About

No musical has ever held you like JEKYLL & HYDE. The musical thriller that haunted Broadway for nearly four years has been reborn… reimagined… and reenergized with two brand new stars – Tony® Nominee Constantine Maroulis and Grammy® Nominee Deborah Cox.

This dark and dangerous love story returns in a stunning new production that includes all the classic songs (“This is the Moment”, “A New Life”, “Someone Like You”) that first grabbed audiences by the throat and transformed JEKYLL & HYDE into a four-time Tony Award nominated theatrical phenomenon. Conceived for the stage by Tony and Grammy Award nominee Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, JEKYLL & HYDE features a book & lyrics by two-time Oscar winner, Emmy winner and four-time Tony Award nominee Leslie Bricusse, music by Frank Wildhorn, and direction & choreography by Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun.

    Disappointing

by jdrocker on 5/13/13Marquis Theatre - New York

We had anticipated seeing this show for a few months, but was disappointed with the overall production. I think there were some good moments with the singing, but over all the stag production was not very good. I found out on the day I saw it, the show was cancelled and would close the following night. I'm not surprised.

    Jekyll and Hyde the Best!

by Vampiresweet on 5/13/13Marquis Theatre - New York

I saw the play back a few tears ago, Linda Edda was in it at that time , I thought no one could sing those songs like her but, Debra Cox came very good. Constine was wonderful he put his heart and sole in every number. Love it all.

    Best Jekyll & Hyde ever

by peeweebaxter on 5/13/13Marquis Theatre - New York

We saw this show Saturday. It was unbelievabe. we saw the original and this is by far a million times better. The voices were better than any I have ever heard. Constantine and Deborah were superb. People were not only clapping after their songs but yelling praises. I almost wanted to give a standing ovation after this is the moment. If anyone is in doubt about what to see. This is the show to see. We have seen almost every current show on broadway and this has got to be in the top five. The only criticism I have is that the one number at the end where jeckyll and hyde are singing to each other and the actor flips his head back and forth on one side jeckyll the other hyde is eliminated. The song is still there but with modern technology up on ascreen is hyde trying not to let jeckly take over and constantine is on the stage moving about as if hyde is taking over his body but there is no flipping his head back and forth like on the original which I thought was wrong of the producers to remove this great scene but regardless I would still see this show over and over. Constantine is not only a great singer but a great actor and deborah cox what can I say. beautiful and amazing voice. Run dont walk to see this show before it closes.

Jekyll & Hyde was very disappointing

by jetsgirl15 on 5/13/13Marquis Theatre - New York

Unfortunately this show was very disappointing, there were so many open seats that we were able to move from the 2nd to last row in the balcony to the 1st row. The only highlight of the show was Deborah Cox, she was fantastic.

Jekyll & Hyde: Heckles and Chides

by BroadwayBond on 5/13/13Marquis Theatre - New York

Love Wildhorn. His musicality resonates through his works. His short-lived Wonderland and passionate and heartbreaking Civil War are excellent examples of his genius in bringing character, time, place, and circumstance together for his audiences. Jekyll and Hyde was a brilliant first foray for him with soaring ballads and raucous come-ons for men to sample the women or the searing reproach of people who are not who they appear to be. These songs were brilliantly performed in the original production with all the complex emotion (and breath control) built in. Their performances were pure and they revealed the beauty and "true nature" of Wildhorn's music and Bricusse's lyrics. Perhaps the early demise of this production was for the best. Although I anticipated an exceptional production, I received a beautifully staged (except for the silly and confusing ropes which were not used to enhance the song in any way) lit, and costumed Broadway show that somehow took the score and American Idolized it with riffs and renovations that detracted so much that I literally did not recognize the songs I have come to love from the show. As Jekyll stabbed himself at the end, I saw that as a fitting tribute to this production. I wanted so much more and I got so much less.

    Vocals were awesome

by yopaulie5 on 5/12/13Marquis Theatre - New York

Overall, thought the play was very good. Constantine and Deborah were outstanding vocally in their roles. Liked some of the tweaks that were made to update from the original version. Kinda surprised that the theater was probably half full on a Friday night.

Hold on to your seats. JUST INCREDIBLE. Constantine and Debby can sing and prove it. They won't let you down. What a ride.

Amazing show! This was my first Broadway show, and I loved it. Great story, excellent cast, fantastic voices. I sat in the last row, and the seats were still great.

The lead singers were very good

by Thriller2013 on 5/8/13Marquis Theatre - New York

I thought the show was good, but not not my favorite. The story was just so, so. Deborah Cox and the lead guy were amazing vocalists though. If you want to see a Diva and a broadway experience, check it out. It wasn't too memorable for me, though.

    Dis O. Pointed

by MarkonBroadway on 5/8/13Marquis Theatre - New York

I love the music of Jekyl and Hyde...and Frank Wildhorn...I have every concept album and saw Linda Eder in the original and Luba Mason. I'm a big fan of Deborah Cox and have every CD she has put out...so you can imagine how bad this show must have been for me to leave at intermission. Closing on Sunday...I wish it closed five days earlier and saved me the time and money. Constantine was painful to watch and listen to.

Not as good as the original

by Valerbee on 5/7/13Marquis Theatre - New York

I saw this show when I was 16 before it went to Broadway and then went to Broadway to see it several times before it closed and have listened to the CD ever since. I was eastatic when I heard the revival was coming out. However, this new version isn't as good as the origional. I love the new version of Bring on the Men though, I always hated the Good and Evil song. The singing in this was HORRIBLE. I guess the lead stars are supposed to be popular singers or something but their voices are NOT broadway quality. It's hard to believe Anthony Warlow (who played Jekyll/Hyde in the past) is singing the part of Daddy Warbucks a few blocks over. The changes to Facade and Murder are stupid and those songs drag on forever. Even the way In His Eyes was done in this version is confusing and having both actresses walk around on stage rather than singing in their bedrooms, doesn't work. Frank Wildhorn is my favorite composer. He is the most unappreciated composer on Broadway today. I love all of his shows. But the singing in this one made me cringe at times (especially the man who played Jekyll/Hyde and the people on the board of governers) who did the casting for this?

    What a Disappointment

by cmooney2450 on 5/7/13Marquis Theatre - New York

Having seen the original Broadway production with Linda Eder three times, I couldn't wait for this revival. I bought my full price tickets in February for the front row center mezzanine. You can imagine my surprise when the entire mezzanine was empty this past Sunday afternoon. I soon learned why. Constantine's performance was completely out of synch with the rest or the company. Where was the director? The entire cast was in turn of the century mode, playing it straight and the lead was screaming like his nominated performance in Rock of Ages. I can't tell you how disappointed I was. I'm continuing to play the original cast album over and over to get his horrible interpretation of shrieking Jekyll out of my head.

    Jekyll and Hyde -- Constantine!

by MAU1208 on 5/7/13Marquis Theatre - New York

"Jekyll and Hyde" is exciting and thrilling! Constantine Maroulis is a great Jekyll and an outstanding Hyde! Deborah Cox and Teal Wicks are great as the two women in his/their lives!
