About

Jennifer Nettles music has been with us for so long, it is easy for ticket buyers to forget that she is only now starting her journey as a solo artist. For nearly a decade, Nettles has lent her alternately smoky, soulful and sassy voice to the country music duo Sugarland, and in the process netted two Grammys to go along with five Academy of Country Music Awards, and five #1 Country singles. During those years, Sugarland's music grew exponentially, with 2010's The Incredible Machine, an album filled with anthemic rockers meant to fill stadiums, expanding the very idea of what country music is and can be. Now, after the Georgia native took time away from her band's relentless tour schedule to become a mom, Nettles is spreading her wings as a solo act. For "That Girl," the first single of the forthcoming record, Nettles builds on the other woman persona that she adopted in the Sugarland hit "Stay," adding sultriness with the addition of Latin rhythms. With legendary producer Rick Rubin at the helm of the new project, it's safe to expect even more surprising platforms for Nettles's rich, emotional instrument both on record and in concert.

  • Jennifer Delivers in Spades!

by RichGator on 2/28/14Florida Theatre Jacksonville - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

What a show Jennifer delivered in Jacksonville! Our audience was on their feet through much of the show. When she sang "Why Don't You Stay", it brought the house down. I had not heard many of her new songs, but I will be buying her new album. I hope she keeps Jacksonville on her tour stop in the future.

Jennifer Nettles puts on an amazing show. More intimate than when the concert is in a huge arena. She is an awesome entertainer who leaves you wanting more. Loved it!

What an amazing voice, singing her own songs with such power and clarity. . One of the very few artists who sound as good or better live as they do recorded. Country music has way too many good ole boys and girls singing about getting drunk in the truck on Saturday night. It is refreshing and uplifting to hear songs with more sophistication yet still very much country. I hope in the future she sings some of her earlier solo songs, before sugar land. If you get the chance see jennifer live don't miss her!

  • Jennifer Nettles and Brandy Clark Feb. 21, 2014

by GulfRedfish on 2/24/14Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

Jennifer started right on time and I was not disappointed at all. She was awesome, appreciated all her fans. Just a great concert. My only disappointment was I purchased these tickets and again standing and my wife is only 5'1" and there was a guy in front of her that was 6'6'' and huge man. Then finally half way through the concert he left which was okay for me and my wife but that was my only regret that we could not see very well during the first half of the concert.

  • Amazing venue and artist!

    by RockRoll57 on 2/24/14Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The Ryman auditorium transforms you back 100 years and great acoustics. Brady Clark was a wonderful surprise of an introduction for me to this song writer. Then there is Jennifer Nettles, she presented her soul on a musical tray. Truly amazing!

Jennifer Nettles played mainly songs from her new album. I was not very familiar with them but needless to say....she is great! She is so emotionally involved in her music and her fans. She just appears to be a happy person. :)

  • Best show I've seen in Nashville in years!

  • Jennifer was great

by poloraidman on 2/24/14Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 4 out of 5

was more like a rock concert, I had been to concerts at the Hard Rock before, but this was first one with the main floor was everyone standing and no chairs. That made it more like rock concert, everyone walking to bar, talking during concert, which was Ok. But I missed having jennifer, play a song and sing all my herself, without the band, because she is awsum and should do a couple songs without the band, she is totally a knock out blow you away performer when she does that.

  • Awesomeness

I loved the That Girl show featuring Jennifer Nettles and Brandy Clark - it was an awesome night and I would love for the show to come Louisville, KY so I can see it again. I love listening to Jennifer sing and Brandy was great too.

  • Jennifer's voice was outstanding!

by Garelle on 2/24/14Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

From the opening song, "That Girl" until the encore, Jennifer shared the words of her songs with her perfect voice. Between her new songs, the crowd was treated with some of her hits with Sugarland. She enjoys performing. The stage setting complimented each song.

  • Jennifer Nettles was Awesome

by ColonelSa on 2/24/14Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Jennifer Nettles was what I expected and more. She did a lot of new songs and did the songs we all came to here. What a great voice and personality. I would go see her again next week.

  • Jennifer was incredible.

by Metmanga on 2/24/14Hard Rock Live - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

Jennifer mixed some of her Sugarland songs with her new Album 'That Girl'. She interacted with the audience; including taking a fan's phone and FaceTime with someone on the other end. Jennifer's voice is just amazing. I've seen Sugarland perform dozens of times and her solo presentation compares very favorably. I strongly recommend attending a Jennifer Nettles show.

  • Amazing singer!

    by dle727 on 2/23/14Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We've always been a huge fan of Sugarland, but we weren't sure what to expect with Jennifer's solo tour. We shouldn't have been concerned at all, because she's the same amazing singer with the same quirky, funny personality as always. She even threw in several Suglarland hits during her set. Brandy Clark opened the show with just an acoustic guitar and her songs and voice were very engaging. The blend of the two of them together was a perfect pairing.

  • Jennifer was Awesome!!

Jennifer was awesome, sounded great and did her new stuff along with some of her oldies

  • A must see artist AND venue!

by Blantation on 2/23/14Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I am even more impressed with Jennifer Nettles after seeing her live. The power of her voice and sincerity of her performance made it a total must see. The Ryman is a wonderful, intimate venue. I don't see how there could be a bad seat in the house.

  • by Anonymous on 2/23/14Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Needed better mix of old Sugarland songs. STAY should have been played for sure.
