I am a sound engineer and very critical. Regardless on a scale of 1 to 10 I have to rate this show as a 10.0. I have zero complaints. I did not expect much of a show from Eric Burdon after his performance on PBS a few years back, and he shocked me. I totally loved Eric and The Animals' performance. John K and Steppenwolf were as expected, but still a 10.0. They played all of their hits (they don't have many) and several politically motivated numbers. John is up there in years and performed incredibly well. The audience was great too. I hope I can be in at least as good of shape as these guys when I reach their ages.
Eric Burdon was great! The guy is almost 70 years old and still rocks. Loved hearing all the old songs from days gone by. Would have liked to hear "Spill the Wine" but that was Eric Burdon and War. This was Eric Burdon and the Animals. Steppenwolf was great also! John Kay looks pretty good for his age! THey still rock like they did in the 70's! I just feel lucky to see bands that I grew up with.
Eric Burdon and the Animals were outstanding, we could have listened to them all night. They brought many fond memories and I must say Eric's voice was great, hard to believe he is celebrating his 70th birthday. Steppenwolf was OK, but they should have been the warm up band. They were way to loud, had to move way back from our expensive seats. Just not one of our favorite bands.
Eric Burdon was energetic and still has that great voice. Had a great time. Mix of blues with Animals music was great. Wish the show lasted longer. John Kay enjoyed performing and the music was as I remember it. Band was strong and could be heard and felt throughout the fairground - as early metal should be.
Both bands were awesome. So glad I didn't miss this one.
Eric Burdon & the Animals were great! Played all the good ones. John Kay hasn't lost any of his voice. The Wolf is still going strong.
FANTASTIC, BOTH ERIC BURDON AND JOHN KAY! KEEP THE CLASSIC ROCKERS COMING BEFORE THEY ARE ALL GONE!
The headliner Steppenwolf was as good as the ever were in the past. John Kay sang great and the band were tight. Eric Burdon was good, at 70 his voice still sounds great.
Concert was WAY to loud and you couldn't understand what was being sung. Sounded like a bunch of garbled mush.
Fantastic concert. Would gladly see again. Stepphenwolf was WAY TO LOUD. Glad The Animals were first as we left during Stepphenwolf
Enjoyed Eric Burdon & the Animals more than John Kay & Steppenwolf. Eric was fanastic, great showmenship, seemed to really be enjoying himself. John Kay is to political.
