    Excellent College Production

by ILoveJenn on 11/7/16Ruth N Halls Theatre - Bloomington

I enjoyed the play tremendously. I know I am being picky but Judas character was very weak in acting and voice. Rest were very good and made the show enjoyable. A little raunchy Temple scene but overall an enjoyable show.

Jesus Christ Superstar is a MUST SEE!

by TataNanaPrincess on 9/17/15California Theatre of the Performing Arts - San Bernardino

My husband has been a fan since he was very young, knows all songs word for word. His father was a big influence in his life and shared this with him. It was AMAZING, an unforgettable time and very emotional for us. We also took our Granddaughter who is 13 years old. She LOVED IT! I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

Nice Telling of the Webber Musical

by DTFanFromLI on 9/16/15California Theatre of the Performing Arts - San Bernardino

While not Broadway-level entertainment, this stripped down production had some nice touches and energetic performances for a local theater experience... very-nicely staged crucifixion and resurrection sequences.

    High School or College Production??

by JM2andR3 on 9/15/15California Theatre of the Performing Arts - San Bernardino

Been a fan of JCS since the 70's. Seen many versions in New York and in SoCal. This was the worse. The sound system disturbing if a professional production. Cracking and disruptive. I know the lyrics to all the songs so I know what is being sung but those near me commented at intermission they couldn't understand.. The 2nd Act was better (Herod Excellent) but they changed the ending by showing a risen Jesus and the crowd reacting which didn't make sense since the final Is between Judas and Jesus. When I pay money to see a professional show, I expect that, not average actors who struggle to reach the high notes or the very low notes required by Caiaphas spell Caiphas in the photocopied program. I now know to give the San Bernardino Theatre a second look before buying any seats in the future. I do not recommend this production of JCS. Luckily it only play on Saturday.
