  • Jon B. was good but I'll never go see Jagged Edge!

    by Abstract34 on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

Jon B. put it down. He had a live band and even though I didn't recognize some of his songs he was still good. Jagged Edge showed up late, had no band, hollered five songs max (two which wasnt there's by the way) and rolled out. Really!!! The Howard Theater really needs to fix its seating. All tickets are standing only and it is first come, first served but they do not state this on their website nor do it says it on the ticket. As a matter of fact the ticket has seat numbers on them. The ticket does say standing room only but your thinking, hmmm I have a seat number I'm good. Overall the show was okay. Nothing to write home about. Oh the food was good though!

  • Jagged Edge - What a disservice to your fans

by Beetoda on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

Ok this is interesting....Jon B was the opener but he should have been the headliner...he did all of his hits...was engaged with the audience.....and has a great voice...he is truly overlooked as a recording artist and I wish he had better promotion behind him so we could hear not only his older material, but also his new material on the radio. Jagged Edge...appeared to be drunk or high their entire performance...song other's people's songs....and did about 6 or 7 songs tops. They seemed to not have any kind of choreography for their dance songs and throughout one song...just provided the ad-libs...at the end they figuratively dropped the mic and yelled to the crowd...look out for J.E Heartbreak Part 2...mind you people were literally just standing there thinking they were going to come back out...and they didn't...they got the curtain....what a shame that they don't respect the few fans they still have left...that is why I can see they have not experienced the same success that they had in their hey day.

  • Jagged Edge--- very unprofessional!

by Kinnflinn on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

The venue was fabulous. Got there at 6:30 for the 8pm show in order to get a good seat. The food, service and drinks were good. The DJ played great music as we waited for the concert to begin. Eight came and went. 9 came and went. No word as to why the show started late or when it would begin. Around 9:40 John B comes out. He gave a good effort. His band a background singer were nice too. But the crowds enthusiasm was drained after such a long wait. He was on for about 40 minutes. Jagged Edged finally comes out. They're singing with a CD in the background. No band. They dance around while the CD plays songs they wrote for other artists. They talked more than they sang. They threw some water and then they were gone.. NO good bye. No thank you.. No we're sorry to keep you waiting. I see why they fell off.. No Class at all!!

  • Jagged Edge whyyyyyyy did u have to leave???

by stormyt on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Okay Im the biggest JE fan. I went to the show alone, braved it out to get the very front row and I was just disappointed that the show was really short and they just left the stage without saying good bye...nadda. Of the line up of a few songs they played other peoples music? usher? I aint go JE to hear no usher or any other music that is not JE. They didn't play any of there new stuff and it was just overall a bit disappointing. No other R&B artists can sing like JE but I felt they didnt want to be there or were not feeling the crowd...dont no...I was confused after the curtain went down. Im sorry John B Im not a fan...but he was on longer then Jagged Edge and put in more heart and soul. I probably will never get the chance to see them again being from Australia :-) to bad it wasnt my favorite show.

  • So Dissapointed

by CoverGirlClassic on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

I am so in love with JE but their performance sucked on the night of Aug 11, 2012. Jon B out did them. And he was their opening act. This was my first time going to see them and I am dissapointed. I am still and always will be a fan. Now I know they are not good performers.

  • Not a Good Experience

    by CJ021974 on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - Washington, DCRating: 1 out of 5

Not a good experience. Show was supposed to start at 8PM; however it didn’t start until approximately 10PM. John B’s performance was ok but I would probably raise the rating to “good” because he did perform with a live band. However, Jagged Edge’s performance was horrible. They appeared disorganized as to what song selection they were going to perform and they song over tracks. Oops I meant they screamed over the tracks. They performed like they were at a night club trying to hype up the crowd instead of singing. I would never go see Jagged Edge again!! I should also mentioned that I have attended 4 concerts within the past 3 months at the Howard Theatre and all of them started at least an hour late, therefore starting late is a reoccurring problem at the Howard Theatre. The Howard Theatre management really needs to address this reoccurring problem.

  • Jagged Edge was WHACK

by SssssAaaaaDdddd on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

I'm used to shows not starting on time, but this joint was 2 hours beyond the time I expected them to be! Jon B did his thing. He was organized and well put together. I think he should've headlined!!!! Jagged Edge was WHACK! They started off okay, but went straight down hill. Their whole performance seemed "throwed" together. It was obvious that they didn't have a plan and it seemed like they were drunk damn near sounding like 4 Eddie Kanes! Dude started rambling for like 5 minutes about a song that he thought they were gonna sing, the rest of the guys were like, "Naw man, we ain't doin that." He said, "I didn't get the memo." WHACK! Then they were singing songs that weren't theirs. And they didn't even make through one whole song. Ohhhh... there was a few times that they'd play a track that someone was featuring (like Fabulous)...They stood there talkin bout, "Who know the Fabulous part?" No one knew it so they stood up there looking silly until the hook came up. WHACK! I left feeling disappointed. If they had started on time with that crap, I might not have complained. It was not worth the wait!

  • Jagged Edge is Rough Around the Edges

    by NDW21 on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

Jagged Edge did an abbreviated performance and left the audience in disbelief that the show was over. The actual show started over one hour late and their opening act, Jon B. -- who was great -- performed longer than they did... almost all of them would individually wander off the stage at some point during their "appearance" to get water, etc. I thoroughly enjoy their music but would never go see them live again.

  • by Anonymous on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

The group was late and did not perform well. Left the stage unannounced fans were still seating/standing waiting for the group to return.

  • Opening Act: Jon B. was great! 5 Stars for Jon B.!

by Buddhadeuce on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 2 out of 5

I go to plenty of concerts/shows. I love music. But this show in particular was a disappointment. The opening act was Jon B. His performance was great! I always loved Jon B. Jon B.'s set consisted of all the songs we all loved to hear since he first hit the scene. He performed for about an hour and a half, which was great! 5 stars to Jon B.. Jagged Edge on the other hand, a huge disappointment. To start, they didn't even have a live band. They had a DJ spinning tracks with background vocals. For a vocal group based on harmonies as we all know from J.E., you'd expect to hear an all vocal performance. The length of time for their performance could have been, or they might as well been the opening act. If you minus the chit chat from Kyle between songs, their performance would have been barely 30 minutes. I will say that yes, when they sang, you know these guys can sing, but to be the main act and to have been out shined by the opening act... A huge disappointment. To top it off, an abrupt, "run off the stage", cut on the lights, no thank you for your support, end of show, goodnight was upsetting. Leaving the venue, you could hear show-goers complaints as you walked through the crowd. Bottom line, I got my monies worth with Jon B. and not J.E.. This show should have been labeled Jon B. instead of Jagged Edge.

  • Jagged Edge Sucked

by SharisseB on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

Jagged Edged sucked. They sung two of their songs. They sung Usher songs and was playing on stage like they really didn't want to be there and then they just walked off of stage at the end. Didn't say thanks for coming, we are out....nothing. I was like Wow! Jon B. was really good, though and I am glad that I was able to see him! I love me some Jon B!

  • Jagged Edge Jacked Their Fans

by KenraShaw on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

Show started 90 minutes late. JE came out, did random songs sung by other artists, then did very short versions of 4 or 5 of their own songs and then simply walked off the stage. We were stunned. Very very very disappointing and disrespectful.

  • Horrible Event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by LThomp on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

One of the worst concerts I've ever been to. I have been a Jagged Edge fan from day 1 but I will no longer support them!! They sang maybe 5 songs and not even the whole song. The opening artist, Jon B, sang more than they did. This is the second time Jagged Edge did this to me. The first time was at a concert in Rochester about 5 years ago. They really shouldn't treat their fans that way. Very disappointed! No longer a fan, can only take so much! :-(

  • Totally disappointed

by KSAW on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 1 out of 5

Everyone that knows me can tell you that I've always been a huge Jagged Edge Fan! But after their performance at the Howard Theatre, I loss all respect for them. First of all, they were singing off beat. Their notes were flat and their voices were cracking throughout the performance. Jon B was the opening act and his performance exceeded Jagged Edge ten times over. They only sang 3-4 songs and left the stage so quickly that everybody thought it was intermission. Everybody was asking are they going to come back on stage! I wanted them to sing at my wedding but that dream is no longer a desire of mine. I guess they are all washed up. # totallydisappointed

  • Hmmm

    by Nette515 on 8/13/12Howard Theatre - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

First of all the event started an 1 1/2 late...not sure if it was the artist or venue. Jon B did an excellent job singing a lot of his classics and entertaining us. Jagged Edge on the other hand performed for about 30mins and had the nerve to sing Usher and Keith Sweat!!! Jagged Edge has more than enough hits that they could have sung their own songs. They really disappointed me because I am a huge fan of theirs.

  • by Ramosnena69 on 4/23/12Paradise Theater - BronxRating: 1 out of 5

Very disappointed with the concert. It began late, and not well organized. Will NEVER go to the Paradise Theater.

  • Jagged Edge Was Fire!

    by hot2bmeg on 4/20/12The Paradise Theater - BronxRating: 5 out of 5

Jagged Edge was the only performers that killed it they sang all their famous hits....Next was missing a performer but it was good....Horace Brown couldn't make it due to family reasons(understandable)....Intro's performance was hot...Smokey was hilarious...hate to be the one to say this but Jo Jo from Jodeci sounded like he needed to see a vocal coach before performing again but K-CI sounded hot... it was amazing for me because i paid to see Jagged Edge n they did their thing looking forward to their next performance I been a fan since day 1

  • Jagged Edge

    by Paris222 on 4/16/12Paridise Theater - BronxRating: 1 out of 5

The performers were good, but theTheater was not right. I purchased VIP seats and as soon as the first performer came on, people from all over came rushing down and blocked the view. I complained to security, but they did nothing. It was a waste of money and time since I was not able to enjoy the show. In addition, it started smelling like marijuana in the theater, which means people were smoking it. These type of issues would not have been tolerated at MSG, Mohegan Sun, XL Center and others. It is really a shame and I would not go back to that Theater. Lastly, the background music was way too loud.

  • The Best

by Anonymous on 4/11/12Paradise Theatre - BronxRating: 5 out of 5

The show was great, they were the best performers of the night. They did all my favorite hits, hands down one of the best shows I've been to.
