Florida Gators Football History
The University of Florida has continuously fielded a football team since its inception in 1906, with the notable exception of the 1943 season due to World War II. As charter members of the Southeastern Conference in 1932, the Florida Gators have long-standing rivalries against Auburn, LSU and Tennessee. The Gators have won three national titles (in 1996, 2006 and 2008) in addition to eight SEC titles and 15 divisional titles since 1992. Three quarterbacks have won the Heisman Trophy for the Gators, including future legendary Florida coach Steve Spurrier in 1966, Danny Wuerffel in 1996 and Tim Tebow in 2007.
The Florida Gators have intense rivalries against in-state, non-conference schools Florida State and the University of Miami, along with other schools in the SEC. However, their archnemeses are the University of Georgia's Bulldogs, who face Florida annually at Jacksonville's TIAA Bank Field. The Florida-Georgia rivalry is so bitter that neither school can agree on when it started, with Georgia contending that a game played against a predecessor in 1904 was the beginning, and Florida stating that the two schools first officially met in 1915. Florida-Georgia is one of the few remaining neutral-site rivalry games in college football. With conference and national title hopes often hanging in the balance, it remains one of the most important rivalries in the sport.

Loved getting the opportunity to see a Florida Gator game in person! Didn’t realize how close the sidelines were to the stands and having a 4th row seat behind the Gator bench was amazing! The grab-and-go food center and traditional concessions offered a wider variety of food and drinks that I wasn’t expecting. The single ticket price was appreciated and welcome. Great time!!
It is one of the most electrifying experiences out there the people are great the employees are even better and the team is fun to watch
I would’ve definitely given this review 5 stars because I love my Gators and the game was awesome, but our seats were definitely not what we expected. We picked seats that, according to the map, should’ve been on the end. We were more in the middle and with 8 of us, it was a pain to have to crawl over people coming and going. We also had to buy a last minute ticket, which also showed as an end seat, and that one ended up being a nightmare to try to get too. In fact, th person that had the seat next to it, said, they never sell that seat. An updated or more accurate map/seating locator would be extremely helpful. I want to know that what I’m buying is what I’m getting.
Never, I repeat never get seats 1-3 in Gator football rows. Many of them (but not all) are in the MIDDLE of long rows and are extremely difficult to get to. It was hard to tell this from the stadium maps. The expensive tickets were horrible. Worst I’ve ever had. Do not buy them.
Waited 90 minutes for Gator Bites during pregame at a bar that charged a $20 cover (McDin) ... told the server I ordered them so the Bulls would eat the Gators. Bingo! Delighted to be in attendance for USF's three most memorable road upsets (FSU, Notre Dame and now The Swamp).
it took forever to get into stadium, the electronic tickets wuldn't scan for masses of people. In my case one ticket scanned, one did not. it took a full 5 minutes to get the UF scanner to read my ticket number 2. brand new phone, clean screen, two scanners. the scanning person said that all day he could scan 4 tickets on one phone and the scanner would struggle with one of the 4. Terrible dynamic ticket scanning sysytem you should have witnessed the backup
Glad to get tickets but myself, my friends and other fans were jammed in so tight and with the Florida humidity before the game it was something to be endured rather than enjoyed.
Never had a bad time at a gator game! Love my gators. Look forward to being a big supporter for the rest of my life.🙏🏼🏈🏈🙏🏼🤩
We had an absolute blast! Parking was insane but we managed. Smooth line to get into stadium.
