Jessie Reyez in Concert
Combining unapologetic lyrics with in-your-face vocals, Toronto-born singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez is one of pop's brashest personalities. Reyez played guitar as a child and realized she was a music writer while in high school. In 2014 she collaborated with Chicago-based MC King Louie on his Canada-saluting track "Living in the Sky." In 2016 she broke through on her own with "Figures," a stark post-breakup track paired with a gripping video that showcased Reyez's raw feeling. "Evoking emotion from people is always a byproduct," Reyez told Genius. "It's not like I aimed to do that, but it's a beautiful byproduct that happens to come from certain songs."
Now, as a recipient of a JUNO award, 2018 Breakthrough Artist of the Year, she could say her subsequent catalog has been an object lesson in releasing that byproduct. Her debut EP, 2017's 'Kiddo,' was steeped in feeling while also showing off her musical range and the delirious "Shutter Island" pairs her yowl with macabre carnival music, while "Great One" shows off her softer side, its plush synths allowing her to luxuriate in existential questions like "What is life? What is love? What is time? What is choice?" The harrowing 'Kiddo' track "Gatekeeper," accompanied by a short film that she cowrote, turned a #MeToo-worthy experience from years ago that almost led to her quitting the music business into an artistic triumph.
While gearing up for the release of her second EP, 'Being Human in Public,' Reyez has kept busy with guest appearances and relentless touring. Her reworking of "Figures," performed with fellow Canadian Daniel Caesar at the 2018 JUNO Awards, added a dramatic twist to the song's heartbroken narrative; her turn as Eminem's foil on the controversial MC's 2018 track "Nice Guy" shows how she can hold her own against music's biggest names; and her performances at festivals like Lollapalooza and Afropunk have electrified huge crowds. Reyez's rise is proof that pure feeling can be a powerful connector.

I enjoy every time I get to see Jessie on stage. Her interactions with the crowd in addition to her captivating voice makes each experience soo memorable! This event was sooo intimate and she did an amazing job - per normal. Definitely my most favorite show thus far and I cannot wait to see her on tour!!!!

I love Jessie Reyes I bought these tickets because I found out she was going to be opening I cried when she went on stage she is truly a wonderful artist and has a beautiful soul I wish more people knew her music can’t wait to see her whenever she has another one where I can go again . Her music just always relatable and has gotten me through some of the darkest days and made them not so dark .
this tour was the first time i had seen her or even heard about her she is one of the best singers i have ever heard her story was just mind blowing but now i can’t stop listening
It is so sad how underrated Jessie Reyez is. She is truly so amazingly talented. She’s not just an incredible artist, but she’s also an entertainer. She knows how to engage with the crowd and get people going. And funny too. She’s most definitely someone you should experience live.
shes such an amazing performer. she makes her concerts fun & so interactive with the audience. if you enjoy angry sad & just music that you can feel in your soul, you’d love her ! i highly suggest everyone to attend a show. she’s seriously is insanely good

This concert was amazing it could have not been any better ! Jessie Reyez is even better live the experience was like no other. The lighting the crowd and even the opening performers ! Jessie makes music that actually has meaning. her latest album YESSIE is perfection. Every single song was a hit so I knew I had to experience it live and i'm so glad I did. Experiencing her live just made me a even bigger fan. When she performs she really connects with the crowd and makes sure everyone is having a good time. She's just so authentic and genuine. LOVE HER !
Jessie, was sooo amazing her vocals were insane! I loved how she really connected with the crowd. You could feel how grateful and happy she was to be there. I was only sad when it was over. I wanted to hear her singing more! So happy for her and can't wait to see her blow up for real! Next time in Madison Square Garden!!!!

One thing is for sure a live show with Jessie is never disappointing. I’ve been able to meet her in more intimate settings, online and many concerts. Jessie expresses her emotions personally and to her audience in a beautiful way during her concert. She took the time to interact with many fans individually. Jessie really goes above and beyond.

Jessie is one of the most powerful performers I’ve ever seen, it was like magic. She sang every song I wanted to hear and then some not even on the set list. 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

The perfect concert from start to finish, including the opening acts, been to plenty concerts but I've never seen a venue that packed the second the doors open, Jessie Reyez is just incredible, I had a really good time, also the first time I've lined up with no hesitation to buy merch, absolutely no regrets about going to this concert, also love the venue (History), I feel safer in this venue then I do in a police station, the security guards are top notch and extremely professional.
