About

James Blunt (aka James Hillier Blount) lived all over Europe as a child with a father in the British Army Air Corps, taking piano and violin sessions and later learning guitar and writing songs as a teenager. After graduating from the University of Bristol, Blunt served six years in the British Army and was stationed in Canada, Kosovo and Switzerland, achieving the rank of captain before he left the army in 2002. The next year, he signed to Custard Records and starting recording his first album in Los Angeles. Back to Bedlam came out in 2004, with five singles including “High,” “Wiseman,” and the smashes “You’re Beautiful” and “Goodbye My Lover,” and received five Grammy nominations. With his endearing voice, poignant and sincere lyrics, and catchy pop-rock sound, Blunt’s debut has sold over 11 million copies. His second album, 2007’s All the Lost Souls, produced the hit “1973,” and 2010’s Some Kind of Trouble featured “Stay the Night,” “So Far Gone,” and “If Time Is All I Have.” The folky lead single “Bonfire Heart” premiered in October 2013, a few weeks ahead of the release of his fourth and latest album, Moon Landing. With a world concert tour planned for 2014, this charming crooner is set to dazzle ticket holders across the globe.

    James Blunt was fantastic!

by MelbSam on 5/21/14Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

The night began with a great intro from Oh Honey, who held an impromptu "meet and greet" in the foyer before James Blunt came on. Blunt delivered an excellent, engaging, funny, and emotional set of music for nearly 2 hours. The venue is intimate and the sound quality was great. The only down side was the disresptful, rip roaring drunk woman infront of us who screamed inappropriately until she left 20 minutes into the set. Thank goodness! Can't wait for his next concert!

James Blunt gave a very strong performance

by Tobias2020 on 5/21/14Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

James Blunt has changed his public image. There were more up-tempo songs than I was expecting. His voice sounded much stronger live than in any of his recordings. His band backed him up well. He had a good rapport with the audience, with flashes of humor. My favorite songs were the older ones: You're beautiful and Same Mistake were very well done. Goodbye Lover was performed solo with only piano accompaniment. I saw Elton John a few weeks ago in Vegas and I must say that I preferred this concert (Elton John's show was also very strong). The two shows began in the same way: Also Sprach Zarathustra by Strauss as the musicians entered the stage. James Blunt must have seen Elton's show too. However, after the classical music introduction he should have begun with a more up-tempo song instead of a ballad. I'm glad that I went. It is unusual to find an artist these days whose songs actually make sense. James Blunt is one of those artists and some of his songs serve as inspiration for the songs that I write. I can't say that about many singer/songwriters.

    Blunt was wicked

by ianc951 on 5/21/14Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

Fantastic performer, high energy with lots of interaction with the crowd. Disappointed with seating because row in front had temporary chairs 4 inches higher than permanent seating obstructing view (not mentioned when ordered tickets from Ticketmaster).

    James Blunt rocked the house!

by gaypalmsprings on 5/21/14Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

James Blunt performed nearly his entire new album plus many older gems. I think 22 songs in all. His voice was as strong as ever, he is a cute as ever, and so energetic. He really didn't need the opening act, Oh Honey, as they were kind of boring. I wish it was just James. I have seen him several times, and this was probably the worst venue and least inspiring crowd, but he still rocked the house! By the end of the set, he had everyone on their feet and singing a long with him. I am ready for his next album and next US tour. James is the man!

James Blunt was out of this world amazing!!!!!!!!!

by JamesBluntfan on 5/20/14Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

James Blunt performed a flawless set. The sound balance between the instruments and the vocals was perfect, and I had a really good view of the stage. I only wish I had been able to be down in the very front, because the crowd wasn't energetic enough up there. Maybe if there hadn't been chairs in the front, it would have been better. Overall the performance was better than I could have ever imagined, and the venue was beautiful. I would definitely recommend seeing James Blunt in concert, he will make your life.

    Totally awesome concert!

by Anonymous on 5/20/14Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

We almost ran late coming from dinner, so we were glad Oh Honey opened for JB! They were also great. We loved the venue and will check for future concerts there. Sitting down in tiered seating and getting drinks - do it in style.

JAMES BLUNT -- EXCELLENT SHOW at the FILLMORE!!!!

by gregb on 5/17/14The Fillmore - San Francisco

JAMES BLUNT hasn't performed in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 3 years...and although I would love to see him more often....he always puts on an extraordinary show when he is here. He played his more popular songs from his catelog and his setlist consisted of probably 20 songs during the main portion and 3 encore songs. He was backed a terrific band of musicians and he himself played both the piano as well as the guitar and other stringed instruments during the almost 2 hour show. He does a bit of hokey maneuvering around the stage at times which has become a James Blunt schtick....but hokey or not...he fully attempts to connect with his audience. At times he encourages crowd participation (singing along...waving cell phones) and at other times he requests the audience be silent and listen. James Blunt always gives a solid performance. Heres hoping he will return to the U.S. again sooner than 3 years from now.

    James Bluntward

by AnneToeKneeYo on 5/13/14House of Blues Boston - Boston

Good show...not great. James sounds exactly like he does on his albums but is stage presence is not stellar.....actually it is a bit awkward if anything. The show was worth the price I paid however I would likely not seek him out again. I am however glad I got to see him live.
