Poor Sound Crew ruined the Show!
by apolloniababe on 6/24/14The Perani Arena and Event Center - FlintRating: 1 out of 5Despite the acts' desire to give a great show to their deserving fans, a sub par sound crew brought the show to a screeching halt. All night long it was obvious that the first 3 acts were plagued by technical difficulties involving their microphones and ability to hear their own music while performing. Nevertheless, Next, 112, and Dru Hill persevered, while repeatedly asking for sound improvements and checking/switching microphones. When the headliners, Jagged Edge, took the stage, they were able to sing only 2 songs before they were overwhelmed by the inadequate sound equipment. They were removed from the stage, all the lights were turned on, and we the audience sat waiting in disbelief. Since we were not initially informed of the intentions of the show, we continued to sit there and wait. Sheet many, many minutes, someone came to the stage announced that the show would not go on. They tried to console the disgruntled crowd by offering $10 admittance to the "after party," as opposed to the original cost of $15. This brought even further dissatisfaction from the audience, as those who wanted to attend the after party thought it should have been free since the show was cut decidedly short. As for myself, I had no intentions of attending the after party so I was just out of a concert and the hundreds of dollars that I paid to purchase the floor-seating tickets and drive us across state lines to attend a concert.... only to have her favorite act of all-time unable to perform. This is indeed the first and last concert I will attend not only at the Perani Arena, but in Flint, MI, completely! I only wish that some sort of compensation for my loss could be received.
