Indiana Pacers History
The Pacers have a long history that goes back to 1967, when they were a member of the American Basketball Association. They dominated that league, making the ABA Finals five times in seven years and winning three championships. They joined the NBA in 1976, when the two leagues merged.
The Pacers initially struggled in the new league, qualifying for the playoffs just twice in the first 13 NBA seasons. But things began to turn around after they selected Reggie Miller with the No. 11 overall pick in the 1987 draft. Miller led the Pacers to the playoffs in his third season, which became a trend. They made the playoffs in 16 out of the next 17 seasons, nearly spanning Miller's entire Hall of Fame career, all of which he spent in Indiana.
The Pacers were not able to win a championship in that span, though they did advance to the NBA Finals in the 1999–2000 season. They lost in the finals in six games to the Los Angeles Lakers. After a rebuilding period through the late aughts, the team advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2013 and 2014 led by All-Star small forward Paul George, though they fell to Miami’s “Big Three” in back-to-back match-ups.

Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
The Pacers moved into their current arena in 1999, when it was known as Conseco Fieldhouse. It has been called Gainbridge Fieldhouse since 2021 (after previously being called Bankers Life Fieldhouse from 2011 to 2021), and it's one of the few arenas in North America specifically designed to accommodate basketball. The Pacers share the arena with one other professional team, the Indiana Fever of the WNBA.

A great preseason game! The pacers have done a good job! I liked it!
Pacers and Spurs ! Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Danny Granger! We had a great time!
Sitting in the second row on the floor was amazing. not just you can feel every bounce of the ball, you can almost feel the sweat flying around.
To celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary we took our 11 year old grandson and his mom(our oldest daughter) to the Pacers vs Spurs game at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, IN. I was a bit disappointed that even though we got advance sale $55 a piece tickets, our seats were still pretty far up, but the "show" itself was great! Boomer and the time out crew were very entertaining, having the IU players there for autographs was a big plus, too and the Pacemates added some nice razzle dazzle. My husband said today he would go to lots more Pacer games if they played more of them at Assembly Hall - we liked the venue.
Having the Pacers play a preseason game at Assembly Hall was a fantastic idea and provided a great game with a college-like atmosphere. The Pacers should play a preseason game every year in Bloomington!
I think the Pacers should play a few regular season games at Assembly Hall. It was louder there than it gets at Conseco Fieldhouse. There are some true fans like me there. Conseco many times only has bandwagon fans.
What a great idea for the pacers to play at IU Assembly Hall!! It was a great opportunity for the students and a new adventure for Pacers fans.
I really enjoyed the chance to watch the new guys on the team prior to the season starting to start getting an idea of what we might be able to expect once the season starts. The team is going to play with a lot of hustle and energy, which is all we can ask for as fans! I look forward to a great season cheering the Blue and Gold and thank the organization for their generosity in rewarding their fans!
Amazing they played strong! The game kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Hope the fans start coming again.
Thank you for offering promotional specials. It was a fun night.
I had a great time at the game with my family. The crowd was nice and so was the game.
When the pacers won the game was very exciting to my children.
Great time with great seats Way to go get a win PACERS
It was a great game. I can't wait until basketball season starts.
Conseco is an intimate setting and the crowd is energizing!
Although the fan turnout was pathetic as expected for a pre-season game my 6 year old and I had a great time and were treated great at the event. The tickets we got were good seats and the people around us were very nice. It did help that we were winning by 30 points also!
We had a great time at the game. I was very impressed with the play of the Pacers. They really seemed to like running, which is somewhat different than in the past. It is great to see the new guys fit in so well, and play so hard. Will be happy when the rest of the team is healed and on the court. GO PACERS!!!!!!!!!
I enjoyed the game, even though it was pre-season and several star players only played for a short time. I knew a Houston player years ago when he palyed Junior College. I have followed him through the college levels and into the pros. Just seeing him and his family again was worth the trip. Conceco is a great place for basketball.
Pacer games are always fun. They really keep you entertained.
the seats were great the food and drinks were fine but the player iwe came to see wasnt even playin. whats up with psycho T I really believe that we are going to be good this year get him playing. even thou the pacers still blew pout the rockets good job guys
