Just close your eyes & it's LZ live! Loved the show!
The band is incredible!!! They sound just like the real thing!!! Jason Bohnam is phenomenal!!! Great show!!
As soon as the home videos from Jason Bonham and his family's personal collection started I knew this was going to be an unforgetable performance. Beside the fact that the music was so good, the love that Jason has for his Father was passed on to all of us. From the home video's, private photo collections and personal stories of John, Jason made everyone feel that we were all a part of someone great. It saddens me that we lost someone so talented as John at such an early age and even more that Jason missed out on so much with his Father. Jason has done a superb job of honoring him. The stories he told, the photo's and more importantly his voice when he spoke of his Dad all told us how loved and missed John has been. There is no doubt in my mind that John watches from above the son who so looked up to his Father and has now stepped into his Fathers shoes and is honoring his memory. To Jason Bonham: Hats off to you for stepping up to the plate and taking on such a grand project. People have accused you of riding on your Dad's name but they need to go to one of your concerts and see for themselves that you're only intention is to pay tribute a man simply known to you as Dad. Now for the rest of the show! The music was awsome! If you closed your eyes you would swear you were hearing Robert Plant singing. The rest of the band members were equally talented and all put together made for a very, unforgetable show. We drove 3 1/2 hours to see this show and will definately go again! If you're a Led Zeppelin fan like we are, don't miss the chance to get up close and personal with a legend. And one last thing: you definately don't want to miss seeing video of Jason as a child dancing with John and Pat watching ever so proud!! Keep dancing buddy!!
Was a great show. The lead singer sounded exactly like Robert Plant. The montages of John Bonham back in the day made it all work. It was money well spent.
This was a great show. almost 2 hours in the first set, 20 min break, and then another hour and half. Great show, great sound, nice setlist.
The show was incredible. I've seen JB several times before, and this was without doubt his best show ever! He's gotten better over the years, and he is at the top of his form. You could tell this tour was very personal and emotional for him, and the home videos were a nice touch. As a long time Zep fan, this was an incredible experience. I would recommend it to any Zep fan.
with Jason Bonham at the helm, a team of no name musicians did a great job of paying tribute to Led Zeppelin
Very good. The drums and guitar were right there. Brings back my memories from the 70's. Will have to do as the next best thing to a Zepplin reunion.
The meet and greet was awesome. We talked to Jason for some time and had him autograph some vintage, unique Led Zepplin CDs we had. The concert itself was unforgettable. I had a ticket to see Led Zepplin when Jason father died and now it's as if I finally got to see them.
I had the pleasure of seeing Led Zeppelin in April 1977. I told my wife that this would probably be the closest thing to Led Zeppelin that she would see. I was right. Jason put on an excellent show. Not only did the band nail the songs they played. Jason's story about his dad was heartfelt and tastefully done. The songs Thank You and Moby Dick were particularly touching. Jason put together an excellent band. the best compliment I could give was telling my wife that she seen Led Zeppelin Thank you for the show.
OK JASON, YOU AND THE BAND WERE FRICKN AWSOME!! THE SINGER WAS DEAD ON,BUT WITH A LIL OF HIS OWN STYLE, NOW I AM DISAPOINTED "WHEN THE LEEVE BREAKS" NO HARMONICA?!?!?!?! THATS HALF THE SONG MAN, IF YOU NEED I CAN PLAY THAT PART FOR YOU. NOW THE SINGER NEEDS TO GET A BLONDE WIG LIKE PLANTS, HE DOESNT LOOK THE PART, BUT SANG THE PART. WELL I'D SAY IT WAS AN AWSOME SHOW, JASON DID HIS DADDY JUSTICE!!! THANKS JASON FOR DOIN THIS.
Jason's storytelling via video and his own performance was outstanding and very original and creative--moving! His AXEMAN in particular was phenomenal!!!! Spot on as they say! I would recommend this show to everyone!
I am sort of confused. I used to live in Houston, and had season tickets for the NFL Oilers. During the strike shortened season, we saw the replacement players. The replacement Oilers were pretty good. In fact, they contributed to a turning point in the fortunes of the Oilers when we lived there. But, it really wasn’t the NFL now was it? The wins were fun, but they didn’t feel quite right. After seeing JAson Bonham I had the same feeling. I mean, it was fun, but it somehow felt cheap. Of course, I am referring to Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience. At the end of the day, this is a tribute band. There is a lot of that thing going around. I have seen Dark Star Orchestra which does Grateful Dead shows exactly as they were done. In fact, if you’ve never seen them, at the end of the show they will say….”and that was the Grateful Dead show done in Biloxi MS on July 18th 1974”. I imagine going to see “RAIN” (the Beatles) or “JERSEY BOYS” (Franki Valli right?) would be similar…they are tribute shows. What makes this one different is that Jason Bonham, Bonzo’s son, plays the drums (I might add that although I am FAR from an expert, I think RIngo’s son Zach Starkey does a much better job with what is left of The Who….but what do I know?). And the home videos of John Bonham and Jason’s frequent references to “my dad” makes you wonder if they were really that close or is Jason just trying to establish some legitimacy for what he is doing? But what about the show itself? Well, if you could get over the discomfort of watching the spectacle, it was not a bad show. In fact, the band may have been too good. If they were less polished, you would just say it was a fun night in a nice venue…fun, but nothing to be taken too seriously. But they actually WERE good…and while the tickets were not super expensive, they were not a bar cover charge either. The lead singer sounded very good….he did not have a young Plant’s range, but he did a very good job and got better as the night wore on. And the lead guitarist was also very good…..but as I said, maybe too good. Because when you reminded yourself these were just a bunch of imitators, it felt like you ate food off the ground beyond the 10 second rule (or whatever it is). On the one hand it tasted good, but on the other it kind of turns your stomach. Plus, the lead singer looked like Daughtry…..it made me uncomfortable. And while the lead guitarist was good and had many Page movements and even facial expressions down, he was just a much shorter imposter and you just kind of felt like….”yew…don’t do that…just play”. So, at the end of the day, the band was good. The songs of course were very good. It makes you wish you would have seen the real Led Zeppelin in their prime. But honestly? I think maybe Robert Plant has it right. It’s time to let it go. Listen to the CD’s, keep your memories, but don’t try to live it again. It just aint gonna happen.
Show was very good. Great musicians and a great tribute to Jason's dad. The volume was much too loud for the venue however and sounded distorted. Turn down the volume a bit.
Took my two boys 13 years old each to experience the son of one of the greatest drummers ever and be musicaly motivated not to mention just to see a piece of history and the music of Led Zep. The evening was haunting and forever memorable as Jason shared memories of his father and moments of his own career . Number two son acualy shed some tears as Jason was making faces back at his Dad on the screen behind him. Jason is a deep powerfull , polished drummer who plays as well as his father and has the stature of a legendary performer. We got to see him perform Moby Dick along with his late father , one of the best drum solos of all time ,, WOW ..The band itself was great . I would not look at this as a cover band but what it is The Jason Bonham Led Zep experience. Expert vocal interpritations brought new light to lyrics and over all sound quality was amazing.Would have been nice to see Page but guitar was still awsome. All and all this is a must see show and Jason is a monster simply a monster. Take notice Led Zep Jason has done more than step up to the plate and hes the only man that can fill that void. May be its time for a new album ..... See the show support Jason Bonham hes all about the fans.
Jason picked the right musicians to play in his band, they were right on key! I saw Zeppelin in 1977 and this band sounded just like them..For all the Zeppein fans,if you didn't see this concert you really missed out!I highly recommend everyone thats likes Zeppelin or wants to see a amazing band to go see these guys!
IT WAS AN AMAZING SHOW WITH A SPARCE CROWD BUT THE PEOPLE THAT WERE THERE WAS VERY LOUD. I FELT LIKE I WAS AT A FAMILY REUNION AND MY FAMILY WAS THE BAND.IF YOU CAN SEE IT YOU SHOULD.
The show was awesome, 3 hours of old time kick ass rock and roll. I seen the real Zepplin in 1976, Trust me, this was the second best thing, wake up Robert, Jimmy and John Paul, get together with Jason on Drums and lets PARTY like 1076.
I really thought they nailed it. The singer might look like Daughtry but he sounds like Plant, eerily on some songs. The guitarist was able to reproduce Page live virtually note for note. The background videos were good, the crowd participation was the best of any concert I've attended (swaying to the music, singing, just totally into it). If you just close your eyes for a moment you can imagine you are there at a real Zeppelin concert. In Merrillville from the 2nd set the crowd was on its feet for the duration and surged toward the stage. One of the best concerts Ive ever been to and Ive seen them from Nugent, Ac/DC with Bon Scott, Scorpions, Van Halen, Stevie Ray, Metallica, etc. Great show. Better than anticipated. Wish I could go again.
