    MEMORY LANE!

by GBeetchr on 4/15/19Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Joan was as wonderful as ever! She stood there for over 2 hours and never sat down...amazing...plus she was singing and talking about the songs ....gave them all a great introduction and source of reference! I believe the crowd would have stayed the night! She brought the 60"s right back into focus with her new Freedom Songs, along with the oldie but Forever Goodie songs! The tributes to the Deportees and South Carolina Church Shooting were simply, touching and heart rendering! Thanks for the Great Evening as you leave us for Retirement! You never disappointed!

Great location and venue. Great seats on second row from stage. Joan looks great and her voice has actually improved with age. Audience was enthusiastic and well mannered.

    I bet it was good!!

by S. on 4/15/19Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I wasn’t able to make it to the concert. We had car trouble halfway there and decided it was best if we went back home. After buying the ticket last July, and being so psyched about finally getting to see Joan Baez in concert, I was more than bummed! I’m sure she put on a good show, though, and I wish her the best in her future!! Still a mega fan!!

    A Living Legend

    by L. L. on 4/15/19Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

The only negative thing I can say is that we're sad this is Joan's last major tour. She gave a wonderful, personal performance as always. If we ever have a chance to see her again, we'll be there. Until then, we'll just say 'Fare thee well".

Her voice is not as strong, but she sang for 2 solid hours with no breaks! I will always adore her voice!

    Wonderful concert

by HandyDandy on 4/15/19Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Lovely show. Her range isn't quite what it was but at 77 how could it be? Song selection was great and delivery was spot on. Her small band, including her son on percussion, added some musical depth to the sound. Set list included 4 Dylan songs (Don't Think Twice, It Ain't Me Babe, Hard Rain, Forever Young) as well as her own Diamonds and Rust and the traditional Ain't No More Auction Block and Dink's song to close.

    amazing concert

by uschi on 4/15/19Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I have seen Joan Baez many times in concert, starting in the mid 70s. Hard to believe it was the last time. She did not disappoint. A wonderful performance, I was really sad when it ended.

Joan Baez was amazing. She was onstage for almost two hours, playing old and new songs. Her voice isn’t as pure as it was when she was young but it is still beautiful and she can hit the high notes. We couldn’t get tickets in Los Angeles so we bought tickets for the San Diego concert and I’m so glad we did. The venue is outdoors but the evening was pleasant and the audience was so glad to hear Joan. I wish we could afford to get secondary market tickets for LA — I’d go again in a second!

Joan Baez at the Chicago Theatre

by jhmv on 10/12/18The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Joan is an icon so hyperbole is silly. She walked on stage with no introduction, was one necessary - obviously no. She was in beautiful voice. The band with son Gabriel Harris on drums was understated and with just the right amount and of effective accompaniment.. /The encores were wonderfully chosen and the end with the Hendrix version of the star spangled banner and the taking of a knee by the band and crew was typical Joan. A great night for true believers!

Joan Baez Fare Thee Well Tour

by MusicandSongRules on 10/11/18The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

The concert was a religious experience. Baez sings truth to power - her fire still burns for justice and equity for all. Her performance was a beautiful quilt of covers of some of the most wondrous singer/songwriters in the folk realm - Guthrie, Seeger, Simon & Garfunkel, Prine, and more. Her vocal range at 77 is remarkable. Her high clear haunting soprano voice now has deepened and she can still carry the high note accents. Her musical partners - a string artist of amazing talents (banjo, mandolin, bass guitar, folk guitar and piano) and her son Gabe on percussion - just the most perfect blend of sounds. She also had a lovely young woman singing harmony on a number of songs. Baez's show - not to be missed.

Baez, a serious, important American artist

by mikemick on 10/10/18State Theatre - Minneapolis

First heard Joan with Dylan in Raleigh, NC March 1965, , on furlough from Staunton Military Academy in VA, before I barely knew who Dylan was. Wondered during concert why so many in the audience were wearing denim jackets! Got first Baez LP, which I still have, around 1963, wore it out, learned songs off it including my favorite "When You Hear Those Cuckoos Hollerin'" which had/has a great, but fairly easy flat pick guitar part. Joan's concert last week was beautiful, deep, moving. May be fare thee well tour, but never forgotten.

History and today, Joan Baez speaks true always

by LFE3 on 10/10/18DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Sadly, even the old tunes resonate today as they did when Joan was a kid on the stage at Woodstock. Her voice is as strong and clear, and her range as incredible as it was those 60 years past. Joan is an artist who has stayed true to her human rights roots. Her new songs are as relevant to the political atrocities today as her early songs were to the war and civil rights battles of the 1960's. Her renditions of Bob Dylan and Woodie Guthrie songs speak to the soul. Coming straight from the rallies in Washington, DC, she is a tireless activist, the conscience our Nation so desperately needs. This may be her Fare The Well tour, but the United States will still need her voice for many years to come. We obviously still have not learned...

A cultural icon and incredible talent

by Chattykp on 10/9/18The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Joan Baez has not lost any of her most endearing qualities: her incomparable musicianship, her ability to tell a story, hold an audience and inspire her audience to stay engaged, involved and politically active! Love her and hope she does keep performing - we need her more than ever!!

Joan Baez still amazing in a different way

by nowownever on 10/9/18Michigan Theater - Ann Arbor

Joan Baez showed us that aging can bring depth to the delivery of long loved songs that more than compensate for a little vocal deterioration. This concert was much more powerful than those of her soaring crystal clear soprano years. A 5 star concert.
