About

Menzel is a Tony-Award winning, powerhouse multi-hyphenate: a singer, an actress in film and TV, a songwriter, a Broadway star, and a philanthropist. She rose to fame for her role as Maureen in the popular Broadway musical Rent, and her career took off when she won a Tony Award for her role as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the smash musical Wicked.

Her voice can be heard as Elsa in Disney's Oscar® winning Frozen, the second highest grossing animated films of all time, with more than $1.2 billion in worldwide box office revenue. The film's song "Let It Go", voiced by Menzel, became an instant international phenomenon, winning the Oscar® for Best Original Song-where Menzel performed it at the ceremony-and the Grammy® Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. The track reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Menzel the first artist with both a Billboard Top 10 hit and a Tony Award for acting. Menzel received the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award at Billboard's annual Women in Music event in 2014 and performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIX.

A skillful songwriter, Menzel's prolific recording career includes multiple cast albums and the solo albums: Still I Can't Be Still, Here, I Stand and idina, which landed in the Top 30 on Billboard's Top 200 charts upon its release in 2016. She's released 2 holiday-themed albums, Holiday Wishes, which debuted at #1 on Billboard's Holiday Albums chart and gave Menzel a Top 10 album on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and its 2019 follow-up, Christmas: A Season of Love featuring duets with Ariana Grande, Billy Porter, Josh Gad and Idina's husband, Aaron Lohr.

This past fall, Menzel released her electrifying dance project Drama Queen via BMG. The project is a departure from what she's released in the past, as Menzel showcases her powerhouse vocals through disco-infused beats and soaring anthems. Idina worked with award-winning collaborators including Nile Rodgers (Chic, Diana Ross, Beyonce), Justin Tranter (Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez), Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters), Sir Nolan (Shawn Mendes, Carly Rae Jepsen), Jim Eliot (Elie Goulding, Kylie Minogue) and more.

Menzel has also released two children's picture books alongside her sister, Cara Mentzel, called "Loud Mouse," and "Proud Mouse" via Disney Publishing Worldwide. Both books center around self-acceptance and being true to yourself.

    Sound Engineering-Dreadful

by RLucas on 10/1/17Jacobs Music Center's Copley Symphony Hall - San Diego

This is the third time I've seen Idina Menzel perform. Unfortunately, this time I was disappointed. The sound engineering and/or the acoustics in Copley Symphony Hall were dreadful. The song lyrics were unintelligible. Maybe the venue is only designed for symphonic music. Otherwise, whoever worked the soundboard that night needs their hearing checked or perhaps more practice at their job.

An enjoyable but imperfect event, late start

by NVguy on 9/6/17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

First of all, the concert started nearly an hour late. There was no explanation from the concert producer until just minutes before it finally started. Idina is a great talent and mostly gave a good show, but she had many pitch issues this night, especially on high notes. Maybe she was tired (it was near the end of her tour) or the dry desert air was getting to her, but she did drift off pitch several times. And there were some audio distortions in the speaker above the mezzanine level where I sat. Otherwise a fairly enjoyable show.

    Amazing Idina Menzel

by Pacoboy on 9/5/17Pechanga Resort and Casino - Temecula

This is the 2nd time I've seen Idina in concert. She continued to deliver an awesome show. This one was a bit more "formal" than her previous visit to San Diego at San Diego State Amphitheater a couple of years ago. But she was warm, welcoming, inclusive and delighted all the little girls who were invited up to the stage to sing Let It Go with her! That always warms my heart. My only complaint had to do with the venue. There were security guards in the theater to make sure no one was taking video or photos of Idina (not sure why since she encouraged it during Let It Go!). There had been a video slide before the performance stating no photographs, videos and absolutely no heckling. The guards asked people who took pictures near the beginning of the concert to cease. But where were they when Becky (who happened to be sitting right behind us) started screaming her love for the keyboardist? Even after Idina told her to "shut up, Becky, this is MY concert, not yours" did she keep yelling. It was annoying and interrupted the concert for those of us around Becky. Other than that, great theater - I would definitely attend another concert there!

    Great but delayed start

The concert was great - Idina Menzel is an amazing singer and performer. The concert started an hour late though which was really inconsiderate to the audience.

    Idina is a Star!!

by Qtbiz on 9/5/17Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - Reno

Didn't know what to expect when I went in but was so pleasantly surprised at the energy, mix of music, humility, tenderness and creativity of this artist. Her voice is fabulous. She sang everything from her own original compositions to Broadway to Frozen (lovely moment with the children on stage) songs. Her mash-ups were amazing. She could go toe to toe with Streisand on "Don't Rain on my Parade" and the surprise of her dropping the mike and filling the venue with her voice while singing "Because I Knew You" from Wicked was breathtaking and brought me to tears. If you ever have a chance to see this amazing woman perform, do it!

    Start on time

by Lylaclaire on 9/5/17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

Concert didn't start until 45 minutes had elapsed, when a guy came onstage to let us know there was a glitch in the filming of the event. A lot of Booing is no way to get In a good mood. Finally Idina started the show, however she made no comment about the tardiness. Her set was very good but her Mic seemed a bit muffled at times. Awsome band, singers and a delight to watch in the Pearl, one of my favorite venues.

    Beautiful voice

by LibbyMartin on 9/5/17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

This event was great! Very intimate setting. We would have liked it better had we not been sitting on glorified folding chairs. But as far as Idina's performance. She sounded great, and put on a great show. If you love Broadway, I highly recommend her show.

    Idina Menzel = Hour Late

by VegasGuy79 on 9/5/17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

Too bad Stations doesn't know how to run concert. The show started an hour late. Not only that, someone decided that the show was to be recorded for some sort of tv event. There were cameramen blocking our view throughout the evening. Did they use that video feed to display on the two big screens in the venue......NO!. Idina is great. Her cover version of Dear Prudence was fantastic. In fact, she stopped the song because she got the lyrics wrong and started over. Nice. Missed the big ending because, well, we had to go because the show started so late.

    Great Entertainer, Production Mismanaged

by Cloud9Driver1 on 9/5/17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

There was a last minute seat reassignment, which was a positive. The show was supposed to start at 8pm. It didn't start until close to 9pm. There was no update until 8:30, when the delay was due to their live filming of the show, which did not go over well. There were a number of small children in the audience, which was going to push the end of the show past their bedtimes. A few were already asleep during the show. Then Idina dropped an F bomb during a song and made an apology because of the kids. The one song that the kids were there for was the last of the set, and she did bring some of the kids on stage. Overall, things could have been managed better than it was.

    Late Late Late

by Chitown1992 on 9/5/17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

The show was 1 hour late because "they were filming it". They came out after 45 minutes to tell us that. I paid top dollar for my tickets and I could care less about filming it. Anything to do with filming it should have been set up long before we got there. Very unprofessional. Also as much as I like her she made no apology or reference to it starting late. Also a few times she stopped and re started for filming. I paid to see a concert which starts on time and not to watch a film crew.

    Great, but late

by KahunaLV on 9/5/17Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las Vegas

Idina is a superstar and had a great selection of songs to showcase her amazing talent. Unfortunately, the show was almost an hour delayed without explanation. That is just not cool.
