About

JB Smoove is best known for his breakout role as Leon on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" which has firmly planted him as one of the best comedic actors today.
After spending several year as a stand up comedian in New York City Smoove moved to Los Angeles and landed a recurring role on MTV's "The Lyricist Lounge Show," as well as featured guest spots on "The Chris Rock Show" and "Premium Blend."   This led to his first big feature film, where he narrated and starred in the cult classic "Pootie Tang," reuniting with Rock.  Smoove subsequently following this up with a co-starring role opposite Adam Sandler in "Mr. Deeds."
After a season as a cast member on the sketch comedy program "Cedric the Entertainer Presents," Smoove moved back to New York City where he landed a writing position on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."  He later was a recipient of the 2007 Writers Guild award for "Best Comedy/Variety Series" for his work on the show.
In the standup and acting worlds, Smoove has been featured on "Tough Crowd," "Jamie Foxx Presents: Laffapalooza," and several "Saturday Night Live" and  "Late Night with Conan O' Brien," sketches. He was a recurring character on "Everybody Hates Chris" and later became a cast member on the Brad Garrett  sitcom "'Til Death."  He will next be seen as host of the new Comedy Central standup series, "Russell Simmons Presents: The Ruckus,". Smoove recently shot his own one-hour stand-up special "That's How I Dooz It" for the cable channel and will be co-starring in the NBC series "Bent".  Smoove also serves as host of this year's CLIO Awards special, celebrating the world's best commercials, which will be seen on NBC later this year.
On the big screen, he appeared in "Date Night" with Steve Carell and Tina Fey and the Farrelly Brothers directed comedy, "Hall Pass." His most recent film projects are "The Sitter" with Jonah Hill, "We Bought a Zoo" featuring Matt Damon and "The Dictator" opposite Sacha Baron Cohen.

    Don't expect Leon

by jay s on 10/3/22The Wilbur - Boston

He was funny, but it was a pretty generic comedy act. I was hoping he'd mention Curb at least once.

by Avid attendee at Wilbur on 10/3/22The Wilbur - Boston

The balcony seats were horrible not as advertised on the website. No view at all, we had to move to top seats to get a clear view.

by Musicman on 10/3/22The Wilbur - Boston

Let me say I love JB. I have seen him the last 3 times he toured. 90% is the same!!!! That is really disapointing. He calls the tours different names which leads you to believe the show will be different.

    Physically Phunny

by Emcee on 10/6/21Showroom at Talking Stick Resort - Scottsdale

I've been a fan of JB Smoove for a while, but I had never seen him on stage. I didn't know he had such a physical show. He used his entire body to make a joke. He never seemed to focus on one side of the room. He included everyone in his humor! Almost EVERY comedian I've seen has made a joke about the heat in Arizona. Most of them use this as a warm-up joke, but JB took it to the next level. He showed how he could take an often used topic and make it sound fresh.

    J.B. Smoove was amazing!

by Bobby on 10/4/21Showroom at Talking Stick Resort - Scottsdale

We Loved the show! J.B. Smoove was amazing! The event location would have been better in a more intimate setting like a comedy club. The Talking Stick Resort Mask Mandate was the only bad part of the night. Even though I did not comply it would have been much better without seeing people muzzled.

    J.B. Smoove is smooth!

by Nick B. on 10/4/21Showroom at Talking Stick Resort - Scottsdale

I saw J. B. Smoove entertain this past weekend in the Talking Stick Showroom. The venue is good sized at about 600 seats so it's big yet cozy. Every seat is close enough to the stage. But J.B. as a comic and entertainer is fantastic! I honestly can say that I have not laughed as much as I did watching him all year. He is quick, animated and has just the right amount of raunchiness that makes him so funny. Check him out on this tour. He's great!
