Disappointed that few songs that made the Moody Blues.
Best concert I've seen recently. We had perfect seats, the sound was excellent, and the music was outstanding. Voices were all on, and that guitarist was amazing!
Bought these tickets for my Mother.... it was so nostalgic ..... John was amazing, he still has it!! Moody Blues music will live forever!!
Fun concert to see. Played many of the big hits as well as some of his own stuff. Coronado is a fantastic venue
The show started with the 10,000 light band giving a grand entrance for John to begin with his two part show. He started with his greatest hits from The Moody Blues to his first solo album ,with Justin Hayward, "Blue Jays"and a couple of "deep cuts". He began the second half with the complete "Days of Future Past"album, with Jon Davidson singing the Justin Hayward parts. This is part of John's releasing a "John Lodge version"of the album, which can only be purchased at the show or on Johnlodge.com website. He also honored the late Ray Thomas with his song "Timothy Leary". Graeme Edge gives his final performance, via video, with his reading of "The Day begins". It was a step into the past and memories galore. John's voice is still amazing. It was a full 2 plus hour concert to keep The Moody Blues alive. Do not miss this.
Loved John Lodge and his Moodies. Those guys were not only great musicians but poets! Sounded the same as fifty years ago!
We drove 5 hours to see John Lodge and I’d have to say, it was worth it. Everything fell into place. The parking was easy, the venue was beautiful and John Lodge left it all out on the stage. Yes, some of the notes are not there any more but the memories are. It was a wonderful night.
John was in rare form and the show was incredible. He is extremely talented and did a wonderful job of putting the Moody Blues music together for his band. Considering his age, he can still rock it! I will definitely see him again.
John Lodge & Co. captured the sound and essence of the beloved Moody Blues. Best concert I’ve been to in a long time.
A-1 a beautiful venue to listen to beautiful and heartwarming music
John Lodge still has the energy and charisma at age 80. I was disappointed that the band's flutist was missing from the show.
John Lodge and his Band were fantastic. JL was in top form and sounded great. However, didn’t like the venue. I have trouble with stairs. My seat was front row but to have to go upstairs for a drink was hard and the elevator was inconvenient. All in all loved the show but I won’t be going back to Au Rene.
It was a great show and I would go see him and his band again
Everyone I spoke to (all major MB followers for eons!) was upset that the sound system/ speakers for the instruments TOTALLY drowned out any vocals! At the break, I walked to the stage area and spoke with a member of JL crew. I was told the venue controlled the speakers. Nothing changed for second half. The tribute for GE and his lovely poem was totally overwhelmed by the music; not one word was heard. The music was great…Jon Davidson was a real surprise and he did a great job with TA and NIWS. The entire DOFP project was creatively thought out and I ‘d see it again in a heartbeat!!! Just so bummed that the overwhelming sound system/ speakers wrecked the evening for many. I was in row P. 👸❤️🙀😔 I love JL and band!!!!
The venue was fantastic. John did his best, which was pretty good. He's really getting up in age and has lost some voice and a FANTASTIC partner in Justin Hayward. I still would recommend any Moody Blues fans to go see it before its gone forever
I enjoy John Lodge, not only the music, but his warm personality.
Barely mediocre, you could recognize a few tunes but so far off of their original sound that it was disappointing. A 45 min, with 30 min intermission, followed by 45 mins with no encore. Hard to replicate a symphony sound with an electronic cello and keyboard....hollow!
John Lodge did a great job. Instrumentalists we’re top notch. Where’s the Flute?
The Band was tight, John Lodge still had a good voice and special guest singer Jon Davison sounded incredible. If you like the Moody blues, this is a must see show. They played the hits and then played Days of Future Passed in its entirety. Entertaining show !
