About

Menzel is a Tony-Award winning, powerhouse multi-hyphenate: a singer, an actress in film and TV, a songwriter, a Broadway star, and a philanthropist. She rose to fame for her role as Maureen in the popular Broadway musical Rent, and her career took off when she won a Tony Award for her role as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the smash musical Wicked.

Her voice can be heard as Elsa in Disney's Oscar® winning Frozen, the second highest grossing animated films of all time, with more than $1.2 billion in worldwide box office revenue. The film's song "Let It Go", voiced by Menzel, became an instant international phenomenon, winning the Oscar® for Best Original Song-where Menzel performed it at the ceremony-and the Grammy® Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. The track reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Menzel the first artist with both a Billboard Top 10 hit and a Tony Award for acting. Menzel received the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at Billboard's annual Women in Music event in 2014 and performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIX.

A skillful songwriter, Menzel's prolific recording career includes multiple cast albums and the solo albums: Still I Can't Be Still, Here, I Stand and idina, which landed in the Top 30 on Billboard's Top 200 charts upon its release in 2016. She's released 2 holiday-themed albums, Holiday Wishes, which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Holiday Albums chart and gave Menzel a Top 10 album on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and its 2019 follow-up, Christmas: A Season of Love featuring duets with Ariana Grande, Billy Porter, Josh Gad and Idina's husband, Aaron Lohr.

This past fall, Menzel released her electrifying dance project Drama Queen via BMG. The project is a departure from what she's released in the past, as Menzel showcases her powerhouse vocals through disco-infused beats and soaring anthems. Idina worked with award-winning collaborators including Nile Rodgers (Chic, Diana Ross, Beyonce), Justin Tranter (Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez), Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Sir Nolan (Shawn Mendes, Carly Rae Jepsen), Jim Eliot (Elie Goulding, Kylie Minogue) and more.

Menzel has also released two children's picture books alongside her sister, Cara Mentzel, called "Loud Mouse," and "Proud Mouse" via Disney Publishing Worldwide. Both books center around self-acceptance and being true to yourself.

What a terrific show!! Idina was fantastic - what a voice! She looked great, sounded great. Her band was top notch and her sound mix was perfect! When she brought kids up to sing during "Let it Go", she was practically in our laps!

Her voice is beyond beautiful. When she sang a capella with no mike, it was breathtaking. Her band and singers were also fabulous.

    A Legend in the making.

by Lemo1 on 8/28/17Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

The Idina Menzel concert was absolutely outstanding. Her positive energy, compassion towards her craft and audience was very apparent, and the quality of her voice was over the top. She is already a treasure and I believe she will also be a true legend in time. The concert was so much fun and her song choice and arrangement's were terrific. I would also like to add that the Grand Sierra venue was very good, due to the comfort of the seats, the overall leg room, and the sound system was excellent. If you have the opportunity to see an Idina Menzel concert, please do so, you will very happy that you did.

Idina Menzel connects with her audience in an unprecedented way. Her energy and love for what she does filled the auditorium. Her setlist included songs from all our favorite shows. Outstanding performance and would definitely go again!

Good concert in spite of rain

by Xgojim on 8/17/17Meadow Brook Amphitheatre - Rochester Hills

Idina was her usual terrific self. See the review on the Oakland Press website for details of her performance. She had a number of highlights, though the highlight of highlights was her presentation of Let it Go when she invited all the small children in the audience to the stage to share the spotlight. See many video clips posted on YouTube to see her various songs. There was a deluge of rain early in the show and Idina encouraged people exposed to the rain to move forward. That really helped for many.

    Idina was the best ever

by Bearcats83 on 8/16/17The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

This was one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. Idina was at the top of her game and did some amazing numbers. I think there were at least 5 standing ovations during the show. It was amazing and if you have the chance to see her, you definitely should. Don't miss it!

    Outstanding

by BettyQ on 8/15/17The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Phenomenal talent and very cute personality. From jazz tunes to "I'm Not That Girl" and "Defying Gravity" and "Let It Go," she really put on a terrific show. Her band was full of talent as well, especially the pianist. I loved how the backup singers (women) were all instrumentalists as well. She spoke with audience members, took selfies with people up front, and had several young children come up onto stage and sing part of "Let It Go" to everyone. What a lovely, exciting event. Her voice is AMAZING.

    Idina is better on TV

by Goldfinger00752 on 8/15/17The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Her show in Chicago started 30 minutes late and probably would have started even later if the audience had not started a rythmic clapping session. When she finally came on stage she announced, "Hello Detroit!". Detroit? What the heck, the name of the theatre is Chicago Theatre. Then she blammed being late on one of her kids. 30 minutes of the show, which tickets werent cheap by the way, she spent having untalented children, very young children, come on stage to perform like a grammar school talent show. Good grief. She should also drop the impromtu dance line with her backup group and fiddler. Very dissapointed.

    Idina in Chicago

by Maur813 on 8/15/17The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Idina is an incredible talent although starting her show thirty minutes late was tacky and saying "Hello Detroit" instead of Chicago was worse.

Idina's voice is a national treasure

by Jennannery on 8/15/17The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

This was our fifth time seeing Idina Menzel in concert and we never cease to be amazed or covered in goosebumps. She's funny and real and warm and That Voice! She is my Barbra Streisand. She had a new level of fury with the songs from her most recent album. I wonder if Taye Diggs needs some ice for those burns. Love the strings and backup singers this time.

    Wonderful Show

by LHTate on 8/15/17BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

The venue is very quaint. It was clean and personable. I felt that I was not that far from Idina. She put on a wonderful performance. She came out about 25 minutes late, but I understand that is the new trend. Overall, would recommend.

    Wonderful

by OB1Kenobi1234 on 8/15/17The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Idina put on a great show. Good mix of songs In the playlist hitting the obvious favorites from Frozen and Wicked. She added a few songs from Rent which brought down the house, along with a few of her own songs. All in all a well put together set list and great vocals as always from Idina.
