Great show...love that good old school R&B from back in the day!
This event was sooooo enjoyable from the beginning to the end. I love RB music and everyone represented RB to the fullest. I really enjoyed the MC (SPEEDY). He was hillarious and I would see him ANYTIME for standup comedy. I absolutely loved everything about this show. Thank you JE, Shi, Silk, and KC and JoJo for putting on a fantastic and unfogettable show.
I thought I was at comedy club when I got there.. The guy was just talking talking talking and telling jokes...
Amazing concert ! Such classic acts & great talent ! Worth every penny
The venue was beautiful. The people were not helpful. Silk was awesome. The rest of the groups surprised me. They were not as good as I thought they would be.
Very excited to see these people perform and it was wack. They performed very few hit songs and all performances seemed to be disorganized. People left before the concert was even finished. Very disappointed. The host had the crowd going more than the artists.
The show was nice, however the sound system was awful. So much to the point if I didn't know the songs already I would not have known what they were saying. The mics were too loud and too much bass. On the bright side I enjoyed Silk & of course Jagged Edge. If I could give a piece of advice I'd recommend JE stick to their songs because they have enough HITS not to perform others (i.e. Usher, Keith Sweat). Just my two cents. Poor JoJo...I think he was drunk. But I enjoyed them because they were the ONLY performers with a LIVE BAND...Yeah I thought going to a concert meant live bands. Yeah guess that was before all this technology. I'm still a sucker for good music and I needed a little more.
MC was great. Sound system was poor. Disappointed in the performances. Ratchet fans up front.
Though I think the actual artist performances were good the sound quality was very poor. Music overpowered the voices & you couldn't make out much of what they were actually saying/singing - unfortunate!!
horrible people were standing up drinking in the theater sounds system was horrible, performers were great, been to many events at the theater but this event was very very very takyyyyyyy!!!!!!
Jagged Edge and Silk need to do another concert.. They put R back in RNB!!!
The show was great. Silk really surprised me. They put on a great show.
The concert was fantastic. The artists interact with crowd. Nice . The only act I was disappointed with was Jagged Edge. They had the stage dark and what seemed like their woman were on the side on stage. Those woman were so rude, they were laughing and pointing at people fron the stage. Like they were mocking the fans.
The show was an hour late. Opening act was local that lip sung. Show was over priced for what you got. Jagged Edge sang only 4 songs that were their own and they had way more songs that were great on their albums. Show as a whole was disappointing but would see Jagged Edge again under different circumstances. Maybe at a better venue and they are paid more to put on a better show.
The show would of been perfect if it didn't start an hour late! Jagged Edge performance was like 15 minutes. The host were jive. R.L. killed it and so did an artist from Evansville. About 15% of the seats were filled. Why did they have it in Evansville?? The city's outcome was terrible. Come to Nap next time...we will show you love.
The concert was amazinggg! Never thought I would see them perform along with Next, KC & Jojo. They sang all the throwback songs, I was in love. The reason why I gave them 5 stars instead of 4 was because they didn't sing Walked out of Heaven and you could hear echos in the center where they performed. But that wasn't their fault. Still loved their performance. <3
I was so excited to go to this show. What a dissappointment! These people where not ready to be on stage. First Abrams got on stage. The dj couldnt find his music so the man can sing. Took ten minutes for him to start , he felt stupid on stage. Then force mc"s came on, they where ok but the sound was so bad u couldnt understand a word they where saying. THen Silk came on. By then u would hve thought someone would have done a sound check but nope. Couldnt tell what they where singing either. They might have put on a good show if someone would have checked the sound. Then there was the supposed headliner jagged edge. What a joke. The dj played music that wasnt even theirs and they talked for 20 minutes sang 2 songs then said goodnight. They where horrible and quite rude. Hope no one else pays to go see these people again and i will never go see another show at the newark symphony hall. During the whole show i felt like i was getting bit by bugs. place is vey dirty. Horrible night
I have seen JE. They seemed out of touch with each other. Sounded good so fine. venue was not as hood as I thought like the one in the Bronx. Colonel Abrams just got out the hospital a month ago so had to sit most of the time but thats ok, sick is sick but he still sang great. Force MD's need a better stage presence. Overall was a nice night with the hubs so dont regret going but could have been better.
THIS SHOW WAS THE WORST BY FAR THAT I'VE GONE TO. I HAVE TO GIVE IT UP TO SILK WHO SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE HEADLINE PERFORMERS BECAUSE THEY REALLY DID A GREAT JOB WITH THEIR PERFORMANCE. AS FOR JAGGED EGDE, I USED TO BE A HUGE FAN. THEIR PERFORMANCE WAS HORRIBLE TO SAY THE LEAST AND I WILL NEVER GIVE ANY SUPPORT TO A GROUP THAT DOESN'T GIVE 100% TO THEIR FANS DURING A CONCERT. THEY WERE TIRED LOOKING AND THEY JUST DID NOT PERFORM WELL AT ALL...TWO THUMBS DOWN. NEWARK SYMPHONY HALL SHOULD NEVER BOOK THEM AGAIN!! THE WORST!!
I was surprised by how bad the sound system was. Voices were distorted by microphones. I was shocked by the poor taste of Silk, who were the best act of the night until they humped women on stage. JE as the headliners lacked professionalism and some of the audience left during their set. The event was too long with 20 minute intermission and even more time spent on irrelevant talking. A really poor showing overall.
