Jefferson Starship
by Camheart on 2/19/24Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachI was impressed by the guitar player Jude Gold!! He was fantastic. Surprised that a founding member was 85 years old and still playing! Sound mix could have been better.

Very good experience accessible easy in and out band was great! My favorite song is Miracles. I wish I would be able to get it on my apple, phone app to put it on a ringtone lol.
Sounded great in the small venue. So good we went back the next night to see them again!
This one of the best shows I’ve seen all year. They sounded great and I can’t wait to see them again.
Didn’t know exactly what to expect with most of the originals gone, but these talented musicians put on a fantastic show!! Thank u sooooo much ❤️
Jefferson Starship was Fantastic! The band was full of energy and joy. They played and sang wonderfully. The crowd loved it and it was a fantastic show. I am so happy we went. What a great night of music.
The band was playing well and sounding great! The interplay amongst the band is phenomenal! Kathy and David are able to belt out some amazing tunes!
What a great concert. I thought they'd only play Starship tunes, but they also played Airplane tunes. It was also my first time at this venue and it's fantastic. Clean, modern, vibrant, great acoustics, lots of free parking. Westbury has definitely changed and is really up and coming.
First saw The Jefferson Starship in 1974 at C.W. Post college when the Dragonfly album came out. Have seen them many times since with and without Grace Slick, Marty Balin and Mickey Thomas. The one constant has been David Freiberg. When you see them now you realize how underutilized he was during the heyday of the group. At 85 his voice has never been stronger. Cathy Richardson as always is a dynamite vocalist. The problem for me was song selection. While the crowd loved all the power ballads I remembered when those songs came on the radio I would change the station. I am first and foremost a Paul Kantner fan and they didn't perform any of his songs like they did in the past. No Ride The Tiger, no Crown of Creation, no Lightening Rose, no Freedom at Point Zero. I could go on and on. Until the end when they played Volunteers, jammed out with the members of Abigone Rising and the placed rocked.
While there is only one original, who is 85 and can still sing well, the rest of the band has been in JS for many years. The star is Kathy Richardson. Filling in Grace Slick. Those are big shoes to fill and does it. Also was great to Grace co-wrote the new song It’s About Time!
The original member and female lead singer were both in excellent voice. Lead guitarist was was superb. Overall, a fine show. Highly recommended at a solid value.
What a great show, all there big hits brought back some great memories
Even without Miss Grace in the forefront....the band did an AWESOME show !!!!!! Still rocking like stars that they are !!!!
Love this group. Have seen them twice in 4 1/2 years. Music can't be beat. "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"became our song when my partner and I met 5 years ago.
I would go if this were the original Starship that released Blows Against the Empire…..not much into nostalgia bands…especially watered down ones.
I sat down, looked around at the audience, looked at the band, then it hit me...I am an old person, then I sat back and enjoyed the concert!
While they stuck mostly to the known hits, there was something for everyone.17 Songs. Strong band, with great lead singer, and even an 84 year old on bass and vocals! Included an extra jam which got spacy at the end, of the song Volunteers.
Jefferson Starship played a great show. David Freiberg sang well, and more songs than I expected. band was really good. Venue was clean and comfortable. Good sound for a big ballroom
How come they can call themselves Jefferson Starship. They sounded like a cover band to me. The female singer tried to sound like Mickey Thomas but sounded terrible. We left 30 minutes into the show.
This was absolutely one of the greatest concerts I have attended. It was like Jefferson Starship transported us to 1966 San Francisco. Like I say, a magical night
