Je'Caryous Johnson Presents "SUPER FREAK: THE RICK JAMES STORY" Tickets

This show was a great depiction of Rick James’ life. I learned some things I did not know about him. It was engaging from beginning to end.

Man this show was AWESOME!! The cast were GREAT! The one thing that I was impressed with Stokley playing Rick James. I didn’t think he could pull it off with Rick’s song. He did an OUTSTANDING job. Melissa Van Pelt was great playing Tina Marie. I have nothing but KUDOS for this show!! Looking forward to seeing New Jack City onstage!!

Excellent play, great performance by all and great story.

Half the show was spent giving you a background of a gentle person and how Hollywood changed his life. But his mom was his rock. His story was inspiring

LOVED IT. Top that with TY JAMES Sign my program and gave me a dap (fist bump). I had so much fun. I know it was a play but I danced in my seat and aisle. Thinking about going to Alabama (May 30) I didn’t get enough!! Of that funk!! Need another T-SHIRT.

I loved the play and would go see another production.

I really really did enjoy it and I would go see it again if it were to come back to Memphis

It's been a long time since I've been to the theater since Covid-19! I am glad I made the choice to attend this event. The cast was Awesome and very good at their craft. The story line was well put together and explained in detail his life story. The sound was great as well. It was well cast. I believe it could have ran for 2 days and possibly sold out at each performance! Awesome Job, Je' Caryous, I wish i was a part of the Cast.

This show was so well put together. The music was on point and Stokley did a great job playing Rick James! You could tell he did his study of Rick to be able to move just like Rick James. The whole cast did a wonderful job. It started on time and it was great! I definitely recommend seeing this musical. You will not be disappointed!

I loved the set up, the programs, the dancers, the stage, the actors..everything was amazing! The star actor was brilliant, he did a marvelous job playing Rick James. This was more entertaining than I expected! The dancers, the storyline, the costumes, the props, everything was great! This production was spectacular and We enjoyed it from beginning to the end! And it started on time!!!!

It honestly started out a little slow for me, however going into the second half of the show, the performers brought the energy. Stokley Williams added the intensity with an outstanding performance as Rick James. My husband, myself & friends thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, it was worth it!

Pretty entertaining for an "off broadway"show. Slow start quickly excelerated to peak performance. Loved the characters and still singing & dancing to the music. I did not like being reminded of Rick James last public words.

This was like a movie, the sound quality so good. I thought it was a soundtrack but they were really singing. Stokley was Fantastic.

I really enjoyed the show all the characters were amazing!!! The Rick James character omg he embodied Rick James he did an AWESOME job!!! I would love to see this show again!!!! Good job everyone!!! :-)

I really enjoyed the show. I liked the detail of Rick James story. The dancers was great. The singer were good. The show was very entertaining.

The cast gets an A, off top because they were at the top of their game on all levels. Although I thought it could’ve been a little more acting, as well as more areas of Rick James’s life

It was great! The music and story were enlightening. I had no idea the life Rick James led. Fascinating. I would highly recommend this show to anyone who isn't offended by the rock star lifestyle.
