Writer/Director/Producer Je’Caryous Johnson who brought you the sold out hit play, “Married But Single” and the hilarious romantic comedy, “Two Can Play That Game” is back with another one – Je’Caryous Johnson presents SET IT OFF based on the hit iconic movie by the same name. Fans will get to relive the ride that made them love SET IT OFF the movie, but this time around they will experience it LIVE ON STAGE.
The hit heist, cult classic movie you love is now a stage play and coming to your city. The same iconic characters – Frankie, Tisean (T.T.), Stoney and Cleo are back bringing the same action packed, adrenaline filled robbery scenes and emotionally charged antics against an equally exciting music soundtrack that will have you on the edge of your seat. Multi–platinum selling rapper DA BRAT will be starring as Cleopatra “CLEO” Sims, the role originally played by Queen Latifah in the movie. Fans will recall SET IT OFF centers on four childhood friends who spent a lifetime struggling to move away from the mean streets of their neighborhood. The system stole their dreams and now the four are determined to steal them back. With their world in turmoil and their backs against the wall, they decide to seek their fortune - literally. Targeting the banks of Los Angeles, Cleo, Stony, Tisean (T.T.) and Frankie rob the city's most vulnerable financial institutions. Flush with cash, they discover that mo’ money equals mo’ problems.
The play was amazing. The roles everyone played were exact. I loved how comedy was included in the play. I also love how when one of the actors forgot their lines they just made something up and it was hilarious and on point. The show had no flaws!!!
Great show!!!! I really wanted to see if the play would be as great as the actual movie and I believe it was even with the slight twists that were put into it. I loved the cast as well, I feel everyone in the play matched the characters from the movie great.
Set It Off Live was everything I expected it to be. The way in which the movie was rewritten was right on point. The actors/actresses did an exceptional job with their lines and their roles. The Brat played the hell outta Cleo and my favorite part was the car scene!!!
This was my first time at the cobb energy performing arts center. It had plenty of parking and the seating is good wherever you sit. Relaxed with a glass/cup of wine and enjoyed this stage play.
If you haven't checked out any of Je'Caryous plays you're sleeping on him. He's a GREAT WRITER and does a wonderful job turning movies into plays. I've been to ALL of his plays and plan on going to ALL future plays.
This play seriously is the next best black excellence movement following Black Panther! This play was deep, funny, entertaining, and a MUST SEE! My personal favorites were Latoya Luckett and Da Brat! It is tough to try to redo the demeanor, attitude, and swag of Vivica Fox and Queen Latifa but these two ladies pulled it off! Deep deep ending that speaks to everything America is facing today. An absolute must see great work to the director and actors!
A must see play. You will not be disappointed. The cast was awesome and the play kept you interested in what would happen next
Me and my best friend went to see this play and we enjoyed every moment of it. Je'Caryous did a great job bringing the movie to life on the stage for this play production. We had great seats and the venue was perfect. We look forward to going to other productions at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre and other productions Je'Caryous Johnson will have in the Atlanta Area.
The production itself was good....started 45 min late
The way Mr.Johnson stayed so close to the actual movie script yetadded his own personal touch with the issues that we face today was just absolutely amazing!!! I loved it! The four leading women were great!!! I was a little worried because this is of my all time favorite movies but he held his own!! I loved it!!!
Great show. Loved the surprised ending. Cast was excellent. Show started a little late but guest were arriving up to a hour into the show. Great work by the cast! Traveled from Indiana to Atlanta to see the show. Would def love to see it performed in other cities.

I knew what would happen from viewing the film, but loved the twist at the end.
I was sooooo impressed with the cast and how the producer captured every important part of my favorite movie... Dabrat and Kyla Pratt murdered their roles and demetria McKinney and letoya luckett were great... 5 STARS

The play “Set It Off” was amazing! It’s a must see....I didn’t think that It would be possible to make this movie into a play.
I WAS SOLD WHEN I GOT THE EMAIL WITH DA BRAT PLAYING CLEO...... I HAVE BEEN GOING TO JECARYOUS PLAYS FOR THE PAST 3 YR. I HAVE NOT BEEN DISAPPOINTED YET. IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY TO GET ENTERTAIN BY GOD GIVEN TALENTED BLACK ACTORS AND ACTRESS. I WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH HOW "SET IT OFF" WAS CONVERTED TO A STAGE PLAY.......THE CASE WAS AWESOME!!!!!! THEY HAD SOME BIG SHOES TO FILL FROM THE ACTRESS IN THE MOVIE, BUT THEY PULLED IT OFF AND I'M SURE THE ORIGINAL ACTRESS FROM THE MOVIE WOULD BE PLEASED WITH THE PERFORMANCE. IF YOUR A FAN OF "SET IT OFF" MOVIE THEN YOU WILL LOVE THE "SET IT OFF" LIVE STAGE PLAY...........DA BRAT AND LATOYA LUCKETT WAS SIMPLY AMAZING................ Great play and very funny. All till favorite movie brought to a play .. great idea
