  • Not very good

by Pc1247 on 1/4/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

I did not like this event at all. The opening acts were way too long and low budget. The artist took toooooo long to finally come out. Then the were singing to a CD what the heck!!! No band no back-up singers, just the computer sitting there, so low budget. Dave talked to much I did not come to hear a testimony, just sing. Sorry it was too late by the time he got on stage so no one on my row wanted to hear it. Not worth my money. However thank goodness for the DJ trying to keep us engaged or else there may heve been a riot. He was good at least.

  • Ripped Offff !!!!

by JRizzo64 on 1/3/12Fair Park Music Hall - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

I go to 3-4 concerts anually, and I have seen Joe in the past 12 months. This was the worst concert that I have been to. It was not due to the singing of the artists (they were actually good) but because of the way the concert was put together. I found myself completely disgusted. First, the tickets stated that the concert would start at 8pm and it was clearly 9:20pm before the first artist (Dave Hollister) walked onstage. First sign of trouble was when I saw there was not any band gear onstage. I knew it was a promotional rip-off. It is extremely wrong to ASSUME it is ok to charge that amount for tickets, and have the artists sing along to cd's. How is it called a CONCERT when there is no band? Isn't that called Karaoke? Second, make sure that the MC is professional and can relate to the crowd that is on hand. At one point, during the huge lapses in time of doing nothing, they turned the stage into a Frat show with girls onstage and other crap. My wife and I drove 150 miles to hear good live band singing...not a step show.

  • BAD BAD BAD

by sadsadconcert on 1/3/12Joe & Dave Holister Dallas Music Hall - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

I have been going to concerts for years and this was the worst. Joe and Dave did not take the stage until around 10pm when the show as to start at 8pm. We comedians and some points it felt like being in the audience of star search. No live band songs to a cd OMG! Even Joe made a comment about doin a concert to a CD thats how horrible it was. Will never attend anything that the production company puts on again. No security no one directing traffic out of parking lot. A Mess

  • Worst concert I've ever attended!!!

by QueenofPurple on 1/3/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

A concert with pre-recorded background music and vocals. Who does this?? Infused with horrible sound system and hideous lighting, with beams of light blinding the audience at times! Show start time was supposed to be 8pm, finally began around 9. After the pre-show mess, DJ announced a 15 minute break, which the audience boo'ed! Dave Hollister came on at 9:45, singing tract, by tract, with some talk in between. Then turned show right over to Joe. Joe's set up time included bringing out a bar stool, towel, and guitar on stand. I begged my husband to leave....we were both sick and sacrificed going to the show in an effort not to let the tickets go to waste....a joke, the money I had spent on the tickets as a Christmas stocking stuffer for my husband, was wasted the minute I purchased them! I spent my time in concert on Facebook and texting another friend in the audience who's daughter had paid nearly $200 for their tickets, and she was just as furious! At the beginning of one of Joe's songs, the cd skipped....Joe said "this is what happens when you perform to a cd." That was the turning point for me, I left the auditorium, and did not return. The show ended about 10 or so minutes afterwards. My husband said, Joe picked up the guitar on the last song (which apparently he had nearly forgotten was there) stating, not enough artists use instruments. Ironic! We promptly left the venue, took about 15 mins or so to exit venue, walk to car and leave parking lot. We live about 20 miles away. When we pulled up in the garage, I looked at my cell and it had 12:05 a.m. That translates to, Joe & Dave Hollister performed less than 90 minutes collectively! What a waste of $131.50!

  • Concert not worth my $200

by AlekaSimms on 1/2/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

The other acts were on longer than Dave and Joe. Dave did really good. However, Joe is one of my favorite artists and he didn't even do that well. I was not satisfied.

  • Swagga Lost

by Ballos on 1/2/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

Swagga Wilkes promoted his first big event and it was a Bomb to say the least. He did not do his homework. The event started 1 1/2 hours late, he put a bucnh of pre-show nonsense that had nothing in commom with the target audience, then to top it off the headliners performed off a cd with skipped several times. This did not start my weekend or New Year off right. Then Mr. Wilkes was attempting to promote a good cause organization which he had to read line for line off paper like he never heard of them before. This did not make me feel comforable donated to them. The audience booooooed all night, but the show went on. He mentioned this was the 1st of several concerts including Tyrese in February. I would not attend or recommend anyone attending anything pomoted by MR. Wilkes. The venue was okay, but was not help in resolving the many unhappy customesrs.

  • Dave Hollister and Joe

by Neaoshea on 1/2/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

Dave Hollister should have been the HEADLINER. Joe is an arrogant performer. Who seemed to not be pleased with the amount of people that attended the concert. The concert ended awkwardly with Joe leaving the stage in an impromptu manner.

  • Love Joe and Dave Hollister

  • by Anonymous on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

Artist sang to prerecorded music . The host and the D.J. did not fit with audience.

  • AWESOME! Dave, Dave, Dave!!!!

by Arvella on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Very Smooth.... There no female artists so the men were left looking a little puzzled. However, I got what I cam for and that was to hear Dave Hollister.

  • It started late and they play music on a cd.....

  • Awful sound system and recorded music

by djdmac on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

When you o to a venue like that you automatically think it would be a live band, but no awful awful presentation.

  • poor sound quality

by sadman2329 on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

dave sound track were to bassy and is mike was not clear. Joe's tracks were not loud enough. Clarity was there, but not enough kick to reach the balcony like it should have. The performers were awesome.

  • Some real singing!!!

by lardee on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Both JOE and Dave Hollister were Great!!! The show started late, but the DJ kept us entertained. They could have done without a couple of the opening acts. Overall, we had a great time!

  • Dave and Joe real musicians!!

by Meekjack on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

They both performed great! What I was disappointed in was the people that brought them here. They performed by cd and I felt that as much as I paid for the tickets their should have been a band. Also the ushers let people walk all over the center stand up in areas where there were no seats so for the people that paid for good seats, we actually had the worst seats. My husband and I had to move to the cheap seats to see the performance. The ushers had no control of the crowd. Also the covert was suppose to start at 8pm, Dave didnt get on stage until 10:30. To stall for time they put on the worst amateur performances I had ever seen. I wanted to get my money back and leave. I will never go to a show hosted by them ever again. I will have to see Joe and Dave with someone else. Overall it wasn't good because of all the distractions.

  • Karoake concert

by PersianLady on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

If I ever go to this venue to attend a concert again, I will purchase floor seats. The balcony.speakers are horrible. My husband and I had to step out and speak to the manager. Once we moved to the floor seats, the.sound was much better. The filter acts were not entertaining and waste of time. It took a long time for the artists to come out and the host was boring. DJ Freeze was pretty good. I was there to see JOE and Dave Hollister didnt impress me. Basically a CD was playing in the backgound, while JOE would sing over it. He sang two songs with a guitar as there was no band. His voice is amazing. There is no doubt about that but he didn't sing Worst Case Scenario because he had to sing what was already pre recorded on this karoake cd, which was disappointing.

  • Worst concert ever!!!

by Dreday824 on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

Please do not waste your money om this concert. They started about 1 1/2 hous late, the musicians had no background singers are band. Both artist sang solo to a cd that skipped smtimes throughout the song. This was awful!!!

  • Highly Disappointed

by HighlyDisappointed2011 on 1/1/12Music Hall At Fair Park - DallasRating: 1 out of 5

I never do reviews, but this was the perfect one to start with. It started 1 hour and 48 minutes late. Show was to start at 8, and Dave Hollister didn't hit the stage until 9:48. He rushed through his approximately 30 minute set. But, first let me start with the unprofessional ism that ensued prior. The Host was horrible. The myriad of baffoonery opening acts were horrible, and people were pissed! If I could have disputed my ticket fees I would have immediately. Joe made things a Little better but his show at the House of Blues last year was much better. His set was rushed as well, his backup CD skipped and it was apparent he was singing to a track. He ended his set abruptly and I was more than ready to go at that point. The opening acts, or hot mess acts, performed longer than the Artist I paid to see. Never Again! The Chocolate Series was a Bust!
