JO DEE MESSINA IN CONCERT:

Country music just wouldn't be the same without Jo Dee Messina's spunky collection of hits and trademark red hair. Her catchy country tunes have dominated the charts since the '90s, and they're even more compelling live. Whether she's showcasing her vocal prowess on hits like "Head Carolina, Tails California" or sharing her spirited attitude with adoring concertgoers, Messina definitely knows how to get the crowd going, leading fans in fun sing-alongs and telling stories along the way. With the 2014 release of Me, her first new album in almost 10 years, Messina has fans fired up for her highly anticipated upcoming tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

A Massachusetts native, Jo Dee Messina started out singing in local clubs with her siblings, eventually attracting the attention of Curb Records and moving to Nashville. Her solo career kicked off in 1996 with her widely successful self-titled debut, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and produced two Top Ten singles. I'm Alright followed two years later and generated significant buzz with three No. 1 hits, ultimately going double platinum in the US. Since then, she's collaborated with Tim McGraw, toured with legends George Strait and The Judds, and sold over five million albums. With the desire to truly connect her fans to her music, Messina launched a Kickstarter campaign to support her 2014 album, reaching her goal in just 30 days due to her extremely dedicated fan base. Jo Dee Messina will treat audiences to her classics as well as new material from her fifth studio album Me on a string of upcoming shows.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

  • Too Loud!

by Whaleshark on 8/23/11Indian Ranch - WebsterRating: 2 out of 5

Maybe we are getting old, but the volume of the concert was so loud you could actually feel the vibrations. Hard to understand the words--just screaming. We love Indian Ranch. Have been going in a group for years. Bring or buy lunch, drnk, etc. Enjoy the band in the small seating area with tables before the show. Enjoyed the warm up band, although they were quite loud also. We did not enjoy Jo Dee Messina. Just too loud for us--nothing wrong with her.

  • JoDee is awesome!

by charle49 on 6/6/11Skagit Valley Casino Pacific Showroom - BowRating: 5 out of 5

We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of her show. It was great getting to know her. She was so personable and included the audience a lot. I will definitely go to see her again. I saw her many years ago at Emerald Downs with Young Country and she was great then. I think she is even better now. Have her back again please!

  • An amazing voice~

We've seen Jo Dee Messina many times before and it's always a great show. She's outdone herself again with this Music Room series! Great music and great fun!

  • Jo Dee Messina is and Excellent Artist

by Anonymous on 5/16/11Skagit Valley Casino Pacific Showroom - BowRating: 4 out of 5

I thought it was great that she interacted with the crowd and talked a little about her past. The seating was great, however I think it would have been a little more comfortable with some better chairs and maybe a little more spread out. All around Jo Dee was Amazing!

  • Great way to put on a show.

by pilife on 5/16/11Skagit Valley Casino Pacific Showroom - BowRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. The audience participation, the intimacy of the venue and Jo Dee herself made for a very unique experience. I would love to have a chance to see her again. My only wish is that the show had been longer.

This was one of the best performances I have seen in going to these type of events. Jo Dee was right on her talent and peformed almost 2 hours for the lucky ones in the 1st of 2 performances that night. Great Band backing her up and the sound coordinations was perfect to enjoy all of her great vocal talent. I didn't want the show to end...

  • Jo Dee was fabulous!!

    by AB5152 on 4/11/11Wildhorse Saloon - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I thought Jo Dee was fabulous!! The idea of a more intimate setting with her fans at the Wildhorse was a great idea. She answered any and all questions asked and she sang songs that were requested (not just her own)..She has had a tough road - I applaud her for her dedication to St. Jude's Hospital.

  • Jo Dee Messina was unbelievable!

by JDMM on 4/11/11Wildhorse Saloon - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert I have ever attended. Jo Dee Messina has amazing talent. She was fabulous as was her band. They were basically playing acoustically. Not only did she do her songs but she also took requests from the crowd. You won't find many artist that will do that. We met Jo Dee Messina at Fan Fest last year and she is truly a warm, friendly person. She was our favorite artist that we met and that is why we decided to go to this concert. My teenage son was with me and said it was his best concert ever. When I got home I started looking up concert dates to go see her again. Again, if you have a chance to see Jo Dee Messina I highly recommend you go!!!!!

'One she was two hour late and lives down the street . She talked most of the time and didn't sing. The money went to st. judes which is a great cause so I considered it a donation. I love her music but I wouldn't recommend ....

  • Unmistakable JoDee!

by thetnkitten on 4/11/11Wildhorse Saloon - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous time! JoDee has the talent to be a stand-up comedian if she wants! Great time for the audience whom she spent a great amount of time answering their questions, taking St. Jude donations and song requests. I have loved her music; now I love her!! Wildhorse's food (their cheese grits were ALMOST as good as mine, lol), accommodations for the smokers to go outside to a roped area, attendants in the restrooms, etc. was first class and what hospitality for the Nashville tourists. I was impressed and I live here!! Wildhorse was surprisingly a nicer, more intimate venue and I will be back! Go JoDee, go Wildhorse, welcome visitors! Extra treat for the night was the West Point Glee Club who had performed at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday and performed on stage for us. Wonderful harmony! How proud we were to see our young people willing to step up and serve this great country!

I enjoyed every minute of this concert. Absolutely loved it! AMAZING..

  • really enjoyed audience interaction and improv

by alraby on 4/11/11Wildhorse Saloon - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

My girlfriend and I had a great time and really enjoyed Jo Dee Messina and the way she went about presenting her music and including the audience by allowing questions and requests. It added to the overall performance and made it feel more live or real instead of just going through the motions of singing her songs. I would recommend her concert to anyone and already have.

  • JO DEE MESSINA

by MEMPHISKATHY on 4/11/11Wildhorse Saloon - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

She has an awesome voice and can sing anything. Since this was a benefit for ST Jude, she asked the audience lots of questions and told lots of stories. People made donations for special requests and she sang all kinds of songs! I hoped to hear some of her newest songs, but will have to go see her again for those.
