Was a little unsure what i was going into. I like musicals and i loved the album as an angsty teen in the 90s. The story was well done, the singing was phenomenal. The character, Jo, killed it. She could really pull of Morissette's voice. Singing and talking even. Would highly recommend.
Truly enjoyed the emotional roller coaster of Jagged Little Pill. While they did do a bit of hitting on "every" subject, which can be annoying, not everyone has every problem in their life, they were able to merge this into a compelling story and worked well with the phenomenal sound track. Had an awesome time.
The performers were flawless, their voices were pitch perfect, the throw away lines provided comic relief, the song selection was spot on, and the story had more depth than I imagined. In fact, their version of "You Oughta Know" was reason enough to go the theatre. Why only three (3) stars? The play, at times, became a little preachy, which slowed any momentum they had built up.
I love the album Jagged Little Pill and upon learning that the album is made into a musical show, I knew that I had to watch it. I wasn't disappointed as the show was amazing! The performances were superb! All the songs in the album were incorporated seamlessly into the show and every actor sang every song perfectly. The show's story was simple but the message it conveyed was powerful. Overall, it's a must-watch musical and it's one of the best I've seen so far.
I didn’t expect to love the musical as much as I did. Even with a very simple set, the music and actors made the story come to life. This is a MUST see!
What a show! My friend and I loved everything about the experience. Yes, music is phenomenal, of course. Came in with no expectations and was just blown away by the choreography, the staging, the performances, the story... there are just so many great things about Jagged Little Pill. Excellent all around. And the Pantages is always my favorite venue to visit. So beautiful!
To take previously written music and weave it throughout a completely original story and make it virtually seamless is pretty remarkable. Great writing, direction and performances.
jagged Little Pill is enthralling! The cast is perfect! The music is haunting and familiar yet new! The store left me emotional yet hopeful. The choreography was out of this world. Did I mention how amazing the cast was??? This is a show I will see again and again. Loved every minute of it!
It’s a jukebox musical, meaning the story is weaves through songs we already know and are familiar with. That being said, the first act has a bit of a slow build and the story is trying to service the songs, but the moment the second act begins, the songs are in service of the story and the whole thing takes off. It’s emotional and explosive and encapsulates this time we are living through.
What an amazing show! The direction is spectacular, not to mention the dancing and music of course! Don’t think about it, go check it out!! A show all teens and parents must see!
The musical was fantastic! I loved seeing Alanis’ songs brought to life! Regardless of if you are a fan of Alanis, you will enjoy it!
Cast and storyline good and well worth going to see. Music was awsome.
