Todd and the artists he brought in for this project were totally the best. Not only did we revisit what the Beatles did decades ago, they added their own hits to the show. Very diverse, fast moving. Never bored, greatly enjoyed. The Majestic is a great place for events. The folks get you into your seats quickly, and out the door easily when all is over. The parking garage had a hiccup trying to get out, but the gentleman assisting as you exited was doing a great job.
Fun show where some stars associated with The Beatles sang songs from Rubber Soul and Revolver along with each singing just two of their own hits. Fun and happy all-star show that we really enjoyed.
Great show! So many great musicians in one place playing the best music! I’d love to go see it again.
I LOVE the Wiltern....My seats were GREAT. first row center. Todd was, as always FUN to observe. Mickey Dolenz was FABULOUS as humorous host! Loved Badfinger & Chris Cross was a DREAM to listen to. Seriously in the Top 5 shows for me of 2019. Loved that the artists did the hits we Love & could sing to. Wish Jason, from Chicago would have played some of his hits. The staging & lighting was Spectacular! Really Really GREAT SHOW!!!!! ICONIC! Thank you Wiltern..........ps I love the hot dog people after the show, too! LOL!!!
The Wiltern theater is a great place for any event
I'm a huge Todd Rundgren fan which is why i bought a ticket to this, knowing it would be White Album songs plus hits from the featured artists' careers. The others featured on the bill were Christopher Cross, Micky Dolenz, Joey Molland of Badfinger, and Jason Scheff of Chicago. I wasn't quite sure how up to the task the others would be, but i was pleasantly surprised by all of them, particularly Cross, who was quite good on the Beatles tunes, and Dolenz and Molland were strong vocally (and Molland played quite a few riffs and solos). I was disappointed that we didn't get any Chicago tunes that night, and only one Beatles song with him on vocals for some reason (maybe his voice wasn't feeling it that night?). But overall, the show was quite entertaining, and at around 30 songs, was pretty satisfying.
And a great job! This unlikely group of talented and experienced musician’s nailed the album, delivering performances that retained the mood of the White album while adding their signatures. Nods to Todd for his wonderful Helter Skelter and Bungalow Bill, Mickey for an amazing Rocky Raccoon, Jason Scheff for such a Lennonish version of Glass Onion and Chris Cross’ version of Paul songs that we’re dead on vocally and on guitar. The killer drummer and keyboard player as well as all the other backing musicians were awesome - their backing vocals spot on! Great Show!
It was a great show with terrific performers and a great band and as usual Todd gives a great performance.
The Wiltern is a beautiful old theatre and the stage was very simple and clean. The mix of musicians turned out to be quite amazing with everyone having their own specialty and the backup musicians were world class. The only disappointment of the night was the fact that Jason Scheff had laryngitis so we didn't hear any Chicago tunes.
All the artist were good in their performances but not all the songs were played from the Beatles White album plus the songs were not done in order. The song order was all over the place.
One of the best shows I have seen all year. Bravo!!
I anticipated the show as presenting The White Album from start to finish. If they tossed in a few hits from the individual performers, I would have been thrilled. Instead it was a mishmash of the two. A couple songs from the album, then a handful each from Rundgren, Dolenz, and Cross; followed by an intermission; and then finishing with several more White Album songs. Cross was good (I wished Arthur's Theme would have found a place) and Rundgren brought showmanship and silliness, but all-in-all the show felt disjointed and not as good as its individual parts.
The venue was awesome. The mix of White album songs and classic hits by the performers was perfect. There was a lot of singing along dancing around and the performers seem to be really happy to be there which always makes it a fun night
All artists did justice to the Beatles songs they performed as well as their own tunes. Todd was great as always and the backup players were solid however Christopher Cross and Mickey Dolenz stole the show. All around awesome concert.
Amazing show! Todd Rundgren was the BEST but I must say EVERYONE in the band was great!!! Great seeing Christopher Cross and Jason from Chicago amazing voice!
Anticipating some great Beatles music, i was not disappointed. As a bonus got to see some guys my age rock out and play some of the hits they were known for! Extra credit was Todd Rungren with a squirt gun. Loads of fun, would enjoy another round!
Look ANY time TODD RUNDGREN gets involved in something, he knocks it out of the park. NO exception with this tribute to the Beatles White Album. AMAZING job of covering Beatles tunes. As a little something extra, ALL the members of this all-star band did a couple hits from the their own band or solo stuff. GREAT tunes, GREAT venue and GREAT evening!!! Cheers
Todd Rundgren stole the show with his great performances of his hits and the White Album Beatles songs (Bungalow Bill was wonderful!). Mickey Dolenz did an outstanding version of Rocky Raccoon. Joey Molland and Christopher Cross were great to see too! Jason Scheff was great singing and he played bass throughout the concert. The guitar player who worked on The Beatles "Rain" was excellent. The drummer who had played John Lennon at one time kept the timing together. The keyboardist really complimented all the performers. The promoter came out to introduce the artists and hinted that an Abbey Road tour may be a possibility, which I would be interested in going to. Was great to finally get to see a concert in the room that Elvis Presley had played from 1969 to 1976 when it was the International Hotel & then the Las Vegas Hilton. Do NOT miss this show if it comes to your neck of the woods!
Great space...all good seats! The show was fantastic, especially when performers added their own top hits and shared their insights from the past and in putting together this very memorable show!!!
