    She is Amazing!!!!!!!

by Piscessonoma on 4/26/19Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

I have been a fan since the beginning of her career. She is incredible. She was on stage singing from 7:30 to 9:20. Her voice is much more mellow but still great. Her guitar playing is also great. She is 78 years old and stood for the whole concert leaving the stage only once while the drummer, her son, played a solo. My daughter who went with me so I wouldn't be alone was also blown away. The whole audience gave her several standing ovations from the moment she walked on stage to her last encore.

Joan loves the planet and it’s people

by Lulu on 4/26/19Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

Joan was great. Ever the poet and so down to Earth, she still has an amazing voice and gave 1000%. Her musicianship, her playing and her crew were above par. The Tennessee Theatre is gorgeous. Well worth it to see an icon of American music on this beautiful stage. The crowd was mesmerized. Heart.

    Elegant and riveting

by Ursula on 4/26/19Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

Tennessee Theater was the perfect venue for this legendary singer. Though her voice has lost some of it's range, it is still sweet and unique. The addition of Grace Stumberg's voice, multi-instrumentalist Dirk Powell and percussionist Gabriel Harris (her son) enhanced her performance while never overshadowing it. Joan interacted freely with her audience and seemed to genuinely appreciate them. She was gracious throughout and generous with her encores. I would happily see her again anytime....unfortunately, this is her farewell tour...

    The Best

A great performer and a wonderful caring person. Her brilliance as a performer is only outshone by her compassion as a person.

    Terrific Performer and Inspirational Person

    by P. B. on 4/26/19Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

Joan Baez still has all of the talent and charisma that were there in the early years of her career! Her concert was a good balance of her newer songs along with the classic songs from her earlier years. Her music still has the power to unite people and point the way for change. Though her voice has deepened, the clarity and resonance of it have been retained. Her authenticity and ability to connect with her audience made it seem like a very personal experience. My only complaint has nothing to do with her, but with other audience members in front of me who had their cell phones out making photos and videoing her performance. The light from the screens of the phones was annoying. Why not ban the use of phones during concerts?

    Truly Amazing

    by J. I. on 4/25/19The Pageant - St Louis

We have now seen Joan Baez in concert twice in the past few years -- the first being the 75th birthday tour in Chicago. I've always loved her music, but I never was able to catch live performances. Joan is still a great entertainer and was even better in this Farewell Tour. She seems to have learned to use her voice in its now altered state as a result of age. The performance was masterful in that she had this audience eating out of her hand from the very first note. The venue was very cozy and lent itself to this kind of concert. All in all, this was a great evening and well worth the 3-hour drive each way.

Joan Baez never phones it in, always a remarkable concert

by LRM on 4/25/19The Pageant - St Louis

I've seen Joan Baez as often as possible over the years, from New Orleans Jazz Fest to every other concert that crosses my path, most lately a few about 5 years apart at The Pageant in St. Louis. It's always NIRVANA from front to finish. More than anyone in my lifetime, she is my muse. Thank you, Joan Baez! Your music speaks to our souls.

Easy venue and good accessibility for everyone. Joan Baez was great; her voice is still rich and resonant and she puts on a good show. So glad I went.

    Childhood remembered

by Crash Davis on 4/25/19The Pageant - St Louis

Wonderful performance! A mix of old material and some surprises e.g. songs by Marian Anderson. She played at least three encores. Her musians were excellent, including her percussionist son Gabe and multi-instrumenalist Dirk Powell (was incredible). For an hour and a half I was transported back to my youth and the chaos, where so much of the music was directly connected to the political upheaval.

    Wonderful Show!

by K. on 4/25/19The Pageant - St Louis

I've always loved Joan Baez, and I'm so glad I got to see her farewell show. Even though she doesn't hit the high notes like she used to, her music was beautiful and meaningful. She did three encores and the crowd still wanted more. I will really miss her, but I'm still singing her tunes and enjoying them. Hard to believe she's 78 years old!

    Fabulous!

by Sallie on 4/16/19Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

I was so thankful I was able to hear Joan Baez on what she calls her last tour. Her voice was vibrant and her songs still held the cultural importance they always have.

    Joan Baez's music is timeless!

by c. Kelly on 4/16/19Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

Ms. Baez performance was second to none! The overall performance by her and the artists accompanying her was outstanding. I would go to every one of her concerts if it were possible. The Mobile Saegner Theatre does need updating though. Seats were uncomfortable, too tight & the air was stagnate. The individuals who provided assistance were super friendly and helpful.

    An evening with Joan

by Big Lou on 4/16/19Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

She is an amazing woman, sharp as a tack, and with a voice that has mellowed with age, but that is no less compelling than when I was a teenager. And these days, I seldom attend an event where I am one of the young ones at the age of 71. It was a good feeling. Bring her back. I wonder if you ever have an interview session as a part of an evening's performance - I would love to hear what she has to say about almost anything.

    She is Still Going Strong

by DrJean on 4/16/19Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

Joan Baez does remarkably well for her age. Her voice is still as beautiful as ever and she has energy. I would have preferred to hear her old songs that I have loved for years, especially her love songs, rather than new protest songs. It's nice that she is still looking out for her fellow man but I wanted an evening to relax and enjoy in concert the songs I play over and over again at home.

    Fair Thee Well Joan

by chopper71 on 4/16/19Saenger Theatre Mobile - Mobile

The theater was small intimate, the sound was tremendous. Joan may not be able to hit the high notes, but her voice was crystal clear. She had a small band and a back up singer and all were good. Joan sang her songs, Dylan songs and ended the concert with Fair Thee Well. Even though she won't be touring, I hope she will continue to write and release songs and continue to be a voice against hatred and injustice.

A Class Act in a Class of Her Own

by Marbury on 4/15/19Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I've seen her in concert at least a half-dozen times over the years. If she has ever missed a note, I'm unaware of it. Yes, she tends not to do songs anymore that require an enormous vocal range, but as she demonstrated on Friday in "House of the Rising Sun" in particular, she still has a very formidable range, and her voice has a beauty all its own. The concert was wonderful from beginning to end. As a diehard Dylan fan, I especially appreciated her doing four Dylan songs, all of which she does better than anyone in the world (except Dylan). The evening had a bittersweet quality because it is part of a farewell tour, but the audience showed her time and again how much they appreciate her, and I'm hoping that the farewell is only to touring, not to all performing.
