This is Steppenwolf's 50th anniversary tour, and John Kay still puts on a great performance, as does the current incarnation of rest of the Steppenwolf band. Kay. at 72, is still fit and trim, but looking a lot different with shorter hair and without his signature shades (maybe his poor vision as improved to the point where the bright lights aren't as blinding to him as they used to be?). Also very impressed with the huge video screen behind the stage that often showed the Steppenwolf of old performing the same song, and perfectly in sync! Don't miss this show!
The band sounded great and the playlist could not have been any better.
Great! They sounded XLINT. John Kay's voice still sounds awesome.
BROUGHT MY SON, HE COULDN'T BELIEVE THIS GUY CAME OUT OF THE SIXTIES.
John has the same great voice. It was very good show.
foghat should have been the headliner. sorry Steppenwolf but foghat blew you away. foghat has such a deep set list. no contest.
First Molly Hatchet came on and started us in the right mood! I've seen all three of these bands before and Molly Hatchet was better the first time I saw them. Then Foghat performed and did a wonderful job. They performed longer than I would have thought with three bands appearing on the same night. But really didn't want them to end. They were better than the other time I saw them. But when John Kay and Steppenwolf come on you remembered why you were hear. John Kay may be older than the last time I saw him - but he was still just as powerful as ever! They made you forget that it was getting late and you just wanted it to continue and continue. We were in the fifth row and could even understand everything that was said. Couldn't have asked for anything more!!!!!
My husband and I loved the concert and would go back to see them again for sure
Great show from three great bands. All bands put on a great show but Foghat really cranked it out!!!
Loved the show. I've seen them multiple time over the years. You'd never know they've been rockin' out for almost 50 years.
While Molly Hatchet and Foghat were good they would have been better without so much distortion! Steppenwolf had the sound dialed in very well for the venue and as I expected they "kicked ass"! What an inspiration John Kay (can't pronounce his real name) is to generations of people from his childhood through today. Thanks John for all the great music!
John Kay was awesome! The entire lineup was spectacular and performed perfectly.
The night was perfect weather wise and music wise. All three bands gave an amazing shows took me back to my younger days. Interaction with the crowd was great and everybody seemed to be enjoying the show.
The whole scenario was pretty cool, the venue was Mo. state fair & there probably have not been that many old hippies in that place @ 1 time since the Ozark Music Festival back in the early 70's! The show was fantastic! It was like a MAGIC CARPET RIDE back to the 60's! VERY COOL!
John Kay still has a great voice, foghat was a great show my fav, Molly Hatchet singer looked like Donnie Baker i thought he would try to sell a BOAT!
Awesome!!!! Awesome!!!! Awesome!!!! It was a rush to see theses guys again after so many years and they still jam
The whole show was great..a lot of energy from 3 bands that have been around for decades! 5 stars for Molly Hatchet because after there performance, all members of the band went to the table where their T shirts were sold and signed T shirts, etc. Too bad more bands can't be like MH and appreciate the fans with a few autographs. Thanks for the autographs MH!
8 of us wanted to go because we all like their music, 8 of us had great seats, 8 of us left after 30 minutes. Molly hatchet wasn't bad but foghat/steppenwolf sucked. By the 3rd song The exit line was longer than the entrance line was coming in
Steppenwolf was the headliner and John talked a lot and play a lot of way old stuff and then showed videos from the 60s and 70s of the band back then while he sang along with it. We waited nearly an hour and a half to hear Magic Carpet RIde and Born to be Wild as they were the last two songs. Had I known how this was going to be I would not have bought track seats and would have left after Foghat. How could he not tell the crowd was not into it as they were all sitting down! It was sad. It could have been and should have been much better. I would never go back.
