  • What can I say?

What can I say? John Mulaney is one of the premier stand up comedians in the country today and he did not disappoint. He had the audience eating out of his hand with his razor sharp witted storytelling style. Unfortunately, a large group of premier ticket holders arrived an hour late disrupting the entire flow of the performance. John M handled this with typical professionalism yet these elitist clowns complained during and after the event. None of this, of course, was John's nor the venue's fault. Mr Mulaney gave flawless and very funny evening to us all!

  • Mulaney was incredible, venue sucked

by Kendal on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 4 out of 5

John Mulaney is one of my favorite comedians and has been for a very long time. This was my first time seeing him live and he exceeded all my expectations! He was genuine and funny and really knows how to hold presence on a stage. The reason I give 4 stars is two reasons: the opening act wasn’t good and because the venue was not great. Dan Levi just wasn’t funny to me, most of his jokes were just bagging on women or children. As for the venue, the chairs were so uncomfortable and people were coming in upwards of 40 minutes late to the show and then yelling and arguing about whose seat is whose (apparently the venue double booked seats, which is annoying, but should be dealt with OUTSIDE, not while the show is going on). Very unprofessional on part of the venue. Anyways, overall I’d absolutely see John Mulaney again, but just not in Poughkeepsie.

  • Badly planned venue operations

by Ed Beard on 11/13/22Kodak Center - RochesterRating: 1 out of 5

Didn’t see John Mulaney because we bailed out when we encountered the traffic jam, lines and delays. Got there for the second show and tried to get in parking lot which had first show people just leaving the building and parking lot. Rode around the block several times (slowly) and observed even side streets were full of parked cars. Saw one (only one) person that appeared to run the parking lot. On a trip around the block we saw the line that went down the full block ,not moving ,at 10:00 . So still not parked, facing huge line, having to get phones bagged and unbagged on way out , and already late we bailed out and left. I get it’s non refundable , but, I’m pointing out the second show planning, timing and operation were inadequate and disappointing.

  • Loved it

Had some jokes that weren't a hundred percent polished and it made it so much better

  • Awful Venue

    by J. R. on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 2 out of 5

John was hilarious and gracious. The Convention Center was the worst and we will not be returning. People were made to wait outside well past showtime and then brought in to be seated in the middle of the act, blocking peoples views and literally stopping the comedian’s act. Not to mention that the seating was horrible for the price of the tickets. Folding chairs on a concrete floor with little to no room in between. Do better Mid Hudson Civic Center.

  • Terrible

by Brian on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 1 out of 5

We didn’t get into the building until 8:15 and John was already on for a half hour. We paid 93 dollars and missed the opener and the beginning of John’s set. The lines were so long at 7 because the tickets said 7 and nothing about doors opening at 530. Awful all around

  • This Venue Sucks!

by Dee on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 2 out of 5

John Mulaney was great, but the venue was horrible. We waited in line for nearly two hours and by the time we got in, Mulaney was already on stage and half an hour into his set. The venue staff were slow af. They also overpacked the place. I will never go to another show here. They screwed this up royally.

  • Mulaney gret ... venue not so great

by Frank Bernu on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 4 out of 5

The venue had no idea how to move a crowd into the theater. We were in line for over an hour and when we finally got in, Mulaney had already started! we missed the first 30 mins of his show and there was an opening act! shameful!

  • Disappointed

by Chris on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 3 out of 5

John Mulaney was very funny (from what I got to see). Everyone had to lock up their phones, which was fine, but they were vastly understaffed. It took more than an hour to get through the line. By the time many of us got into the venue John Mulaney had already started. To make matters worse, the seating sections were not lit and the venue had few people helping so we could not find our seats. We ended up standing for the portion of the show we were able to see. We bought the tickets months ago, so to say that we got our money’s worth or had a great time would be a major understatement.

  • WORST VENUE EVER- MULANEY was GREAT

    by V. M. on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 1 out of 5

We arrived at 7 for an 8 o’clock show and we’re not seated until 830 because the line to get in wrapped around the whole building- no explanation given - no apology - people were angry - after the show all 3000+ had to exit via ONE DOOR - never again at this venue - JOHN MULANEY - what we saw of him - WAS GREAT

  • No one can find seats

by Hd on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 5 out of 5

John was amazing. The venue, not so much. He even stopped his show to investigate.

  • Could Have Been Better

by Keithaxe on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 3 out of 5

Let me start by saying I have always loved John Mulaney as a comedian. Watched all his Netflix specials and have watched him host Saturday Night Live. I went to this special because of all of that. However, although am very aware of his struggles with drugs and subsequent rehab (and very happy he got sober), I felt that the entire night joking about it and nothing else was disappointing. He could have spent 20 minutes on that and covered some funny moments, and then talked about many other funny things about his life as he does in all his specials I’ve seen. It was too much. I walked out disappointed in the end. Hopefully I will get a chance to see him again and hear him talk about a variety of things and not just drugs, drugs and more drugs. I did laugh at a number of his jokes and he is still funny. But for what I spent for the evening I felt let down a bit. As an aside, Dan Levy who opened for him was just OK. Some of his jokes were funny, but others were quite raunchy. I hate to be a negative reviewer, but I looked forward for several months for the show and felt let down in the end. Again, glad JM was able to get the help he needed and hopefully future shows will be more diverse than just his drug intervention and rehab experiences.

  • Meh

by Aline on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 2 out of 5

The room is awful. I could barely see because of the people in front of me. The room was stifling hot. I love Mulaney but the material was meh.

  • Amazing performance, horrible venue

by Libra on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 5 out of 5

John Mulaney’s performance is always amazing, such a talented person. However the venue should be ashamed of themselves for inviting a performer of this caliber and then doing nothing to stop the constant movement, seating confusion and noise throughout the show. Incredibly disrespectful.

  • Terribly managed

by JMK on 11/13/22MJ Nesheiwat Convention Center - PoughkeepsieRating: 1 out of 5

It took us an hour and a half to get in the doors. We missed the opening act as well as the first 20 min of John Mulaney’s set. Overall, a very frustrating experience.

  • Great show!

by Dallas on 11/12/22Kodak Center - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Always thought John Mulaney was funny on SNL and late night shows, but this was the first time I've seen him in person. I like that his comedy comes from finding the humor his life experiences. Rather than an unending stream of one liners, he he's a storyteller who makes you laugh. A lot.

  • One of the best active stand-ups

by Rob OjS on 11/12/22Kodak Center - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

John Mulaney is hilarious, the end. Best show I’ve seen in years! I hope he comes back soon.

  • Amazing as I figured it would be

by Cailei on 11/12/22Kodak Center - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been a fan since 2015, watched all of the shows, listened to each of his sketches. This show was just as great! I’d recommend to anybody who wants to get into comedy. I’m sad it’s already over lol

  • John Mulaney is a brave, comedic genius

by Juicer Lainey on 11/12/22Kodak Center - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

I have appreciated John Mulaney’s work for years. His current show is by far his greatest work to date. He approaches personal, sensitive subject matter with masterful, self deprecating whit. It takes true courage and bravery to publicly share your vulnerability. This show is a stellar example of comedic art.
