About

Iron Maiden are one of the most formative bands to establish the heavy metal genre in the ’80s. Formed in 1975 in East London, the band underwent several personnel changes before releasing their self-titled debut in 1980. Iron Maiden’s sophomore effort, 1981’s Killers, was the first to chart in the U.S. and marked the final release with lead singer Paul Di'Anno. With the installment of frontman Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden released their breakthrough 1982 album, The Number of the Beast, which reached platinum certification, introduced two staples to the band’s catalog with the title track and “Run to the Hills” and kicked off a 10-year run of releases to land in the Top 40 on the Billboard 200, including their 1983 follow-up Piece of Mind and 1986’s Somewhere in Time. Dickinson departed in 1993, but returned in 1999 to cement the current lineup with bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris; guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers; and drummer Nicko McBrain, along with the band’s long-standing mascot “Eddie,” whose skeletal figure has graced the cover of nearly every release and become a signature of their live performances. Iron Maiden reached a new level of mainstream success in the ’10s, winning their first Grammy in the Best Metal Performance category for their 2010 single “El Dorado,” while 2010’s The Final Frontier and 2015’s The Book of Souls both earned No. 4 placements on the Billboard 200, marking their highest-charting albums at the time.

By far one of the best Iron Maiden shows in recent years. All of the boys seem to be back in great shape, and Bruce Dickinson's voice has exponentially improved since the last tour. I would recommend this to any Iron Maiden or metal fan. The setlist was primarily newer songs from more recent albums and even one from the upcoming album. Dream Theater was the opening act, I felt they had a lack of energy but the music was outstanding as usual. As this was the first show of the tour there were kinks that will be worked out as the tour progresses. Overall it was amazing!

    Not all that great

by malmsteenisgod on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

I'm not much of an Iron Maiden fan, but I never miss the opportunity to miss Dream Theater. However, pairing up with Iron Maiden gave DT a 45 minute show, only enough for 5 of their songs, hardly gave Dream Theater any space to put their gear on stage, and because of the stupid Iron Maiden props if you weren't given a seat right in the center of the stage, you couldn't see anything. I sat off to the left and was unable to see John Myung or Mike Portnoy. Then Iron Maiden came on and I was hardly impressed. The sound through the PA's was awful and ear bleeding. The superpages center is hardly suited for good acoustics. It was rather disappointing. I don't mind that Iron Maiden was sub-par, but that they only gave DT a 45 minute set, hardly gave them time or space to put up their full rigs, and blocked the view with ugly props, is just upsetting.

    Great band, dreadful setlist.

    by HJ1492 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

IMHO, way too much of the "reunited" Maiden and not enough of the classic Maiden. Not one tune from Killers, Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Somewhere in Time or Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

    Iron Maiden

    by MaidenFan1 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Sound was not the best. Band over played the lead singer. Sometimes you could barely hear him!

    Absolutely Incredible!

    by DarkArts124 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

That show was absolutely amazing! Dream Theater had a great set-list and got to play for a good 45 minutes, then when Maiden came out they did so with a force! All of the members of Maiden are still great showmen, and Bruce especially hasn't lost any energy at all in his older years. I was unfamiliar with a few songs that they played because they were from their newer albums, and two were from their newest album which isn't even out yet. However, they played a large enough selection of their older stuff to make this fan very happy.

    Moving forward as always

    by brandon666 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Forward. If you had to describe Iron Maiden in one word right now, it would be forward. This is the direction they have taken the band, and why wouldn’t they? It seems like a lot of Maiden “fans” are stuck in the 80’s, even though the band is obviously not. Guess what, they didn’t play The Trooper…who cares?! Listen people, Brave New World is a full 10 years old now…if you want to chant for “classics” then chant for Dream of Mirrors! Face the facts, in the last decade (meaning Brave New World and on) Iron Maiden has written some of the most powerful and influential music of their career. I love the old music, I really do and I listen to those older albums all the time, but Maiden isn’t a band focused on the past, they’re focused on the future…and that’s something we should all be happy about. Maiden isn’t an 80’s band…they were an 80’s band…in the 80’s. It’s 2010..time to get with the Maiden of now and the Maiden of tomorrow. Not the bands fault, but the sound quality was very poor....shame on you Dallas.

    Best concert ever

by Anonymous on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

I have been to a lot of concerts over the years and this was the best. Iron Maiden is like a fine wine that just keeps getting better with age. They had the best sound setup I have ever heard at a concert. It was so crystal clear it was unreal. Great show. Long Live Ronk and Roll

Another Maiden show, another badass time!

    by bear187k on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

What can I say? Maiden always puts on a good show. Some of the wannabe fanboys griped about the show being a little too short and not enough Eddie exposure. If they wanted an all-Eddie show, the band would be called "Eddie and the Iron Maiden". The crowd was in a frenzy while Dream Theater was opening and went nuts when the lights went dark. If you've never been to a Maiden show - this is the one to start with.

    Dream Theater/Iron Maiden

by mndlph on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Absolutely fantastic! Dream Theater was an added bonus! They are both headliners in my book. Bruce Dickenson brings the energy.

    by rushfan2 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

I was never a huge IM fan back in the day, but took my daughter and friends to the Dallas show. They far exceeded my expectations! The sound was spot on, singer still "has it", high energy, overall great show.

    Iron Maiden Dallas

by Anonymous on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

The show was great. They mostly played songs off the last 3 albums. During the encore they played older material such as Number of the Beast and Hallowed be Thy Name.

    Maiden on 6/9 - Dallas

by UpTheIrons on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

I know that a band with 25+ years of recording history can't play everyone's favorite songs, but not playing "The Trooper" or "Run to the Hills" left the crowd in disbelief. There is no way that a show from Maiden should exclude these two songs. On the way out of the arena there was lots of complaining and the crowd was generally unhappy about these omissions. Additionally, since this was the first show of the US tour, the sound mix was out of balance. The guitars were the highlight of the mix, but Steve Harris and Nico were too loud. Bruce's voice was distorted at loud volumes. There were no video displays or monitors behind the stage for the crowd to see the band, so unless you were in the first 1/3 of the seats, you couldn't see the band. Overall it was a disappointing show for such a seasoned band. IMO you'd be better off buying the 666 DVD and a good home theater system.

Iron Maiden & Dream Theatre....Very Nice!

    by Jon1972 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

I have been a huge Maiden fan for 30 years. Seeing them last night took me back to the Powerslave & Somewhere in Time tours. Even though it was disappointing to not hear some of my old favorites, you've got to appreciate a band that doesn't rest on their laurels. they brought a lot of new music to this tour, and it was nice to hear. Dream Theatre was awesome, I'll be buying some more CD's.

    Iron Maiden rocks!

by ValB on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Heavy Metal giants Iron Maiden came back to Dallas Texas last night and rocked the house down! These guys have been making metal music for over 30 years and yet on stage these guys play like they are 20 years old. Iron Maiden played new songs, which were awesome. Can't wait for the new cd. They did one encore with Number of the Beast. These guys can show a lot of new metal bands how it's done! Rock on guys!

Triumphant Return to Dallas? Maybe not

by texascrickett on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Ok so it's Maiden.. yeah I get that.. yeah they haven't been here in what forever? But man.. I was a little let down. It was a great show and they sounded amazing, the stage was wicked.. loved seeing Eddie play the guitar.. but really.. overall it was kind of anti-climactic. Especially since this was the opening show. I was really shocked they didn't play ANYTHING off of their most popular albums. I loved the new stuff. So.. mixed feelings. I've seen Maiden now, I can cross it off my list :)

    Iron Maiden was okay.

    by Luis1975 on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Iron Maiden was just okay.....not the best performance I've seen from them. All bands need to realize that it's ALL about the fan experience because they are the ones paying for the event. So they go to the concert to hear the songs that made Maiden famous, and that didn't happen in the case. They didn't play all the fan favorites like "The Trooper", "Wasted Years", "Run To The Hills" & many other favorites. Which left the fans confused & dissapponted. Walking out of the concert, I didn't feel the buzz from the crowd that u normally get when a band puts on a awesome show...it just wasn't there. The concert ended to quickly & the fans were left wondering what happen. I still love Maiden & will be a fan for life, just hope that next time around they'll make a better fan experience.

Iron Maiden at their best!! UP THE IRONS!!!

by WompussKitty on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Iron Maiden kicked off the start of their " The Final Frontier " tour in Dallas, Texas, June 09,2010 and they were excellent as always. They sounded great this time, last time their volume was too high and was crackling in the speakers, this time, the sound was rolled back and they sounded as good as clear and precise as usual. A perfect start to a perfect show!!! UP THE IRONS!!!!!! And...Many more happy returns to Iron Maiden. Thanks guy's, you were great.

    Iron Maiden's Gonna Get You!

by Bluecaterpillar on 6/10/10Superpages.com Center - Dallas

Every time I walk into an Iron Maiden show, I have very high expectations, and they never fail to exceed 'em. This time was no exception. The boys are at the top of their game. Bruce's voice never sounded better. As always, they looked like there was nowhere in the world they'd rather be, and nothing they'd rather be doing. Everyone in the audience seemed to feel the same. It was just a tremendous performance. I love them more than I did before, and believe me, that's saying something!
