Jewel in Concert
Jewel is the rare artist who can mesmerize audiences with just an acoustic guitar and her voice. Not only is the Grammy-nominated songwriter a masterful storyteller, but she's also an expressive singer who takes a variety of approaches — raspy whispers, a powerful warble, and even a signature, awe-inspiring yodel — to convey the emotion within her folk, pop, and country tunes. Still, Jewel's 2018 Handmade Holiday Tour, a seasonal song-filled show with a pre-concert chance to make gifts, is a veritable family affair. As with the 2017 iteration of the festive jaunt, special guests include her dad, Atz (who also stars on the reality show ‘Alaska: The Last Frontier') and brothers Atz Lee and Nikos Kilcher.
About Jewel
Jewel Kilcher was brought up on a farm in rural Alaska, but started playing music from a very young age. As a child, she performed with her father, touring a circuit of hotels and bars; later, as a teenager, she studied operatic voice at Michigan's Interlochen Arts Academy. However, Jewel's career breakthrough came in early 1990s San Diego: Discovered while living in her van and playing coffeehouses, she landed a major-label record deal and released 1995's multi-platinum ‘Pieces of You,' an insightful folk-pop collection that spawned two Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 hits, "You Were Meant for Me" and "Foolish Games," and the haunting meditation "Who Will Save Your Soul." In subsequent years, Jewel expanded her fanbase by dabbling in both mainstream pop (the slinky single "Intuition" peaked at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100) and country. But in a testament to her formidable talents, she also became a successful author — her 1999 poetry collection ‘A Night Without Armor' landed on the New York Times' best-seller list — and launched an acting career. Most notably, she portrayed June Carter Cash in the 2013 TV movie ‘Ring of Fire.'
This was my first time seeing Jewel in person and I have to tell you she was absolutely amazing! Her voice is the most beautiful voice especially in person! She was funny and very receptive to requests! So glad I bought tickets to see her!! Thank you Jewel for such a great concert!
An angelic voice and acclaimed singer/song writer - each song is personal but truly resonates. Jewel is perhaps the most underrated singer of the last thirty years. Her music, only gets better with time…you will not be disappointed!
First time seeing Jewel. She exceeded my expectations. Would love to see her again someday. Opening acts were both good. New venue is very nice.
The best vocal performance I’ve heard. In a word, outstanding. I had no idea what I was about to experience, and it turned out to completely amaze me. Jewel, an amazing artist and a wonderful person.
Went to see Jewel who was really great! She had no play list, just took audience requests and played a few songs not on her library. The two openers where also very good. Edwin McCain was funny and shared songs I'd forgotten. Gina Miles has as great voice and a bit nervice, her first love performance other than the Voice. Was a great evening!
We loved every second! Loved the stories and her voice I can listen to all day. She was truly incredible. I also really liked the venue, we will be back!
Very disappointing to see such a legit person, talent, and performer turn into a Whitney Houston style diva. It was painful...

I absolutely loved her in concert. I cried so many times throughout her performances, every breath, and every lyric all has meaning depth and weight Jewel brought out the very best of herself she could bring and did not disappoint. She wanted to go over and over and they wouldn’t let her due to the casino wanting people to go gamble but it was a 3 1/2 hour concert with her into opening acts, and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. I will definitely go see her again what an incredible artist!!!!!

I literally cryed when she came out I was so freaking excited to finally see her in person- it was the best concert I’ve ever been to have to see her again I couldn’t stay till the end my daughter got sick from the long travel to get there :(
Me and my Mom saw her as an opening act for Train. She was incredibly down to earth and sweet! It was pouring rain and there some empty seats. She told everyone on the lawn to come down and grab a seat and if anyone stops you tell them Jewel sent you! 😂 She is beyond talented in singing, as a musician and song writer! I will totally come back and see her!!
Intimate, authentic and just an amazing evening at the first concert ever at this historic theater. Staff and service were amazing and Jewell absolutely crushed it. Wow!!!!
Jewel was amazing and her storytelling even better. We had a wonderful intimate time with one of our favorite singer/songwriters. Not to mention seeing a concert at the Riviera Theater after living in Charleston for 30 years was a treat!
I was lucky to buy front row seats to this amazing and heartwarming show! Jewel shares many of her life stories and explains how her songs reflect her experiences. She had led a fascinating life with many challenges but somehow has come through it all with a positive attitude and it all makes for an extremely entertaining evening. The theatre was beautiful and I would like to see more shows in this intimate venue. I highly recommend!

A very sad performance by Jewel and family. I couldn't wait for it to be over!!! I felt bad for my husband because he is a huge fan of Jewel and was really looking forward to seeing her in concert. FYE Most everyone in America rose came from another country and had to work from nothing only they couldn't afford video cameras or lost pictures, stores etc. due to hardships. Isn't it strange how some people think they are entitled and better than others. Something I really thought Jewel got evidently it's all an act. :-(
While I've always loved Jewel's music, I felt like this was more of a family affair. I enjoyed a little of their music but I paid to hear her sing, not her family. Don't get me wrong, I am very family oriented, just disappointed.
Best concert of the year!! Jewel was amazing and her family was very entertaining.
