About

Over the course of his five-decade career, Jeff Beck has proven himself one of music's most versatile, skilled and influential guitarists, making important contributions to rock, heavy metal, jazz and even electronic music. Beck found his first work as a musician playing with Screaming Lord Sutch and the Tridents in the early '60s. In 1965, Beck joined the Yardbirds, replacing lead guitarist Eric Clapton. After a two-year stint with the Yardbirds, Beck formed a new band, The Jeff Beck Group, featuring vocalist Rod Stewart. The group's gritty, rough sound helped pave the way for future hard rock/heavy metal bands. By the mid-'70s, Beck had changed directions musically, recording the ground-breaking jazz-fusion albums Blow By Blow and Wired (in collaboration with keyboardist Jan Hammer). Beck reemerged in the '80s with There and Back and Flash, featuring the Grammy Award-winning track "Escape." Beck won another Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental with his 1989 release Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop with Terry Bozzio and Tony Hymas. In the early '90s Beck released Crazy Legs, a tribute to rockabilly singer Gene Vincent and guitarist Cliff Gallup, followed by Who Else! in 1999. The song "Dirty Mind" from the 2001 album You Had It Coming won Beck his third Grammy. On the 2003 release Jeff, Beck continued to break new ground, collaborating with trip-hop artist David Torn, the electronic group Apollo 440 and a 40-piece orchestra.

Amazing show. Jeff Beck is one of the greats!

by KK on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - Wheatland

I was surprised at how good Johnny Depp was. His voice was incredible and his guitar skills were really good. I enjoyed this show more than I thought I would. I would definitely see both of them again.

    Loved the show

by Johnny Depp’s Bapky Hour on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - Wheatland

The venue was fantastic. I loved every second. Jeff was incredible. But when Johnny came on stage I stood up and yelled out his name. I was happy to see him. But we didn’t get a chance to interact like other concerts. That was disappointing. All I’m all wonderful show.

    Great show, great musical artists

by NeeNee on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - Wheatland

I was apprehensive as I just had not been to a venue like this nor knew what to expect. IT WAS GREAT! Max Gomez opener was a pleasant surprise. Then Beck’s guitar show was great. The songs were recognizable and he’s great! Here comes Johnny and it turned out to be an awesome concert and night! Left feeling like we had seen a super show.

    LOUD

by K&J on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - Wheatland

When the clock stuck 8 Max Gonzales, the opener, started playing. He was amazing and engaging. We were excited that this is how the evening began. After 5 or so songs he left the stage. We waited an entire 1/2 hour for Jeff to come on. Jeff was great but it was soooo loud that ear plugs were necessary to tolerate that decibel!! Jeff played 8 or 10 songs and then Johnny joined. We was very interested to see what Johnny had to offer and we were disappointed. We felt like he played the part well but his vocals left a lot to be desired. He wasn't confidant in his singing or at least that is how it sounded. He clearly wants to be a rock star but we just didn't see that. We would defiantly see Max and Jeff again but we'd wait to see Johnny in his element, the big screan.

    What night to remember

by D'BUSHMAN on 11/13/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

Jeff Beck played the hell of his guitar and Johnny Depp came out of the Amber Heard nightmare rocking the house as a free man in this show.

    Super show

by Pablo on 11/13/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

Thought the show was great. Jeff and friends put on a great show. Great sound and volume. He covered a lot of his great songs and seemed to enjoy himself. It was a sellout thanks to Johnny Depp, though he really didn't do much on stage. Very glad I went.

Jeff Beck concert ruined by Johnny Depp

by Slim on 11/13/22City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Jeff Beck was great. The first half of the concert was awesome. Then Johnny Depp came out. It wasn't terrible but after experiencing Jeff's instrumental work it was a letdown.

    Non-stop Smiling

by SurfGreenStrat on 11/12/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

After opener Max Gomez hilariously reminded the us that New Mexico, where he was from was neither ‘New’ or ‘Mexico’, Jeff toggled between his regular and reverse headstock Fender Stratocastors (no Tele this time) playing like time only makes you better. When Johnny joined in, the band played inspired versions of the new album numbers like a young band looking forward to more. I know I am.

    Amazing Show

by Redwingleader on 11/12/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

It's really hard to go wrong watching such a master guitarist as JB and Wednesday night was no different. This guy is truly a master at his craft. In addition, the bass player and drummer had solos that were top notch. JB always puts together a great band. I noticed the girls came out to see Johnny Depp. I thought he added a little bit of a flair to the show. He held his own well.

Long time coming for me to see Jeff !

by The kid on 11/12/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

Max Gomez opening was lovely. Jeff was too loud. Otherwise he played some of the songs I liked from the seventies.

    Beck is the King

by Ballgame20 on 11/12/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

What a thrill and honor to see this living legend again. So unique, a one-of-a kind virtuoso who is in a class all by himself. Simply stated nobody sounds like him and he doesn’t sound like anybody else.

Great show, Jeff was in True form.

by JR on 11/12/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

I was very much pleased with the whole show (venue, the opener and especially Jeff). Jeff was awesome on his Guitar, as usual. He always leaves me impressed as hell. But I never doubt that he wouldn’t. I’ve been a fan of his since the 60’s, from the yardbirds to his first LP, Truth. Followed his career through all his stages of styles. Jeff Beck Group, Beck, Bogert & Appice, to his fusion days of Blow by Blow and Wired.

Jeff Beck and Johnny Depp Music Heaven

by Lainer on 11/12/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

No one can make the guitar play better than Jeff Beck. He is truly a guitar god! Johnny Depp was a welcome addition with his sweet vocals and additional guitar play. They had the Civic Auditorium rocking. It was a special night to enjoy their great talents.

    Disappointing

by Rickker on 11/12/22San Jose Civic - San Jose

Parking is nonexistent. Jeff Beck was great first 45 minutes then Johnny Depp came on was the worst performance both on guitar and his vocals very beyond bad. Ruined the show!
