About

Jackson Browne has written and performed some of the most literate and moving songs in popular music and has defined a genre of songwriting charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2007.

Except for a brief period in NYC in the late 1960s, Jackson has always lived in Southern California. His debut album came out on David Geffen's Asylum Records in 1972. Since then, he has released fourteen studio albums, four collections of live performances, two "best of" compilations, two DVDs and several single recordings. Jackson's newest studio album, "Downhill From Everywhere" was released in July 2021 and GRAMMY nominated for Best Americana Album.

Browne is known for his advocacy on behalf of the environment, human rights, and arts education. He's a co-founder of the groups Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) and Nukefree.org and a member of the Ocean advocacy group, Ocean Elders.

In 2002, he was the fourth recipient of the John Steinbeck Award, given to artists whose works exemplify the environmental and social values that were essential to the great California-born author. He has received Duke University's LEAF award for Lifetime Environmental Achievement in the Fine Arts, and both the Chapin-World Hunger Year and NARM Harry Chapin Humanitarian Awards. In 2004, Jackson was given an honorary Doctorate of Music by Occidental College in Los Angeles, for "a remarkable musical career that has successfully combined an intensely personal artistry with a broader vision of social justice."

  • Didn’t play some of his biggest hits

by Co girl on 11/11/25The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

Vocally he was amazing. This was our second time in 2 years and this time he didn’t sing some of his most popular songs. That was very disappointing! I did see some people leaving the venue about 5 songs in. Also, people come to escape the craziness of this world and not pay for political views. That was a turn off.

  • Epic music and fantastic venu

Jackson Browne performed many of his greatest hits and was a true joy to listen to. His voice stayed true to his legacy of incredible ballads and his performance was memorable and impactful. The Venetian is a lovely venue with unobstructed views and great access from every seat. Sound quality was top notch as well.

  • Love you Jackson!

It had been decades and I had a yearning to see Jackson. I was beyond happy from the opening song until his encore of Running on Empty! I closed my eyes and I was 19 again! His band was amazing; especially guitar solos and back up singers. Jackson was gracious and kind to his audience.

Went to a very old VENUE AT THE VENETIAN LAS . This was the last show of his stay !!! The first 4 songs were about his memory’s of his old days … We did not know or heard of those songs !!! The the old geezers started yelling out songs = KEEP YOUR DAMN MOUTHS SHUT UP!!! NEXT THE CONCERT SHIRTS / EVERYTHING WAS PICTUREs of when he was a HIPPIE 45 plus years ago. !!! So huge loss of sales for SWAG !! = Saved me a LOT OF MONEY !!!

Jackson is one of our favorite performers and he did not disappoint! Took requests from the audience which shows versatility. His band was excellent. His voice is still great. The man can write a song!

  • Best Sound Ever

by Songbird on 11/11/25The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Loved the show! The acoustics in the Venetian Theater were fantastic! We were near the back, but when Jackson played his first chord, it was like I was sitting right next to him. It was cand for my ears. He puts on a great show, with many original old favorites and cover songs. Other than the loud-mouthed groupie behind us who seemed to think it was ok to tell my husband how to sit, it was a great show!

  • Happy and disappointed

Attended the Jackson Browne concert at the Venetian In Vegas over the weekend. Musicians and vocals were fantastic and the place really rocked when he played the songs people came to hear. I've seen him in concert on several occasions and his voice sounded great! What made the concert a real let down was him interjecting his political views for the first hour of a two hour show. I could see that a lot of the audience felt the same way. There is so much right and left polarization in the world today and here was an opportunity to have people come together and enjoy their shared love of his music and relive some memories. This action also took away a whole hour of other great songs we didn't get to hear. It shouldn't matter what your political views are when attending a concert, for one night we all felt the same way about hearing some great music we grew up with. I left feeling cheated and robbed of the experience I paid to hear!

  • Liberal nonsense!

by ME on 11/10/25The Venetian Theatre at The Venetian Resort - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

Browne should read his audience, his comments on federal non-elected judges holding the line to stop popular POTUS decisions is absurd- his concert was fine once he stopped trying to inflict his political views on an audience that was clearly divided! Paid money to hear his older songs when he was relevant. BTW saw the Eagles the next night at the Sphere, now that was a concert!
