  • Hilarious and Great Comeback

by Kesh on 1/3/23The Masonic - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

He’s back! Mulaney delivered a spectacular performance from start to finish and so did the two openers. SF Masonic was the perfect venue for an intimate NYE show. My husband and I loved it!

  • Good not great

by Mark C on 1/3/23The Masonic - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

I'm focusing on John Mulaney who I believed was the best comic today. He needs to break free of the cathartic exercise of retelling his experiences with drugs and rehab. He should move onto what he does best, relatable experiences told through his unique lens.

  • Amazing!

The show was amazing! Content was mature, but very funny; would recommend to many friends.

  • Phenomenal!

by JD on 1/3/23The Masonic - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

John Mulaney’s show was nothing short of amazing. We’d seen his Netflix specials so we knew what what might be in for. The level of humanity, humor, and vulnerability he displayed was a beautiful and unifying force across the venue.

  • Mulaney is a 5, the venue is a 3

by Euroman on 1/3/23The Masonic - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

The warm-up guys were ok. Mulaney is better live than on his streaming specials. He is my favorite comedian since seeing his show. The Masonic parking lot would not accept the reserved parking pass they had sold me just the day before! I had to buy their more expensive event parking. Your phone goes in a pouch that does not allow opening during the concert so I had no way to tell the time and get to my dinner reservation on time. Also, there is an extremely sharp tack that is part of the pouche's locking mechanism that cut my hand.

  • Start On Time

    by K on 1/3/23The Masonic - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

The show itself was fine, but do not startvit 30 minutes late. Thays disreapectful of peoples time and schedules.

  • Great Show, Not so Great Facility

by Arnie on 12/23/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 4 out of 5

John Mulaney had some really funny material about his experiences in drug rehabilitation. I can only vouch for maybe 80% of his performance, however, because I had to spend 15-20 minutes waiting in line for a single-user restroom that was put into use because the women's restroom flooded during the show, which resulted in women being directed to the men's room and men having to use the single-user restroom. I also found out that before the show (and the flooding) started, only half of the women's stalls were available. The Reno Ballroom needs to make sure their public restrooms are fully functional before staging a show like this.

  • John Mulaney was fabulous!

by ConcertGoer on 12/22/22Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 5 out of 5

John Mulaney gets all the stars from us! This show was absolutely hilarious! I would go again. The two openers were funny and were a great addition the very funny man. The show was at Choctaw casino. It was very easy to get to, the place was clean and the seats were really great. There is not a bad seat in the whole venue.

  • Great show

Worth locking up your phone. He keeps it funny but intimate.

  • If you watch late night TV-- you've seen it.

by CeeJayCee on 12/19/22Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 3 out of 5

John's journey is poignant and moving at times and while it's done in a comedic way-- it helps you appreciate his journey as a comedian and a person. You cannot help but like this guy. The material however, has been done the anecdotes many were covered in his various late night appearances of late-- so none of this was all that new or fresh. You cannot take away from his skill as a writer and a standup in particular-- his delivery and timing is spot on-- everything he presented landed well for this audience and that's great. I just wish there were more new or fresh material. His opening acts were both good lead-ins for his show and overall it was an enjoyable evening.

  • First Time Long Time

by John E on 12/19/22Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 4 out of 5

We’ve been Mulaney fans for a long time. This was our 1st seeing him life. His quick wit, spontaneous humor, and unique Storting telling came through without disappointment! Him and Gaffigan reign at the top. The warm up comedians - especially the 1st one who was vulgar and hard to understand (poor voice projection) left much to be desired. Even as warm ups go. Canned and predictable comic attempts. The venue was better than expected. Mulaney even commented to that fact. Concessions pre-show were badly managed, as those outside the theater were swamped while the bars inside the theater had no one in line. The organizers could have let ppl know. $4 for a bottle of water is outrageous anywhere. The phone pouches dictated by Mulaney (?) were a nice diversion, in that no one could be on their phones in the theater! Yay

  • Don’t miss John Mulaney!!

What a great comedian! He’s funny, engaging, and real. Definitely see him if you have the chance!

  • Best

Very funny as expected. Some very smart humor but this was also meaningful. I think this is his best work yet!

  • Great show

by Aphill on 12/19/22Choctaw Grand Theater - DurantRating: 4 out of 5

Felt a little like PR control RE: all the bad press and rumors, but still funny.

  • Mulaney was amazing…the venue not so much

by Vaynay on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

John Mulaney was genuine, authentic and hilarious. The venue was disorganized.

  • Awesome comedians, awful venue

by Steph on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 4 out of 5

John Mulaney and the warm up comedians were amazing, and I will remember the bits for years, but the venue was not set up for this kind of event, and there was practically no line of sight for the comedians.

  • Sometimes Risky Pays Off

by Papa Alice on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

I knew John Mulaney was funny from previous stand-up shows, but this was something different. Still very funny and now even more personal. The majority of the presentation had to do with the topic of his intervention and rehab two years ago. Not a source of laughable material? Hardly, especially the way he tells a story. Often the audience could see where the punch was headed, but Mulaney is so good at the pace and timing (and his sly smile where you can just see the little devil that led him into risky choices) that the audience was ready to laugh with him. Many of us have probably been in his shoes when faced with temptation but each journey downward on that path belongs solely to the person taking the trip. I took my 2 adult sons to the show; we had a fantastic time, lots of laughs and a chance to to get out from under our own past bad acts. BIG THANKS to John Mulaney for continuing to be a pro… and thanks for just simply continuing!

  • unhappy about change in seating

    by G. G. on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 4 out of 5

I purposely choose riser seating at events not the floor - as I often have tall people in front of me - usually can never see the stage and often times can't see the screens completely. When we arrived we were told they were moving our seats up - that meant they eliminated all riser seating and put everyone on the floor. I would not have chosen floor seating and the tickets were not inexpensive. I was not happy that they did not let us know about the change. John Mulaney was very good.

  • Great comic, bad room

by Patrick on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 4 out of 5

So we go into the building, try to find our seats, and the risers were never set up. We ended up in the 23rd row, which wasn’t bad. But the Reno Ballroom is a rotten place to see comedy. Flat, narrow, and way too big. Mulaney was great, but he seemed thrown off by the room setup. Show good, building bad.

  • A little Disappointing

    by J. B. on 12/18/22The Reno Ballroom - RenoRating: 3 out of 5

Have always enjoyed his SNL monologues. While it was pretty clever how he turned his drug problem into an hour-long stand-up routine, I would have appreciated a little more variety in the topics. Also I forgot how downscale the Reno Ballroom is. For the price something like this ought to be in a better facility. As it was, we all had to stand out in the cold for 30 minutes just so all our phones could be put in locking Yondr bags.
