JOEY BADA$$ IN CONCERT:
In 2012, Brooklyn-born freestyle prodigy Joey Bada$$ leveled hip-hop fans with his swagger-infused poetry as an opening act on The Smoker’s Club Tour. Just a year later he was headlining his own shows, bringing a polished intensity to his performances that belied his recent arrival on the scene and elicited rave reviews from new followers and concertgoers. Whether he's performing solo or joined by the Pro Era crew, Joey's throwback style and stripped-down approach will continue to hit the mark on his upcoming tour dates.
SNAPSHOT BACKGROUND:
Discovered as a teenager through a self-made YouTube clip and signed to Cinematic Music Group in 2010, Joey's career has been on the steady up-and-up. After blowing the minds of hip-hop fans in 2012 with his breakthrough solo mixtape 1999, he has maintained a sonic assault of fresh material, including 2013's acclaimed Summer Knights EP. Joey and his Pro Era crew are whip-smart and socially aware but can still throw down and party, and they'll continue to represent the front line of this generation's dialed-in lyricists and beat makers on their upcoming tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"With this performance, Joey made hip-hop look great."
"Joey Bada$$ bringing a whole new realm of realness to New York!"
“Joey Bada$$ was awesome. The show was full of energy and I enjoyed every minute of it. I would definitely recommend seeing him to anyone that gets the chance.”
This was honestly one of the best shows I've seen at center stage. The openers were great and Joey killed the stage!
Buddy one of the openers was dope! Joey put on a great show and I was so happy he performed Devastated twice!!!
He killed it. Great openers and he performed songs from 3 different albums. I would rate it 5 stars but there was this pole that blocked a view during the openers.
The entire crowd was anticipating Joey from the first opening act. Then Peter surprised all of us with a Vic Mensa guest appearance. Joey followed Vic with an incredible paper trail$ performance and the night would continue like this. Kirk and CJ Fly were also incredible. These guys really showed crazy chemistry and put on the best show of my life
The atmosphere was comfortable, pro era performed amazingly. There was a lot of marijuana but it was expected because of the rap concert but overall definitely a 5 star concert.
Joey murdered the stage as usual, the venue was kind of strict and wouldn't let anyone smoke but other then that, pro era did a tight job of hyping us all up for Joey. Definitely the best night of my life. Joey brought back East Coast rap without a doubt. Biggie would be proud.
Concert was very exciting! Everybody performed great including Joey Bada$$ himself, it was great to be able to meet him, Denzel Curry, and Bishop! I would love to see Joey Bada$$ live again.
My friend asked me to go to the show with her; I was a little hesitant because I didn't know who they were, but I'm so glad I went. The show was so much fun and a great experience. All the performers were great. They all earned a new fan that night. The only thing is it was so hot and there were no seats like i attended on there being. We had to stand the whole concert. But overall I had a great time and would love to see all the performers again. This will be a night I will always remember.
Excellent show, venue was perfect, the crowd amazing. Great experience
Joey Bada$$ was incredible -- great energy, performance. Extra points for the mosh pits -- and shout out to the crowd for looking out for each other. Dope being at a hip-hop show where everyone wasn't recording the show on their Snapchat. Wish I made it to the stage when he called up all females. So close! Loved Ultimate Denzel Curry's energy and visuals too!
I really enjoyed the performance from Jazz Cartier, I felt that I waited waaaayyyy to long too see Joey Perform & wasn't fully satisfied i would've liked to hear a couple more songs. ALSO IT WAS NOT OKAY THAT WE WERENT ALLOWED TO SMOKE LIKE HELLO THIS IS A RAP CONCERT. Overall Joey was a great performer & the vibe was perfect. Just wish I could've enjoyed it high.
He took a while to come on stage but when he did he was really energetic and it just a really good experience over all.
The concert was amazing. I wasent too familiar with the opening acts, but they did there thing. The three main acts who I came to see. All killed there sets.
Watching from the top balcony of Terminal 5th allowed you to see all of the 3000 attendees. The setlists all lacked the 420 theme and Lil Herb put on a poor performance but the energy Joey Badass and the pros bring to the stage was incredible.
Had a good time...Very peaceful event and was worth every dime...Salute to everyone who came out
it was like the shelter scenes from 8 mile, very raw
This was hands down the best performance ever , for my first time , joey bada$$ , nyck caution , Cj fly , Kirk knight , and Dyemond lewis , and for the rest of pro era , they know how to perform , exactly why there my favorite.
Joey is such a great performer. He makes you feel like he's speaking to you directly. Security was way too strict-to the point of ruining the act's set.
Got there late, right when JB was going on. The crowd was quiet at the beginning but got more into it as the set went on and as some of the other Pro Era guys came out. Joey was killing it from the start and sounded great. Seeing him live makes you realize how talented he is, left me with more respect from his skill than I had going in.
been listening to all his tracks/mixtapes since first hearing of him and the dude clearly can write lyrics. went to see him live to see if can perform. lot of expectations and he lived up to it. word up jozif
