Was expecting food from the chefs, A place to sit and watch the chef's cook bigger than 50 or so chairs. There was more booze than food and it was ilani's food. Totally unprofessional and unorganized and we spent over 400.00 dollars. Even got insurance and can't get a refund.
Was way over sold with very little explanation of what was actually going on. Hopefully next year it is better planned. Spent all my time there waiting in lines.
Poorly planned event. There shouldn't have been tickets as the appetizer sized samples were expensive enough. Also took our son with us and had our tickets on our phone. They never looked at our tickets and didn't even i.d. my son before giving him his drink pass and plastic cup! Half the vendors tables we're empty so i paid to get in to not even have a full experience.
It was a great opportunity to sample a lot of different delicious beverages and bbq. We had A LOT of interaction with the celebrity chefs and got to judge a bbq competition. I’d go again. We had a great time.
It was a COMPLETE AND UTTER disaster! I spent 95% of the time in different lines. VERY POORLY planned!!!
Food was good, vendor selection was good and so were drinks. Crowd was crazy. Better space utilization next time could make it a wonderful event to attend year after year. Coordination of entry into event needs improvement. Space to see cooking demonstrations could be expanded so more people can see what is going on. The space the event was in did not suit the large crowd that showed up.
Great event. Well organized. Got to see and hear many celebrity chefs. Really enjoyed this event!
We showed up halfway thru event and were happy with low crowds. We never had to wait more than one person for drinks and still got to see the Chefs. It was fun that under 21 could attend because our son loves Alton Brown and loved getting to meet him. It was hot but there was shady spots to go and lots of water available (even if it wasn't on ice). The only thing that would have been better was if it was all on one level. We missed the smells of the BBQ contest and fancy toilets while up on roof. However, we all have said we will come back if it happens again!
It was neat seeing and talking to the celebrity chefs in person. But there was only like 50 chairs for hundreds of people and long lines for the food and most of the bbq places downstairs didn’t even have food when I was looking for something to eat. Kind of strange for a bbq event. But the alcohol tasting was fun if you’re into that.
Maybe they are new at this sort of thing but it seemed poorly organized. The viewing area for the celebrity chefs was way to small. There was not enough seating and the food was mediocre.
Overall we would do it again IF the kinks get worked out. Check in took way too long. No direction on where to go. Had no idea the main event was behind us on the rooftop and no idea how to get there. No one told us. Too many people standing in line to get in - maybe 100s. Hard to hear the celebrity chefs speak.
I bought the tickets for our daughter because she loves Alton Brown and the other chefs. She said it was an awesome experience and was grateful for the tickets. Worth every penny =)
This event far exceeded my expectation! The food was amazing and the celebrity chefs were so nice. I left with a full belly and excited for next year
They needed more pre-event info in the emails as to how the flow would go. We had no idea how much the food credit would buy before we arrived. That being said, the food choices were delicious. Using plastic tokens made it simple to purchase. Would have liked Larger signs on the tables so you could read what was being served from a distance once the lines grew long. Having the.lanyard with 24 punch card was simple and easy for the drink samples.
