  • John Mulaney was great, venue was horrible

by Jen on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 3 out of 5

It seems that the venue was moved from its original place. There were people who had tickets for seats that didn’t exist. This lead to a lot of talking right behind us while the opening acts were on. We couldn’t hear anything. Opening acts we just ok. John Mulaney we funny as expected.

  • Mulaney at his Best!

    by M. R. on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

It was an amazing show. I laughed so hard that my ribs hurt the next day. Despite his struggles, he was able to use them in a way, that was heartfelt. Such a gifted comedien.

  • Show was great, venue and phone pouch terrible

by KM on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 3 out of 5

This show required the use of a pouch you had to put your cell phone and smart watch into. That’s fine and it was nice to be unplugged, but what if a family had an emergency? It also meant that it took FOREVER to get into the venue. This show was a holiday gift my husband and I gave to each other so of course we also had dinner reservations and we were not told with clarity until 2 hours before the show began to arrive early. We waited outside where it was 27 degrees. I recalled buying “riser” tickets and the 3rd row in that section. To our delight but confusion we were taken to the 3rd row of the main section. The people next to us said someone else was in our seats but the second opening act was performing so we just stayed put. The performance by John Mulaney was captivating, poignant, genuine and of course hilarious. It was so good it brought up the average score of this event.

  • Fun night

by Mitchy on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

The opening acts were great, and as expected John was awesome. The cell phone thing was easy, no big deal. The Reno Ballroom was an odd place for a show. No stadium seating, so couldn’t see very well. Mostly watched on the big screens.

  • Great show!

by Alicia on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was funny and engaging. We enjoyed every minute and every joke.

  • One of the most fun days of my life!

by Shel on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

My Fiancé and I had such an amazing time! We had so much fun and laughed so hard. The opening comics were hilarious and John blew the roof off the place! A million stars!

  • John has been working through this stuff for awhile.

by Dina on 12/14/22Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 3 out of 5

Wasn't much new. Heard most of the jokes over the last 2 years on chat shows. Which was disappointing as I like John was looking forward to attending.

  • John Mulaney at Hippodrome

by Stranger Danger on 12/13/22Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Did not enjoy locking up my phone- the Yondr staff was not helpful and there was only one place to unlock it in the entire venue ..... At the merch table. Other than that, everything was great.

  • Great night!

by Bibi on 12/13/22Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoy JM a lot even though his bit was a bit of a downer. I sure hope he is capable of staying on the wagon. I wish him the best especially now that he has a little boy. Warm up comedians were good, first one was great, second one should've gotten the hook. Using children in a sex joke is sick and not in a good way.

  • Just Not Great

by Casey on 12/13/22Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 3 out of 5

Was so excited for the show. Have loved all of the previous specials. First opening act was awful and offensive. Second opener was okay. Mulaney had some high points but the topic of his anecdotes was overwhelmingly about his drug story which got tired quickly. Hitting some other topics might have helped. Will maybe check him out again on a TV special maybe won't pay for another in-person show. Overall...good but not great.

  • Very Funny

by ED on 12/13/22Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show! His openers were funny, he was great. It was good to see him. I hope he is in a really good place!

  • Absolutely Hillarious

by Bfelsen on 12/13/22Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5

John is amazinv at taking real life stories and sharing them in the most awkward way. I was crying it was so funny.

  • Experience was good but the show was average

by Pooj on 12/13/22Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - BaltimoreRating: 3 out of 5

More than half of the show was previous material. I was sort of chopping for something new

  • Never been in group therapy? Come on over!

by Brian on 12/12/22The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 2 out of 5

My daughter LOVES John Mulaney. We have all of his albums. This was going to be my daughter's first "comedy show". We went to the show. She still hasn't been to a "comedy" show. There were funny parts...but if you've listened to his earlier albums, this is not that.

  • Opening act awful

by Tasha on 12/12/22The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 4 out of 5

John Mulaney was good. I appreciated his vulnerability through his comedy. The problem was the first comedian. He was AWFUL. I mean AWFUL. It was painful to hear his sketch.

  • Meh

by vthokie90 on 12/12/22The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 3 out of 5

I love John Mulaney. But this was not John Mulaney. This felt like a too long share at an AA meeting. !5 minutes of recovery jokes would have been good. The entire show was too much. And this is coming from a recovering alcoholic.

  • A change of pace for Mulaney

by Jeffers on 12/12/22The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 5 out of 5

While his act was notably different from previous specials I’ve seen, From Scratch is absolutely hilarious. John Mulaney came across as very genuine about the last couple years of his life and found humor in many of the foolish things he did in that stage of his life. Glad he was able to get sober and continue to create great art for us to enjoy!

  • FREAKIN AWESOME!

by Cheshire Cat on 12/11/22The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 5 out of 5

John Mulaney is the most fantabulous story teller. His energy is real and he is able to connect with the audience in a special way! I love him! MGM National Harbor is like Disney World! Seats. in Row A were awesome.

  • Best comedy show this year!

by Kathy O’Connor on 12/11/22The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 5 out of 5

The venue isn’t the ideal place but John Mulaney is funnier than ever! I’ve seen Chappelle, Burr and Rock this year-Mulaney was hands down the funniest!

  • He was pretty dark

by Ken on 12/11/22The Theater at MGM National Harbor - National HarborRating: 3 out of 5

Mulaney is always funny with her unique material - especially when he would talk about his family. This show, however, was totally about his drug rehab. It quickly got old and tired - and he seemed jaded. Not his best show.
