I bought tickets to this concert as a surprise birthday present for my mother and my husband, who are both HUGE Johnny Mathis fans. We had a blast! He sang about 30 songs and it was great to see all the women in the audience swoon again after so many years. His voice is exactly the same after all these years!
The concert was great ... the chairs were uncomfortable! If you can't get floor seats, rethink the venue.
Johhny Mathis was great, I had not heard him in person for over 20 years. We continued to buy his recordings, you can not tell if he is twenty or seventy his voice is still amazing.
A fabulous concert. Johnny sang all of the songs that you wanted to hear. Gary MuleDeer was wonderful as the entertainment during the intermission - much better than having a lead-in act!! Johnny was as good as he was 50 years ago - it's just hard to realize that we have all gotten so old - he looks wonderful, though!!
We went with friends, and had the best time, Johnny didn't miss a note. his break time comedian was great, We could all relate the senior jokes. Had the best time.
This was my 4th time seeing Johnny Mathis and, as always, I was not disappointed! I could listen to him sign every night!!! Voice is as smooth as ever! I absolutely love him!
We has such a wonderful time! Even his comedian side act was hysterical: Gary Muledeer. Johnny can melt butter with his velvety voice. The only thing we were disappointed in was the Beau Rivage allows people to get up during the concert and wander around. No one should leave unless there is an emergency. There was a drunken woman who kept calling out songs...people told her to be quiet and she was belligerant. No one from BR intervened. However, the music was wonderful! Venue not.
From the first moment that Johnny Mathis stepped on stage (and it was within five minutes of the start of the show), he showed that he hasn't lost any of his vocal excellence. He mixed many standards along with some of his greatest hits and each was done flawlessly. The orchestra accompanying him was also quite excellent. The combination made for a very enjoyable evening of music. A surprise addition to the show was a comedian named Gary Muledeer. He came on stage midway through the performance to give Johnny Mathis a well deserved break. Gary Muledeer kept the audience laughing at his jokes and provided quality entertainment between Johnny's sets.
Lives up to his status as an icon, accompanied by a wonderful orchestra. Sings the obligatory hits and more. Mathis still has it after all those years! Always a special event when he takes the stage.
Johnny Mathis not only looked great but his voice was as strong as ever - had not seen him perform live in many years but any doubts about his voice were erased with the first song. Can't wait to see him again. Can understand why the couple seated next to me had seen him on Friday night and again on Sat. night. Plus the comedian he had was so funny - really enjoyed him, too.
I have been a long time fan of Johnny Mathis, from his early hits. I have always wanted to see him in concert but this was the first time he was fairly close to where I live (about three hundred miles) WOW !!! It was worth the wait. Since Johnny and I are no longer spring chickens, I was wondering about his performance. Not to worry, it was wonderful, wonderful. What a thrill to see him and hear that beautiful voice. This evening will be tucked away in my memory and heart forever. What a class act. Thanks Johnny. LOVE , LOVE LOVE YOU.
Johnny Mathis was fantastic! It really means alot to me when the singer enjoys his concert also. You could tell Johnny, as well as the entire audience, was having a good time. The show was a soldout and everyone enjoyed listening to this legend.
He's older but still a smooth romantic singer with lots of class.
Johnny Mathis is 74 years old and still sounds as wonderful as he ever did!! He sang 26 songs, all classics. If you like Johnny's music, go now!
Johnny Mathis' concert at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, MS was the very best casino program I have ever attended. He delivered a breath taking performance, rich with nostalgic love songs, ballads, movie and musical theme songs, and Brazilian selections. The orchestra, under the direction of musical virtuoso Maestro Lavender , was superb. Enough words can't describe the talent that joined Mr. Mathis on his stage. Even the comedian, Mr. "Mule Deer", who performed during Mr. Mathis break, was musically talented and very entertaining. Johnny Mathis vocal abilities and range cannot be duplicated. He is a one-and-only...the real deal for romanticism putting his heart and soul into his art. He appreciates his audience and the audience truly appreciates him.
This show was a blast from our past and we really and truly enjoyed it. My only regret is that it only lasted 2 hours, I could have gone on all night.....thanks for bringing Johnny back into our life after all these years.......He won't leave again.
Johnny Mathis can still bring it with his soft romantic voice and easy manner. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and his music brought back a lot of old memories and a great "mood" for a couple of old baby boomers.
Still warm and wonderful! Unbelievably sexy and polished. JM handled an over- jealous fan with taste and professionalism. I could have listened to it all over again.
If you can add one event to your bucket list, make it a Johnny Mathis concert. The man doesn't miss a beat! He is the ultimate professional performer and will make you fall in love again.
He wowed the audience. The songs consisted of most of the "oldies" that my wife and I grew up listening and loving. The only song that we wished that he had sung was Maria from West Side Story. The intermission comedian was also fantastic.
