The musical was totally faithful to Jane Austen's novel and a real pleasure to sit through. My 11 year old daughter and I left the theater feeling quite uplifted!
Both my husband and I enjoyed it. Funny and clever.
The actors and actresses were excellent. Their singing ability was also excellent. Felt the story line lacked pizzazz.
So my impression of the AZ theatre companies emma production....is that it was extremely weak. The costuming was poor, the set lacking, and the acting, singing and casting was wanting. The adaptation didn't manage to bring anything really engaging to the story, i think the playwright could have been more creative...more clever, and the songs were extremely all the same and not memorable or inspiring, so i'd clearly say, save your money, and your time, and skip this one, the time would be better spent sitting down with the book in this case and enjoying a good read!! cheers
