About

No musical has ever held you like JEKYLL & HYDE. The musical thriller that haunted Broadway for nearly four years has been reborn… reimagined… and reenergized with two brand new stars – Tony® Nominee Constantine Maroulis and Grammy® Nominee Deborah Cox.

This dark and dangerous love story returns in a stunning new production that includes all the classic songs (“This is the Moment”, “A New Life”, “Someone Like You”) that first grabbed audiences by the throat and transformed JEKYLL & HYDE into a four-time Tony Award nominated theatrical phenomenon. Conceived for the stage by Tony and Grammy Award nominee Frank Wildhorn and Steve Cuden, JEKYLL & HYDE features a book & lyrics by two-time Oscar winner, Emmy winner and four-time Tony Award nominee Leslie Bricusse, music by Frank Wildhorn, and direction & choreography by Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun.

    Jekyll & Hyde was awesome!

by boobalaa on 4/22/13Marquis Theatre - New York

The music and lyrics were very emotional and the singing was fantastic. Deborah Cox's pitch was without fail, reinforcing the reason as to why she is a Grammy winner. Constantine Mouralas was just incredible as he really transformed himself between the two characters onstage making me believe each one....and his singing reflected that also. Its a pyschologically intense show and worth seeing.

Jekyll and Hyde is a "must see"!

by NWGG on 4/22/13Marquis Theatre - New York

This updated version of the hit show was brilliant. Deborah Cox and Constantine turned the show into an edgy rock performance. The sets and visual effects were unbelievable, especially during The Confrontation. I will be seeing this again.

    disappointment

by idsokay on 4/22/13Marquis Theatre - New York

I have seen numerous productions of this show from the original many years ago to performances by local theater companies. I am extremely familiar with the musical numbers and dialog. This production was disappointing. First, the scenery left much to be desired. You could see that an effort was made to cut costs at the expense of enhancing the story. Too bad. The staging of both the 'Façade' and 'Murder' numbers was poor. Needed better use of interplay among performers. In addition, the initial scene between Jekyll and his father was disturbing. A terrible statement on mental illness. No sensitivity in both the interplay and staging. Incongruous with the songs lyrics. The scene in which Jekyll takes the experimental serum was awful The vials and tube hood-ups was bizarre. The original score had Jekyll saying . . .'I have injected . . .' etc. Injected? This was a poor joke. Also where were 'Conflict Between Good and Evil' and the interplay between Emma and her erstwhile suitor Simon at the engagement party i.e. "I am complete"? And the last and, to me, most glaring disappointment, was the scene of the conflict between Jekyll and Hyde which, in all productions I've seen, was the jewel in the star's crown. - a visceral demonstration of the duality. This was replaced by a lame interplay between Jekyll and the scenery effects. Ugh! Perhaps the 'star' was unable to carry off this piece as originally written. Poor casting then.

    Memorable Talent

by Superlioness on 4/22/13Marquis Theatre - New York

Both Constantine and Deborah Cox deliver memorable performances. You can feel the emotion of their characters while being mesmerized by their vocal talents. The pace is fast moving. While the story is based on a classic novel, the current day prevalence of bi-polar disorders makes this a fascinating reminder that mental illness is not a new social phenomenon.

    Jekyll and Hyde was fantastic!!!

by Eliamarie on 4/22/13Marquis Theatre - New York

This has been one of the best plays I have seen. I would easily compare it to the Phantom of the Opera and predict it be as successful. The voice of the lead male singer is captivating. I felt pulled into the story. It is a must see play, one that I will see again.

    Fantastic

by ShannonBg3211 on 4/21/13Marquis Theatre - New York

I frequently go to plays. In the last two months, I have seen Wicked, Orphans, Lucky Guy, Book of Mormon, and Jekyll & Hyde. Out of all of these the one I recommend the most (of course, all of the others come in at a close second) is Jekyll and Hyde. Constantine Maroulis is absolute perfection in his role. Multiple times throughout his and the other performances, I found myself grabbing my friend's hand because I couldn't believe just how phenomenal it was. I want to go again. I highly, highly recommend this play. The entire cast is amazing but Maroulis is beyond words. GO SEE IT!!
