  • Great Atmosphere

Attending the 2024 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl in Shreveport was an unforgettable experience. The game between the Army Black Knights and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs was not just a showcase of football excellence but also a celebration of community and tradition. From the moment I arrived at Independence Stadium, I could feel the excitement in the air. Fans from all walks of life came together, decked out in their team colors, creating a vibrant sea of black, gold, and blue. The crowd of over 34,000 fans was electric, cheering loudly with every big play. It was the largest attendance for the Independence Bowl in years, and you could tell the organizers had gone the extra mile to make it special. Despite early concerns about the weather, the day turned out to be clear and crisp—perfect for football. Parking and traffic management were smooth, which made getting in and out of the venue relatively hassle-free. The Independence Bowl exceeded my expectations. While the outcome wasn’t what I hoped for as a Louisiana Tech fan, the event itself was a fantastic experience. The game highlighted the resilience of both teams, especially Louisiana Tech stepping in as a late replacement. It also showcased Shreveport’s ability to host a major sporting event with great success. I would highly recommend attending the Independence Bowl to anyone who loves college football. It’s more than just a game; it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in the camaraderie, passion, and excitement that make college sports so special. I’ll definitely be back next year!

Shreveport did a great job again. The time slot and day were perfect for the Indy Bowl!

  • Our was OK.

by Army Retired on 12/31/24Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 3 out of 5

We drove down from Oklahoma City for the game. I drive from our hotel two.The fairgrounds it was scary. Shreveport appears to just be one giant sketchy neighborhood. I paid for gold parking and there was absolutely no signage on the streets with good instructions to the various parking lots. The local food was exquisite. We ate at Crawdaddy's before the game and had étouffé. Morning after we ate at "Another Broken Egg Café."5 stars for their Cajun faire. The stadium needs to update the signage on the rows. Even with a flashlight up close the letters are completely worn off. When ordering tickets one cannot discern on which side your team will be playing. We ended up sitting with die-hard Louisiana Tech fans. They were awesome. We would rather have sat with our fellow Army fans. The right team won. We were very disappointed of independence bowl. There were no ball caps. They wanted sixty dollars for a long sleeve t shirt. Hoping Army has something in their fan shop. Won't go again.

  • Long wait to get in

I got to the area an hour before the event started. I wasn’t even parked yet before the game started and army had a touchdown.

I haven’t been to a Bowl Game in Shreveport since Covid hit in 2020. And that was in 2019 when I last went. I really enjoyed the Atmosphere of it from the beginning to the end. Even in the cold. I was really un decided on it being in Shreveport with the crimes, shooting. It turn out to be a Good Night ❤️

  • Meh... too expensive for quality

by Megs on 12/19/23Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 4 out of 5

I think the tickets were too expensive. People were giving tickets away for practically free and you could sit anywhere in the stadium anyways. It's ridiculous that you're charging people $60-75 for tickets that other people are getting for free or cheaper. There's no reason a bowl game should have tickets be that pricey, especially since the stadium doesn't fill up as fast.

  • Game great

by Jt on 12/19/23Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 4 out of 5

The game was great. The problem I had was something was blocking access to the internet and I could not pull up my parking pass or cell phone access in the gold parking area and it was on and off in the stands. This caused problems getting into the parking area I paid for.

  • My team didn't win

by Michael on 12/19/23Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, purchasing a ticket was fairly routing. However, parking was another matter. i could not simply buy a parking pass and print it out. There was a complicated process that did not end up with a printed ticket. We're not all millennials. make it easier rather than face the traffic jam and confusion that ensued. That may not be Ticketmaster's fault, and if not pass it on to the Independence Bowl personnel.

  • Worst event ever attended

by JW on 12/19/23Independence Stadium - ShreveportRating: 1 out of 5

This event was the worst run event I have ever attended. The mobile tickets were delivered, and I downloaded them to my digital wallet but when I got close to the stadium they disabled. There was no cell signal so they couldn’t be redownloaded. The only help the box office gave was to walk far away from the stadium until I had signal and redownload them. Or I could stand in a very long line to pay them $10 to reprint the tickets. Since everyone with mobile tickets had the same problem it was several hundred deep line. Although the box office had 7 windows open, only one could fix this problem. I asked to use the WiFi to redownload since there was one labeled “box office” but they said no WiFi existed. I had to buy an extra set of tickets to get in. Inside the concessions lines were just as long as the box office. There was no cell signal in the venue despite only being 1/3 full. I attend probably 15 different sporting events a year and this was by the worst event I have ever attended. A 1 is too high a rating for this.
