Excellent show. He kept the songs coming without stop.
Joe was amazing, great interaction with the audience. Love Him!!!!
He sang so well it was as if the his record was playing in the background. He was on time. He made sure to focus on everyone in the audience. His music took you back to the time when music was real music
This concert was absolutely amazing! I couldn't have asked for a more entertaining evening. The band was on point and Joe always brings it. His voice is so powerful that it brought me to tears. This man is so talented and he sounds even better live! He is so consistent with his music album after album.... I am a fan for life!!!
Joe put on a great show!! He sounds great live! He moved around stage smiling, as if he was enjoying himself perform for us.
First i'd like to to state that Joe and After 7 is not the reason why it's 3 stars. In fact, they did beyond an outstanding job. The following is why it's 3 star: Star 1) The opening act had talent but thought we paid tickets to see him. I don't think he knew he was the opening act because he was getting stools to sit on and talking to the audience like he was the stuff. On his 3rd song, i believe it was, he insulted the audience telling them to read like we were stupid. AND on his 3rd song he stated that was his last song and then sang another. Most of the audience were upset. Don't state that it's your last song and then sing another. We paid tickets to see the artists on that ticket. Star 2) If you do have an opening act, don't start the event at 9pm. Start it at 7 or 8. I was upset because i assumed if it started at 9 then there is no opening act...then here he comes. So i'd like the event either 9p no opening act or start it early if you are gonna have an opening act.
I went to see JOE and guest opening act JON B in concer February 12, 2011. This concert was amazing!!! I love both artists and Jon B is one of my favorites as well as Joe and I was just so exicted to have seen them in concert. Both did a great job live and they sounded great. Both are nice people to I had the oppurtunity to meet them backstage and take pictures with them.
This was undoubtly a fantastic show. I have never seen either artist live, and have been trying for some time now; it was surely worth waiting for. Jon B opened and I couldn't wait to hear him sing some of his old tunes as well as new; he did not disappoint. To see him play various instruments during his session and still be able to sing without the distraction "newer" artists exhibit was amazing. Joe -one of my all time favorite male singers -simply amazing!!! I love this man and his smooth voice. He sang so many of my favs (ok maybe all are) I could barely stay seated. He was soooo worth me flying down to Los Angeles, renting a car and driving one hour(2 in darn traffic) to Riverside to enjoy the intimate show both he and John B displayed. I want to thank you for making my night a fantastic one.
I saw Joe about 4 year's ago at the Gibson but seeing him at the Fox Theatre in Riverside was just soooo awsome. He sounds just like the CD's his voice is great worth every penny for the ticket LOVED HIM LIVE!!!!
So I went to see Joe, Jon B. was just a bonus- but in my mind he stole the show. Jon B. was soooooo passionate and sounded GREAT live. Joe was also awesome and sounded great live. Unfortunately he didn't sing as many (or complete versions) of his well known songs.
His voice, his body, his dress!!!! Ahhhh, a great cup of Joe!!!!!!!! Joe can sing to me anytime. Love my cup o' Joe. Hope he performs at Essence.
This show was off the hook! Show delay messed it up
I surprised my big sister and took her to the concert. We're both married with kids and needed a break. What better idea than to have an affair with Joe and Jon B without violating the marriage contract. These songs brought back memories over the course of my life- the high and low points- the good times and bad. But the music made you feel like you're drifting, it made you feel like you were young again, like you could do anything. I felt good and I hadn't felt like that in a long time. The experience was wonderful. If Joe and Jon B comes back to Fox theater I will be first in line.
Joe was great...but the concert started almost 2 hours late. The waiting lobby was extremely stuffy and hot. Two people passed out while waiting for the doors to open and paramedics were called out twice. Once the doors were opened and the concert started, audio techs continued to work on the audio equipment throughout the opening act. Audio equipment sucked...
To whom it may concern, I enjoyed the concert once it got started about an hour and a half late.. That experience is an event I would not recommend. I believe with better planning it would have a been an over all good experience.
Joe and John B were Amazing as I expected, After all those years, they still sounds great. I had lots of fun specially when the ladies and I got on stage with Joe , it was great I definitely got my money's worth
This could have been a great show had the sound engineers did a better job and it started on time. It had the right artist and all the right songs, but it didn't matter because of the sound. At one point even Joe added the lyrics, "Can somebody please get this mic right." Throughout the show he was moving around to prevent mic interference. He did a remarkable job because it almost looked like part of the act. Joe is a class act and should have never subjected himself to such poor equipment. If I were him I would never play at this venue again unless they guaranteed the sound issue was corrected. Speaking of the venue, I was impressed. They had plenty of help on hand to assist the guest. I was escorted to my seat by a very nice lady (employee). The restrooms were clean and accessible and I was able to find safe parking on the street (by accident) accross from the parking garage. I would give this venue one more chance provided they had an artist I had to see. Otherwise I would wait for the artist to play somewhere else. I will say this, this venue is much, much, better than the Grove.
The venue was horrible and we had to wait an extra hour before we could be seated. There was also no center balcony located at the Spreckles. Jon B could have a better souns system we could not hear him sing at all. But Joe hit the stage and i was totally impressed he sounds just like his albums and he was very clear. He also seemed very personable by getting off the stage mingling with the crowd. I would definitely go see Joe again but just not at the Spreckles.
Loved it! I wished it had lasted longer; I did not get enough.
Joe was 1.5 hours late for his show. The venue wouldn't allow us to go into the theater. We had no idea of what was going on. Once the show started we could barely hear the singing, because the sound was horrible for Jon B. The accompanying music was too over powering. It seemed like the musicians hadn't practiced with Jon B, because he had to keep directing them. Once Joe appeared on stage he performed great. He was engaging and entertaining. His sound was a bit better, but you expect more from seasoned professionals.
