  • jj grey at the ritz

by monikerash on 1/1/12The Ritz Ybor - TampaRating: 4 out of 5

jj grey and mofro always put on an amazing show. i was unhappy that some of the venue speakers were obviously blown out because it detracted from what is usually something so pulsing and fervent. i hope the ritz gets it taken care of soon because it is normally a really fantastic venue!

Great to see him live! They sounded even better than on the albums and we had a great time!

  • JJ Grey & Mofro was better than I imagined!!!!!!!

I love the blues 'swamp' sound so I jumped on these tickets. The performance from beginning to end was outstanding! JJ Grey and Mofro love what they are doing. They had the crowd rockin'!! I saw 20 somethings to the old fart set (that would be me) in the audience and he had the whole place jumpin'! If they ever come this way again I'll be there.

  • JJ Rocks the House again!!

by BamaRatt on 11/7/11Vogue Theatre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

As always, JJ Grey & MOFRO did NOT disappoint. I drove all the way from St Charles, MO, to catch this show and it was worth every mile traveled. It was my first time at the Vogue and the venue is a great place for a concert. I would suggest people get there early if you don't want to stand as it was standing room only. However, once the band took the stage and began playing everything else just melted away. JJ is one-of-a-kind and his music is infectious and intoxicating. You can't help but tap your toes and move to the groove. The Swamp Funk is alive and well in Indianapolis!

  • AMAZING!!!!!

Tis show was amazing!! My second time seeing the group live!!! Can't wait for the 3rd!!! The crownd was huge, but I kept stepping on people and getting stepped on!! I'm so thankful that it was a non-smoking event!! I hope JJ gets better, I heard that he has been ill lately and I am praying for him every day!! JJ Grey and Mofro has become my favorite band, right up there with Pink Floyd, pre Pink Floyd break up!!!

  • The JJ Grey & Mofro show was AMAZING!

This was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. This was my 3rd time seeing them in concert. The opening band (Truth & Salvage Co.) was great, JJ Grey & Mofro were profound and the crowd (packed house) was awesome. JJ & the band show so much feeling and emotion in their music; I love when you are part of the crowd and you feel like they are playing the songs just for you - like they have never played this set of songs for anyone else. It was a great experience, so awesome! I will DEFINITELY be back to see them!

  • Just GO see JJ & Mofro

4th time to see them and this one was the best. They just keep getting better. I took a friend for her show and it was fun to see her get hooked by his music. Like the title says, Just GO see them.

Was pretty excited to see JJ Grey and Mofro since that is how the tickets were labeled and sold to me. However, once I received the tickets, it was a 2 hour DVD premier of his "Brighter days" and then just JJ Grey playing a few songs solo after the DVD. Not only were the songs repeats of the ones we just heard in the DVD but so were his jokes and stories. A little disappointed when I compare to their show I saw in Orlando a few years ago.

  • JJ Grey legend in the rough!!

by Robbytop on 9/27/11Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

What a great night. Nice small intimate venue, great movie premier and very long acoustic set with JJ to end the night!!! Bartenders actually knew how to make a good drink too!!! Highly recommend.

First I want to commend the staff at the PV Concert Hall. They were friendly, courteous and helpful. Created a very nice atmosphere from the front door on in. Felt welcomed. As for JJ Grey...I'm a relatively new fan and I can see why my son, John, has been a faithful fan/follower for the past 7 yrs. JJ gives his all when he performs and his passion impacts us individually and collectively. There were 10 in our group, ranging in age from 13 to 65 and we were ALL bobbing our heads, tapping our toes, singing and hollering along with JJ and the crowd. Oh yeah....even this "granny"! An evening well spent! Thanks and Blessings to you, JJ.

I enjoyed the DVD. The viewer definitely got to know a little more about JJ Grey and what inspires him. JJ Grey is funny and puts on an excellent show. The venue was nice and cozy, too! The staff was friendly and accommodating.

Good show, very talented musicians without a doubt. My recommendation to JJ would be more music and less storytelling

  • I want to see them again as the headliner.

    by KH60s on 8/21/11Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 5 out of 5

I found JJ Grey and Mofro through Alligator a label of which I'm a huge fan. Grey and crew completely upstaged Jonny Lang for who they opened. Everyone in JJ Grey and Mofro are seriously talented musicians and entertainers. They know how to connect with and entertain the crowd, extremely well. I'm glad I'm in Austin so I'll have more opportunities to see them as the headliner. Alligator knows how to sign real talent and let it shine.

  • JJ Grey & Mofro and a suprising Ponderosa!!

    by Blue2Cool on 2/8/11The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Great show and suprising new band Ponderosa. We thought there was no opening band and we were treated to a great bonus band. Ponderosa was great, raw and real. I just bought their CD yesterday. JJ Grey and Mofro kicked butt as usuall. Can't wait till they return.

  • Absolutely Fantastic

JJ and Mofro just flat out rock the house. They put on an amazing show and definitely give you your money's worth!!!!

  • Excellent Show!

by jjfire on 2/7/11The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

JJ Grey and Mofro was great as usual. Their rock-a-billy blues made for a great main event. They also chose an amazing opening act in Ponderosa. I wish these two bands would come to St. Louis together at least once a year. I would look forward to that with the same anticipation as I do for DMB. What a great show!!!!!!!!!!!!!
