Jeremy Piven On Tour

Jeremy Piven has played many roles and had many achievements in his four-decade career in entertainment. But when it comes to stand-up comedy, he wants audiences to know he's "all in." That's been the performer's attitude since he returned to the stages of clubs and theaters in 2018 with a high-energy, quick-witted act that's a testament to Piven's deep roots in the comedy world.

Long before Piven was cutting deals and berating assistants as Ari Gold on the HBO hit Entourage, he was cutting his teeth as a performer at Second City. Born into a theater family in Chicago, Piven developed his improv and sketch skills at the comedy institution before becoming a member of Second City's touring company. He got many more opportunities to show off his wit in breakout acting appearances, which included his recurring role opposite Garry Shandling on The Larry Sanders Show and stints on such iconic sitcoms as Seinfeld and Ellen. Along with turns in Hollywood hits like Old School and Very Bad Things, he gave some highly memorable onscreen support to his longtime friend John Cusack in films like Grosse Pointe Blank.

With the debut of Entourage in 2004, Piven became one of the most honored actors on television, scoring three Emmys and one Golden Globe for his performance as the hot-tempered Hollywood agent. Yet Piven still made time for live performances, including his first-ever appearance as a stand-up at Montreal's Just for Laughs festival in 2008. In 2017, he showed off his dramatic skills when he led the cast of the CBS drama Wisdom of the Crowd.

Piven's foray into stand-up was inspired by the excitement he felt while preparing for a charity show in Los Angeles co-hosted by Russell Peters. The Canadian comedy superstar was so impressed by the determination and intelligence that Piven showed in developing his material, Peters encouraged him to create an act that really demonstrated what he can do. Following his successful run of dates in clubs and theaters in the U.S. and Canada in 2018 - along with recent shows in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv - Piven returns for a new run of stand-up shows.

  • Disappointing

by Bring back Ari Gold! on 6/12/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 2 out of 5

Opening act was funny and entertaining, a good 20 min start to the show. Then Jeremy only did 40 minutes. The entire show was only about an hour long. Could have used a second opener. Glad I only paid $40 per ticket for me and my wife. Jeremy is a very good and well trained Comedic Actor, he is not a stand up comic! His stories from his acting career and about playing Ari Gold in Entourage were great and entertaining, however the rest of his act was not good. He should have stuck to what people wanted to hear and know him from. He did not know his jokes or setlist very well and kept looking at his cell phone to get notes or see what he wanted to say next. Just not very prepared or polished. I think he is working out the kinks to his new life trying to either make it as a standup or filling time before his next acting job. I don't think people cared too much about his personal life which sounded very depressing and wanted to hear about what they loved about him!

  • Hilarious

Having watched Entourage, I only knew Piven as an actor. I didn’t know what to expect at his show. Thinking he might speak to his career, was wowed by his comedic chops. While telling life stories and speaking of current culture, he infused wit and perspective and impressions of other Hollywood elite to have us laughing out loud. He is so clever and talented!

  • Less than average

by ComicFan on 6/11/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 1 out of 5

The venue was great, zero complaints. The new bigger chairs are so comfortable and nice. Jeremy Piven? Super disappointed. I bought these tickets for my husband because we were big Entourage fans. I went in knowing he wasn't really a stand up so planned on giving him some grace but I don't feel like he deserved it. He pretty much just whined about LA and being single most of the time. You could tell he was miserable being up there and didn't want to be doing it. He also kept looking at his phone that was on the stool multiple times for notes. I have never seen a comedian (we go to a lot of shows) do that- not an opener much less the main attraction. The opener was actually better than him to be honest.

Saw Jeremy tonight in Napa. Huge fan and he did not disappoint. He was funny, quick on the draw, and just awesome to be in a room (theater) with. Thank you for a great evening.

  • Awesome Show in Philadelphia

by Cigar Buddy on 10/11/22Rivers Casino Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

Jeremy Piven is a seasoned stand-up comedian with razor sharp wit and masterful timing. He talks to his audience as if we are a gathering of his closest friends while sharing hilarious anecdotes about his life and times in show business. He is truly someone I would like to call my friend and hang out with in a cigar lounge and shoot the breeze. I recommend his show highly to all because a good time was surely had by all in attendance.

JP was not prepared and didn’t seem to be in a good place overall.

  • Thumbs down

by Randi Gropack on 10/11/22Rivers Casino Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 1 out of 5

Jeremy Pivens is definitely not a standup comic. The audience was begging for his Ari Gold character which obviously annoyed him. For 45 minutes I watched him constantly light up his cigar as I was waiting for a funny line. There was only smoke and absolutely no fire.

  • Wish he stayed on stage longer :(

by Kristen on 10/11/22Rivers Casino Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

Luckily, I was already staying in Atlantic City so Philly was only an hour away. I’m still a little bummed out though because I spent over $300 on three front row tickets, & he was only on stage for 45 minutes, when his sets I heard are supposed to last 90 min. The lady next to my friends said she spent $40 on her tickets, which would’ve been more worth it for a 45 min set. Overall, I loved it though! He was hilarious, & he’s also such an attractive man which was such a plus. Can’t wait to see him again!

He had a few good stories, but he was mostly hemming and hawing and he did not seem prepared with enough material. I would not pay to see him again.
