About

Coolidge is known for her supporting roles in many comedy movies and guest spots on television. She is best known for playing "Stifler's mom," the consummate "MILF," in the American Pie films, though she is also known for supporting parts in other films, including Hilary Duff's stepmother in A Cinderella Story, Paulette, the manicurist in Legally Blonde and its sequel, and the voice of Aunt Fanny in the animated feature Robots.

She has played comic parts in the improv mockumentaries Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration directed by Christopher Guest. She also appeared in the 2006 film Date Movie as a spoof of Barbra Streisand's Meet the Fockers character. Epic Movie, the first movie she had a starring role in, released in 2007 and was made by the same people behind Date Movie; in it, she played the "White Bitch" (the White Witch) of Gnarnia (Narnia), a lampoon of the Disney and Walden Media film The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Coolidge had a regular role in the NBC sitcom Joey as Joey's agent, appearing in 37 out of 46 episodes in the series. She originally starred in an episode of Friends in its final season as Amanda, a tactless and uninhibited wannabe whom Phoebe and Monica try to shake off. Prior to her Friends appearance she was a regular on She TV, a very short-lived sketch comedy that also featured Nick Bakay, Elon Gold, Simbi Khali, and Linda Kash. She also has appeared on According to Jim, playing Jim's sister and in an episode of Sex and the City, and on Frasier as Frederica, Martin Crane's new physical therapist. Coolidge also appeared in the kiddie comedy Slappy and the Stinkers and as Adam Sandler's wife's friend, Janine, in the 2006 comedy film Click.

Coolidge made one of her first appearances in the Seinfeld episode "The Masseuse". She also had a recurring role on King of the Hill as Luanne's beauty school teacher, Miss Kremzer. In 2006, she guest starred on an episode of Top Chef.
Most recently, Coolidge appeared on Thank God You're Here and The Closer, on TNT. In 2008, she guest starred on The Secret Life of the American Teenager as a call girl. She also starred in Living Proof a Lifetime movie.

In 2005, Coolidge was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

    Did excellent stand-up act.

    by MEK on 1/22/24

Saw the stand-up comedy show (back then), knew she was destined for bigger and greater things. So thrilled that she continues to work and STEAL almost every show she is cast in. TALENT TALENT TALENT

    Jennifer Coolidge was hilarious--

by Cris18273728 on 4/1/15Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

The main act was great. Jennifer Coolidge had me cracking up. However, I thought the opening act was a little over the top and I didn't like the waiting staff service very much.

    Horrible!!

by Cobbfan on 3/31/15Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

This is the first time at Cobb's that I wanted to walk out. I saw other couples leaving as well. Just not funny. Did not go to hear story telling. I laughed 3 times. The opening comic was just as bad!

    Really not worth it

by JDQC on 3/30/15Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

I love stand-up, but this performance was honestly just not good. It was Jennifer Coolidge talking about herself for a few hours, without really any semblance of organization or humor. Many people, including us, walked out about halfway through.

Jennifer Coolidge: spend your night out elsewhere!

by Rowdy4721 on 3/30/15Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

Cobbs is a great venue for standup and generally book solid performers. Jennifer Coolidge was not entertaining. The rare laugh she did get was out of courtesy rather than anything funny she tried to say. Her bit was scattered and amateur.

    Jennifer shoots from the hip

by opinz on 2/15/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Although I am a Jennifer Coolidge fan, I don't think she was as prepared as she should have been to do a standup routine. She is a great comic actress and improvisationalist, but her standup routine isn't consistently funny. The writing is weak, and she didn't always seem sure where she was going with some of her stories. She struggled sometimes to express what she wanted to say. It seemed quite amateurish. It was sweet yet odd when she brought her 90-year-old father up on the stage at the end of the show to have the audience sing him "Happy Birthday", accompanied by a band of musicians that no one could hear. Given how gratuitously raunchy a lot of her routine was (wiithout being very funny), it was uncomfortable to see that her dad was in the audience.

    Jennifer Was Hilarious!

    by aggieren04 on 2/15/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Jennifer Coolidge is remarkably funny! I enjoyed listening to her stories, and watching her tell them. The Wilbur Theater is a great place to see any show. Intimate, and easy to see the stage.
