Jazz is Dead (In Name Only)

by pjkovie on 1/31/23Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

One of the absolute best shows that I have seen in a long time. This group of musicians were certainly on top of their game! I am so fortunate that I was able to get out to this one. Too bad this was just a celebration of the 25th year anniversary, so you won't be able to catch these guys until the next event tour. "The 25th-anniversary quartet is comprised of original member and bassist Alphonso Johnson, who will be joined by guitarists Steve Kimock and Bobby Lee Rodgers, and percussionist Pete Lavezzoli."

    Peakin' at the Peak!

by Bill on 1/31/23Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

The Jazz Is Dead 80-minute rendition of 45 minute 'Wake of the Flood' album was fantastic! The ultra-tight band then delivered a 50 minute four song bonus: Cumberland, St Stephen, The Eleven and Terrapin Suite. Gots to have more!

I had good seats on the floor, but the show put me to sleep.

The Palladium was a great venue, but the show was slow, no pep.

    Jazz is Dead

by Craig Lange on 1/27/23The Wilbur - Boston

The players are excellent, leaving space for each other, so that every nite is heard clearly. Lovely performance. Nice, long show in 2 sets.

    Jazz is Dead

The most beautiful music I have heard in a very long time. Musicians were spot on with every note. The theater was freezing cold though.
