Everything in Acclaimed Singer, Songwriter, & Pianist Jon McLaughlin's life makes its way into his music, whether he's conscious of it or not. The artist, raised in Indiana and based in Nashville, brings all of his experiences and beliefs into each song he creates, something that is especially true now that he's the father of two young girls.
Jon released his debut album, 'Indiana', in 2007, attracting fans with his heartfelt, hook-laden songwriting and impassioned delivery. He's released six full-lengths in the years since and revealed a true evolution in both his piano playing and singing. He's played shows with Billy Joel, Kelly Clarkson and Adele, collaborated with longtime friend Sara Bareilles, co-written with Demi Lovato and even performed at the Academy Awards in 2008.
Jon's album, 'Like Us', dropped in October of 2015 and he spent the past few years touring extensively before heading back into his Nashville studio to work on new music. Jon released a Christmas EP in 2017 titled 'Red & Green' with two originals and his take on a few holiday classics. In November of 2018 Jon released his album 'Angst & Grace' which features 'Still My Girl' written for his youngest daughter.
In Fall of 2019 Jon released an instrumental piano album titled 'MOOD'. This record demonstrates Jon's artistry and captivates his talent as a pianist. In May 2020 the second edition of the project was released entitled 'MOOD II'. Jon wrapped up 2020 with the release of his Christmas EP 'Christmas Time' before putting out his most recent full length album 'All The Things I Say To Myself' with immediate fan favorite songs 'A Breakup Song' & 'Outta My Head'.
As with everything he does, Jon's goal is to create connections. He wants to translate his experiences and ideas into music that reaches fans everywhere. His passion for music and playing is evident in each note he plays.

Even though Jon and the band started over an hour LATE (according to the tickets the show was to start at 7:30) he was AMAZING! I have seen Jon live (3) times now and the Bluebird show was the best so far! The best part was the fact that the venue was so small...you felt like you were at a private event! We were within an arm's reach of the small stage! Jon never dissapoints! Excellent job... both my husband and I LOVED all the new music! Way to go band! YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
I love going to see Jon McLaughlin. I've been to see him 5 times now and will definitely be going to see him again. However, I will probably be passing on the Bluebird. The venue itself was okay. The Bloomington audience was by gar the rudest audience I have ever seen at a concert. Quite a few people were yelling over the music to carry on conversations while they could have gone to go to another part of the club to talk. When the musician has to ask several times for the audience to quiet down a bit so the rest of the audience can hear the quieter songs it is never good. Will definitely go see Jon again, will probably not be returning to the Bluebird.
Jon and his band are excellent musicians and full of energy. It's not about fancy stages and laser shows, but musicianship of the highest caliber that makes Jon sublime.
Listen up ladies and gents, Jon McLaughlin's new CD is going to be something your ears did not know it needed! He has some really great things in the works and showcased them well last night! His love for what he does really shined through as it does with all of his shows. His band is fantastic and really now how to rock! Plus, they are all down to earth nice guys that take the time to meet with fans, making going to their show even more fun!
