  • Jay is hilarious!

Jay was exactly how I expected him to be. Nothing short of greatness. I have and could listen to him for hours. He was super funny. Hope to see him up this side of the world much more often.

  • Jay Mohr Kills It

    by MrNumber9 on 11/5/12Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

First I'll start by saying that even though I don't remember the opener's name (I have seen him before) he was pretty good. A short and quick set is always good when you're in front of Jay Mohr. Jay was hilarious. I have seen him live before, but this time was even better. You'll know Jay from his movies, tv shows, his podcast, or from Opie and Anthony. He is a master at impressions, but his comedy doesn't stop or rely on them. What's great about his impressions are that his does comedy while doing it. It isn't just saying a line from their movie, it's actual material. So, let me state once again, he is the best and most unique impressionist working today, but he's even more than that, he's an amazing comedian. He was even great at handling hecklers. I've heard about it before, but I've never actually seen a performer hand the mic to a heckler before, but Jay Mohr did it. It was great and hopefully taught that idiot a lesson. No one heckled the rest of the night. I can't wait to see Jay Mohr again. I can't wait till he comes around again.

Jay Mohr was so funny but the seats at the Wilbur Theatre are sooo small.

Great show. Very solid from start to finish. One of the best comics I have seen. No political crap which is a relief the week before the election.

  • Felt cheated - and we LOVE Jay Mohr

by cjpouliot on 11/4/12Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

First, the show was announced to be delayed by 15 minutes - no big deal - then there was an opening comedian, who was doing some really funny stuff, for only about 7 minutes. Then Jay came out looking like he crawled out of a dumpster - really dirty. I don't expect a tuxedo, but he was really a mess. His opening stuff was funny because we were all psyched, but then a woman in the front yelled out "Christopher Walken" repeatedly (one of Jay's classics of course), and she wouldn't shut up. So he broke rhythm, did the Walken sketch, and the show was screwed up from there. She was such an annoyance that he passed the Mic to her and said "I don't care, at 11pm, I'm out of here. There were many boos and "shut ups". She wasn't heckling, she just wouldn't shut up. Later during the rest of the show - she was in the front so she was easy to see - she talked to her husband/date/etc, or got up for drinks(?) through the whole show. Then they left early! I fault the Wilbur - she should have been removed. I feel that she wasn't only because it was a woman. No one even spoke to her to knock it off. A guy would have been ejected. Anyway, the material sounded experimental, and his "sidetracking" was really ridiculous. I've seen him many times before, and bought his books, and this was WAY below him. Then at 11pm after a pretty lame closing bit about being angel dusted by accident and coming to a DUI checkpoint, he just said "thanks good night, and was gone. The crowd sort of sat there for several seconds stunned, then clapped, and left. Many people seemed just very disappointed. I didn't think the sound was loud enough either - we missed a lot of what he said, and the crowd was saying "what?" to each other a lot. Sorry Jay, but we still love you!

Very funny! The show should have been advertised more.

  • The Slam-man rocked it

by mo17 on 4/3/12River Rock Casino Resort - RichmondRating: 4 out of 5

Jay Mohr was great. He did an hour and half of stand up. There was a great crowd too. I'd return for more (pun intended).

  • Great Show!...okay venue/seating arrangement

by DustinStemp12 on 4/2/12River Rock Casino Resort - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

Jay Mohr was fantastic. First time seeing him live and he did not disappoint. I will absolutely see him again (hopefully closer to the Seattle area where I live)...maybe I'll travel to VEGAS BABY! Love ya JJ, thanks for bringing it and goin into double OT for us..."Look at the game tape!" AWESOME SHOW! I did not like the cabaret seating with tables and chairs more like a smaller comedy club setting. I just wish the decision could have been made to do a more traditional seating arrangement and fill in the lower and upper floor with more chairs and take out all the space filler tables. Maybe the problem was that the whole venue had to be open meaning both the floor and balcony needed to be for sale.

  • Jay Mohr was great

by LuvMohr on 3/22/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

Jay was so personable. It was like he was hanging out with a group of friends sharing stories.

  • Jay Mohr is hysterical!!

by aaarrrggghh on 3/21/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

Jay Mohr is amazingly talented. He weaves his humor throughout his act with wonderfully funny and dead on impressions. I was dealing with some troubling family issues when I arrived at the theater...and almost didn't even make it to the show. BUT...through the power of Jay's comic ability...I was laughing as soon as he took the stage. I admire his ability to make us forget our problems for a while. Laughter is so good for the soul. It is a rare ability to be able to change another's attitude. Jay Mohr is a true professional. He is very talented...and, especially on the night of his show....he helped me feel so much better. Thank you... :)

  • Best comic I've seen!

by BSpotts on 3/19/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

Jay Mohr is so naturally hilarious, he really has been my favorite comic to see to date! Also, the Mahaffey Theatre needs to be mentioned as well. They presented the show in a way that I wish all shows I buy tickets to were. It is a beautiful building, the staff was very friendly, and after the show, there isn't security immediately herding people into the parking lot. We saw the show with friends visiting out-of-town and it was nice to be able to enjoy one more drink in the lobby after the show, and there was no pressure to leave. 5 Stars all around!

  • Jay Mohrs was Hilarious, but now I am pregnant.

    by Oblivious1one on 3/19/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 4 out of 5

Jay Mohr killed it at the Mahaffey on Thursday night. Would have given the show a perfect 5 stars if his opening act wasn't so awful.

  • I wanted more of Jay Mohr!

    by Pepper813 on 3/18/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

I have always loved Jay Mohr in everything I have seen him do, but had never seen his stand up routine. He was absolutely brilliantly funny and entertaining. He related to all of us whether you are a parent, have funny memories of being a child, or simply just dating. It was just what I needed - a great evening of laughter.

  • Jay Mohr Kills...

Very very funny. Long set - well worth the price of admission. Impressions galore.

  • Jay Mohr Rocks

by flmclk on 3/17/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

This show was AWESOME! We had great seats, the show started just a little after 8pm and the opening comedian was a local guy and then Jay came on around 8:30. For at least a solid hour and a half Jay performed and was nonstop hilarious. Would definitely see him again!

  • Funny GUY

    by ray28 on 3/17/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 4 out of 5

I didnt know what to expect..i never heard him before..glad i went..he was really funny..laughed pretty hard...

  • by Sanjim on 3/17/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 1 out of 5

We did not care for this show! One of the worst we have attended. Unfornatually, we did not realize his humor is saturated with such blue (bad) language. There were quite a few YOUNG adults in the audience who, unfornatually, probably grew up with with suich a poor choice of bad words. They seemed to enjoy the show.

  • Jay Mohr was disappointing

    by sweetpea1230 on 3/17/12The Mahaffey - St PetersburgRating: 1 out of 5

I was very disappointed. I just didn't find his jokes very funny. I enjoyed his impersonations more than anything else. I'm certainly glad I didn't pay full price for my seats (I took advantage of the "leap year" special) I would have been REALLY upset had they been full price. To make things worse, the people next to me laughed at EVERYTHING he said, funny or not. If he said "hello" they roared with laughter, and they had extremely LOUD and annoying laughs. I would guess that alcohol was involved----I wish I had thought to do some drinking, I might have had a better time!
