About

Fast-talking, foul mouthed Jay and his "hetero life partner" Silent Bob will tour Australia this April with their highly praised live comedy show, Jay & Silent Bob Get Old.
Following the release of the cult-classic film Clerks in 1994, long time friends Jason "Jay" Mewes and Kevin "Silent Bob" Smith quickly became much loved stoner icons, with their mischievous characters going on to star in Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks 2, all of which were written and directed by Smith.
The duo have toured Jay & Silent Bob Get Old through the US, recording each evening and then releasing the audio as a free podcast, resulting in the show being ranked the #1 podcast on iTunes Comedy. The shows are a sometimes touching, always hilarious, and a very honest insight into what happens when two people grow up together in the Hollywood limelight.
Now Australian fans will have the opportunity to be a part of the popular podcast series and see their slacker heroes on stage doing what they love, telling stories and poking fun at each other. Jay and Silent Bob are getting old, come watch it as it happens!

As always some of the best comedians of my generation. They were honest and hilarious. Love them and I hope they come back to the Triangle sometime soon. They always have my support!

Just like the podcast only better!

by DarthRandalNC on 3/17/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

If you're a fan of the podcast, it's worth it to go. Since the podcast is audio only you never can see what's going on because Jay is pretty animated even outside of the games they play at the end of the show. I have only two caveats - aside from getting the visuals, this is EXACTLY what you can hear for free on the SModCast network, albiet a couple of weeks earlier than it's published. Secondly, the merchandise table at our event only took cash. Not exactly a deal breaker, but something to remember. Speaking of merchandise, my only complaint was the Forgeticus Saga card shaped flash drives they were selling for $10. Yeah, it's signed by Smith, but it's five older SModCast episodes that you can get online for free. The kicker is the flash drive is only half a gig, so it can't even double as decent size portable storage. Fans will love this. New people should be broken in by listening to other episodes online first because the subject material is definitely not for the faint of heart or the easily offended.

    Great show!!

    by MyView45 on 3/17/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

I listen to the podcast regularly and it can be hit or miss sometimes but Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith were on. Jason with his hyperactive visual demonstrations had us laughing so hard we were crying within 5 minutes. Kevin really lets Jason shine and it's great to see Jason grow as a person in leaps and bounds. Having seen him previously on q&as on dvds it is amazing to see the transformation from awkward and shy to a funny story teller. And Kudos to Kevin for not giving up on Jason.

    Jay and Bob

by YourHeroJeff on 3/17/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

The show was great, very entertaining throughout, and well worth the admission price. I think some people go into this with no real knowledge of the podcast, and that makes them feel somewhat letdown when it's not the normal Q and A that Kevin Smith would do.

Jay and Silent Bob was the highlight of the year

    by MattPerron23 on 3/17/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

I do improv comedy. The chance to go on stage and do a skit with Jason Mewes, a guy I have laughed at since high school was a thrill that I don't see being overtaken anytime soon.

    Jay and Silent Bob ROCK!!!

by NCChick on 3/17/12Carolina Theatre - Durham

My second time seeing this show and they always entertain! Great story tellers and are open to share A LOT about themselves. This is NOT for everyone so if you are not familiar with Kevin's work in Movies or Podcasts - take a listen.. VERY ADULT..VERY SEXUAL...VERY FUNNY!!!! can't wait to go again!!!!

    Hysterical!

    by princssjenn816 on 11/7/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I love all of the Smodcast Podcasts, so I knew I would love seeing them live. My husband doesn't listen to any of them, and he found this to be just as enjoyable. Kevin Smith and Jay Muse are just as funny/relivent as they were in Clerks.

    Maybe more silent Jay...

    by MrNumber9 on 10/10/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I'm a big fan of Kevin Smith. I love almost all of his movies and I went to see the Red State Tour (great movie) and was really impressed. Kevin has a gift for public speaking and he's proved it time and time again whether it's in his question and answer sessions, appearances on Opie and Anthony, or his own radio show and podcasts. I think this would have been similar, but Jay does not have a gift for public speaking...don't get me wrong he's not terrible, but this tour should really be centered around Kevin for obvious reasons. Jay rambles and his stories don't often go anywhere. Everything comes natural for Kevin so you can actually see Kevin trying to save Jay from himself. The girl who came up on stage for the skit actually out shined Jay...

Jay and Silent Bob in the Hizzouse!!

by blackngolddevil on 10/10/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

They were hilarious! It is not the normal Kevin Q&A but it is very entertaining if you love these guys like I do! Jason Mewes is funny without really realizing it. Just like Kevin doesn't keep anything behind closed doors, so to speak, neither does Jay. And just like his character in the movies Jason Mewes is lovable in his way of looking at the world without being pretentious. After watching them talk on stage you will completely understand where the character Jay came from and why Kevin made that character so prominent in his movies.

    Fun Show

by RedHohoho on 10/10/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Jay and Silent Bob Get Old was a really enjoyable show. I got some good laughs which is always great. I wasn't sure what to expect, i.e. if they would be in character or perform skits, etc. I liked the fact it was just Jason & Kevin basically chatting w/ the audience. It was raunchy at times which doesn't bother me but if you're a prude the show is not for you!

    by Silverbackdad247 on 10/9/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Kiss up to Boston and recall getting laid several times, Jeez, I want my money back. Plus the audience was hostile near the end. Talented guys who shouldn't have did that to us!

    wow........interesting, not so much...

    by coaster32 on 10/9/11Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Unless you're a hardcore Kevin Smith or Jason Mewes fan, and only a fan of listening to stories about their one-time sex hookups and gross sexual acts that they might consider performing, you wont find this very entertaining. I wont even describe any of the stories, as besides being gross, its just frat humor, which isn't very funny coming from a 40something director/actor......ugh. I believe in the roughly 2 hours we sat there, there was ONE, yes ONE funny story about something that happened on the set of a movie. I would like to think that with all the movies they have made, or been involved in, that they could come up with more than ONE good story to entertain a crowd with. Hearing about Jason meeting chicks off the internet and nailing them, in all its awkward detail, does NOT equate to a $45 ticket (plus fees makes it 52!)! I would never pay to listen to the drivel they handed out ever again......show could have been SOOOOO much more /interesting/entertaining......pick a word.......if they had talked about anything they had worked on over the past what, 15 years? Very disappointing.....
