    Worth it!

by DFW on 11/8/23The Louisville Palace - Louisville

Other reviews had me worried, but the Louisville, KY show was great! A well balanced mix of anecdotes, film clips, jokes, and audience interaction. My spouse and I agree it was 100% worth our time and ticket price.

My comedy hero, but I couldn’t hear him

by Zero one one on 11/7/23The Louisville Palace - Louisville

I’m hearing impaired and there were no accommodations apparent for people with my disability. 160$ for two tickets and was able to hear two or three jokes. The speakers were so muddled that even with my hearing aids dialed up, I just couldn’t hear him. It was surreal to be in the same room as my hero, but I still feel like it was a near total waste.

didn't know what to expect coming in but John Cleese was funnier than I thought he would be and I had high expectations. His daughter opened for him and she was quite good as well. well worth the time and money

    Incomparable John Cleese

by KSA on 11/6/23Orpheum Theater - Madison

Being Monty Python fans, seeing John Cleese perform live was a dream come true for my husband, and quite a fitting 70th birthday gift. Mr. Cleese was a combination of a wise man, his comments hitting the mark in many contemporary issues, and a witty, veritable one-man comedic show. His performance provides tribute to his fellow Pythons with both video and commentary and his stories reveal a man who has lived his true life and appears to enjoy every minute of it. Alongside Mr. Cleese was his daughter, who additionally lit up the stage with her own brand of comedy, and worked in concert with her dad during the second half of the show. It was an entertaining night and we feel so fortunate to have attended the "Late John Cleese"Show. You would be remiss if you don't silly walk your way to his next performance and revel in his accomplished silliness.

    joyous, hilarious, heartfelt

    by paws2k3 on 11/6/23Orpheum Theater - Madison

i grew up on Fawlty towers and monty python, so seeing john cleese live (in some shape or form) has been on my list of things to do forever. as with so many of the icons of my childhood and youth, they are all my dads age now - or in that ballpark, and seeing them has never felt more important. he was funny, poignant, and his stories were warm and delivered with a clear fondness and appreciation for just being who he is. it was a wonderful evening out, and he was far more engaging than any other comedian i have seen live. really really glad i did it.

The greatest show I have ever watched

by Oclone on 11/5/23Orpheum Theater - Madison

John Cleese is a master of comedy in my humble opinion. However, I might be a bit biased since I absolutely love Monty Python and the Holy Grail and all of the Monty Python sketches as a whole. It was amazing to listen to John Cleese talk about not only about Monty Python and what happened behind the scenes but also his thoughts on comedy as a whole and some stories from his life that he found enjoyable. If I ever get a chance to see him live again, I will gladly take it.

Kind of slow presentation with too many video clips. Left at intermission.

The Legendary John Cleese Strikes Again

by Shrek 2's #1 Fan on 11/1/23DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Seeing John Cleese, while sitting in second row (thanks to the VIP Upgrade) was an absolute joy and a moment I'll never forget! John Cleese was unapologetically "John Cleese"and that's exactly what you'd expect and want! The show was more of an intimate "Evening With"filled with nostalgia and laughs. The only reason I gave 4 Stars is because the poster you receive as apart of the VIP 1 Package was sadly unsigned. Loved getting a photo with Mr. Cleese, but having an autograph to match the meet n greet would have only enhanced the moment.

    What a Pleasure!

by Devin on 11/1/23DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Seeing and hearing from John Cleese, in person, for the first time, was such a pleasure. As a fan of Monty Python and John Cleese TV shows and movies throughout the last, shall I admit, 50 years, it was truly an honor. Being introduced to his delightful comedic daughter, viewing clips of some of the most hilarious Python moments, learning more about the relationships between the Python members, hearing, what my kids call, ole dad jokes, and just seeing this icon owning the stage at DPAC made for a nostalgic and wonder-filled event. Kudos to Mr. Cleese!

by Bevin on 11/1/23DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Just as brilliant as he was 30 yrs ago! The show was a delightful experience of stand-up, reminiscing, a Q&A session and video clips from the past. His daughter Camille opened for him and she was hilarious as well!

    Good show and venue

by James BW on 11/1/23Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

Enjoyed the evening with John Cleese. Not knowing what to expect going in, it was a good show. He told funny anecdotes and show and film clips. The second half of the show he answered audience question. I'm happy we got to see him. The venue was Great, second time going there for a show. Nice area and easy parking.

    Cleese is a worldwide treasure

by Baseman on 11/1/23DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

We had a great time hearing stories and celebrating the wisdom on the late John Cleese. If you like Monty Python and that ilk, you should get a ticket and see John before he passes on and stops visiting us from the beyond.

In the Spirit of Monty Python

by Skip on 10/31/23Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

If you enjoy John Cleese's characters in Python or movies, you'll find in this show that the man is not far removed from the characters. A rebellious irreverence tempered by a smidge of compassion is evident in his storytelling. If I had any complaint, it is that his time on stage passes too quickly. But I smiled from the time he walked on to the time he walked off the stage.

by Bill C on 10/30/23Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

John Cleese provided a great evening of laughs interweaving film clips and recollections. He also provided a master class on the subject of what makes something funny. The Akron Civic Theater is a beautiful facility I would love to visit again.

    Like sitting at Grandad's knee!

by cheeekybrit on 10/30/23Akron Civic Theatre - Akron

LOVED IT! If you're a fan of Monty Python or Cleese this is a must-see! Especially loved the second act when he answers the audience's questions; the old stories he told were hilarious! At 84, he is still such a quick wit. A very fun night!
