About

Over the course of his five-decade career, Jeff Beck has proven himself one of music's most versatile, skilled and influential guitarists, making important contributions to rock, heavy metal, jazz and even electronic music. Beck found his first work as a musician playing with Screaming Lord Sutch and the Tridents in the early '60s. In 1965, Beck joined the Yardbirds, replacing lead guitarist Eric Clapton. After a two-year stint with the Yardbirds, Beck formed a new band, The Jeff Beck Group, featuring vocalist Rod Stewart. The group's gritty, rough sound helped pave the way for future hard rock/heavy metal bands. By the mid-'70s, Beck had changed directions musically, recording the ground-breaking jazz-fusion albums Blow By Blow and Wired (in collaboration with keyboardist Jan Hammer). Beck reemerged in the '80s with There and Back and Flash, featuring the Grammy Award-winning track "Escape." Beck won another Grammy for Best Rock Instrumental with his 1989 release Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop with Terry Bozzio and Tony Hymas. In the early '90s Beck released Crazy Legs, a tribute to rockabilly singer Gene Vincent and guitarist Cliff Gallup, followed by Who Else! in 1999. The song "Dirty Mind" from the 2001 album You Had It Coming won Beck his third Grammy. On the 2003 release Jeff, Beck continued to break new ground, collaborating with trip-hop artist David Torn, the electronic group Apollo 440 and a 40-piece orchestra.

  • Consummate performer

by Ginger on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 4 out of 5

Jeff Beck is the consummate performer and every time I get to see him play his guitar I consider myself lucky. This concert the female base player was equally talented and lay down sounds for Jeff. The female drummer kept a strong beat too. Jonny Depp needs a vocal warm up before he goes on stage…

  • Great Performance

by Rusty on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 5 out of 5

Five family members from three generations attended and we all thoroughly enjoyed Jeff Beck's fine guitar work. Beck has not lost any skill. Depp was fun and entertaining. The band was excellent. I do wish that Jeff and Johnny would have taken more time in introducing the band members' names more clearly. It was a great time. I'd like to see them again

  • Beck & Depp music were incredible

by FanBeckDeppSacto on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 5 out of 5

Musicians were awesome. It was the audience that was allowed to be disrespectful. Venue would have been wonderful if the HR Sacramento venue security had tighter reign over the crowd. I sat in the 4th row of the gold circle. I had people that were loaded that stood right in front of me. Late seating & getting out of your seat and mobbing the stage should not have been permitted. There were constant distributions in the aisle ways that blocked my view and people who were allowed to stand blocking views.

  • Turn down the theatrics.

by Stevos on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was awesome, during the show the stage lighting was turned to the audience for effect & was blinding, very annoying as was turning up the volume for individual performances by the drummer & bass player,it was plenty loud enough without that & I don’t like plugging my ears during a concert because of it.

  • It was okay

by Ken M on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 3 out of 5

This is my third time seeing JB. He has a great band but he doesn't let play very much. It's 90 minutes of his noodling with no or little band interaction. I didn't expect much from Johnny Depp but he was still able to lower the bar.

  • What A Night!

by J and J Fan on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 5 out of 5

First let me say the venue at Hard Rock Sacramento Fire Mountain is beautiful and the acoustics are amazing. Jeff Beck and Johnny Depp were everything I expected and MORE! I was totally in amazement during the entire show. Max Gomez was the opening set and he was adorable and very talented. Would love to see him again. There are just no words to adequately describe the gift Jeff Beck has for playing a guitar. Never have I seen or heard anything like it. Johnny Depp is not only very pleasing to look at, but displayed a wonderful talent for guitar playing and vocals. Anika on drums was totally amazing and oh so talented. I would rank this show right at the top of the 100's of concerts I have been to. The entire band was amazing and sheer delight! I could have stayed all night! An experience I will not soon forget!

  • BECK diving DEPP

by Grizzly on 11/13/22San Jose Civic - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

Jeff was unbelievable once again. Personally, I would've never teamed up with Johnnie? Not because I don't like Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands or any of his other characters, but because I thought it to be FLUFF. Maybe it'll grow on me in time but I enjoyed Jeff immensely. I took my girlfriend who I took to EC in Chigago in September. She enjoyed the show yet was surprised by all the women that were screaming "JOHNNIE". Oh look, he looked at me??? HaHa. Oh well, long live Beck!!!!!

I didn’t know Jeff Beck, but he’s an awesome guitarist. I would love to see him and Santana play together.

I really enjoyed the concert. Music is the best! I hope to one day see them in Tucson.

  • The concert was great! Johnny Depp was INCREDIBLE!

by JacquieSue on 11/13/22San Jose Civic - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

We had $85 tickets (balcony) and our seats were great! Up close and personal to Johnny Depp! The only draw back was the bathrooms being closed after the concert. You are serving drinks..,people have to go! Keep them open…

  • Great Show!!!

Jeff always puts on a GREAT show. I was really impressed with Johnny Dep. I was not expecting him to be so good.

  • Jeff rocks into his 70's

by Dave S. on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 5 out of 5

As usual Jeff was a proper and eloquent perormer. His drummer and bass players were off the hook. So much talent there. The keys stayed in time and melded the music together in that just right style. Johnny is Johnny, everyone just loves that guy! Over all the night was just what the doctor ordered.

  • jeff was great awesome drummer bass players

by fan on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 4 out of 5

venue was nice Johnnie Depp was entertaining but not great as a musician or singer all songs sung were dark and depressing

  • Magnificent Guitarist

by JanLeeS on 11/13/22San Jose Civic - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

It was such a treat to see Jeff Beck perform. He is truly a virtuoso on the guitar. Seeing Johnny Depp perform with Mr. Beck was an added delight. I loved every moment of this concert!

  • Phenomenal Guitarist

by JAllen on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 5 out of 5

I went to the Jeff Beck concert, knowing very little about the man, and with relatively low expectations. I was absolutely blown away by his talent. He plays the guitar so effortlessly and moves around with ease at 78 years old. Equally impressive were his drummer and bassist, who I learned after the fact toured with Prince for 10 years. I would go see Jeff Beck again in a heartbeat, if he returns anywhere near us. We go to a lot of concerts, and this one ranks among the best we have ever attended.

  • Amazing

by LB on 11/13/22San Jose Civic - San JoseRating: 5 out of 5

Jeff Beck is one the greatest guitarists ever. He’s amazing. And then add Johnny Depp to the mix, you can’t go wrong. Johnny is so multitalented. This concert wasn’t just a collaboration, it was two great friends sharing their passion with the world. And you see their friendship and adoration for each other and it was genuine. Long live this friendship and their music.

  • Johnny Depp is a great Actor

by Eddie Wonderful on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 4 out of 5

Listening to Jeff Beck is a treat. The band was outstanding! It all went wrong when Johnny Depp arrived on stage. He did nothing to enhance the music.

  • Awesomely Incredible

by MzG415 on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 5 out of 5

Jeff Beck is just so good and so much fun to watch and listen to. He was very talkative thanking us for being fans and being there throughout his career. Johnny was just amazing...to see him in person is a dream come true. I was actually frozen just glued to the stage and singing along. Wanted to get his autograph on my arm to have it tattoed but security ran him rightbto his bus and they left so a little disappointed but this venue is out in the middle of no where and he has to be protected. Loved the event!

  • Very Disappointed

    by L. G. on 11/13/22Hard Rock Live Sacramento - WheatlandRating: 2 out of 5

Unfortunately, the concert was not what I expected at all. The opening guy was probably the best part of the whole concert because after that it was an hour of Jeff Beck, playing his guitar and then about 20 minutes of Johnny Depp singing songs that you could barely understand, because Jeff Beck‘s guitar was so loud you couldn’t even hear Johnny’s voice. I definitely expected more lyrics and singing and more time with both of the men performing and not just Jeff Beck. I do have to say that the drummer girl was amazing!

  • More johnny..headline misleading

Should of said with special guest..thought he would play whole show ...not till the end..
