About

I PREVAIL IN CONCERT:

Post-hardcore punks I Prevail haven't let up since they first grabbed fans' attention with their incendiary cover of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" in 2014. The band sets itself apart from the pack with a unique mix of raw punk energy, catchy hooks, and electronic textures, and in concert it all gets turned up to 11 with mosh pit-inspiring standouts like "Crossroads", "Love, Lust, and Liars", and "The Enemy". Clean singer Brian Burkheiser carries the melodies on their calm segments before screamer Eric Vanlerberghe unleashes the beast on their savage breakdowns. It's a yin-yang approach that never fails to fire up crowds at their infectiously high-energy live shows. For their Strike the Match Tour in 2016, I Prevail is teaming up with The White Noise and My Enemies & I to bring their memorable choruses and hard-hitting tones to ticket buyers across North America.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Since they first came together in Southfield, MI in 2013, I Prevail has quickly gone from local favorite to viral sensation. The group – initially comprised of Brian Burkheiser (clean vocals), Eric Vanlerberghe (scream vocals), Steve Menonian (lead guitar), Jordan Berger (rhythm guitar), and Lee Runestad (drums) – immediately started recording demos following their first rehearsals. Things took off when they released their post-hardcore version of Taylor Swift's "Blank Space", which received over 20 million views on YouTube and was featured on the compilation Punk Goes Pop, Vol. 6. Their 2015 debut EP Heart Vs. Mind garnered more attention for the group, helping them land opening spots for artists like Crown the Empire, Hollywood Undead, and Pop Evil. I Prevail thrilled fans with the announcement of their headlining Strike the Match Tour in 2016, where they brought venues like the Tabernacle to capacity all across the U.S. and Canada.

  • Great show and music but horrible show runners

by Carmi on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

The bands put on an amazing show and the music was great as well. I will definitely try to see them again. But who ever ran the show stopped the show early because of "bad weather". There was rain earlier in the day but it had stopped hours ago and when they stopped the show there wasn't a cloud in the sky. So we only got to see like 4 songs played by IPrevail.

  • What Weather?

by Sam on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 2 out of 5

I have been super psyched to see this show because I Prevail has been a favorite band of mine. I spent the money to get front row seats. I bought these tickets like back in March and have been waiting for this concert. I wasn't a big fan of the first 2 bands, and I like Halestorm, but they're not my go to. I Prevail comes out, I'm really enjoying myself, they've performed 4 songs. I'm close enough to the stage to see that Eric isn't happy about something since he's scanning the crowd, frowning, and shaking his head. Now after I see this unhappiness, he comes on the mic and tells us that they are only doing 1 more song because of weather conditions and we all need to get up because "this is your last chance Charlotte."The band finished the song and the stage goes black and they're gone. Then we were told to leave by an unseen voice. Here's the suspicious part. There were no weather conditions. There was not a single drop of rain as we left, no thunder, no lightening, not even any wind. I have a sneaking suspicion that I Prevail didn't like the vibe of the crowd or wasn't happy that some people left after Halestorm, or something along those lines and they stopped the show early. I would have believed the weather story if there was a least some rain, but there was nothing. I am very disappointed by the band. I can't say that I won't listen to their music anymore, but I definitely won't try to see them in concert again or recommend seeing them to anyone else.

  • A great venue and a bad decision.

by MSY on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

My wife and I are Halestorm fans - which is the main reason we attended this show. And they completely delivered. We didn't know much about the other bands. Fit For A God was a nice surprise. I'll probably add them to my playlists. And their bassist was just pure fun to watch. He was sporting a fat grin through their whole set and spun his bass around like a madman. It's so refreshing to see a musician exude as much joy for being on stage as this guy. Hollywood Undead and I Prevail aren't my cup of tea. But of course, everyone's taste is different. Honestly, I knew I Prevail only by their cover version of 'Blank Space' - which they seemed to have played only begrudgingly. I mean, many artists don't enjoy playing their greatest hits over and over again - but they typically keep that to themselves and honor the fact that these are the songs that put them on the map. Don't berate your audience for liking it. Other than that, I was impressed by their stage effects and production. But then came the bummer: Maybe 40 minutes (if at all) into their set, they were told they had to cut it short due to severe weather warning. At that point we bailed, and so did many others. I was disappointed, because I was hoping they'd bring Halestorm back on stage to play the new song they recorded together. And I felt sorry for all the I Prevail fans. And then there wasn't even any bad weather! I think they based their decision solely on the "severe weather warning"for the larger region. But I think they should have someone look at an actual weather radar (like the ones they use in aviation) and only pull the plug if there is a cell actually headed their way. Anyway, we had a good time nonetheless.

  • ADA Excellence

by Galexcia on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

This was my best ever experience, as a disabled person, at a concert. Access was incredible. It sucked that the weather caused the concert to end early, but what we were able to see was fantastic.

  • Great show

    by Turtleday81 on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great show, lots of fun with friends, and great weather.

  • Great band, wish they played some of their older stuff more

    by ParzIval_M. on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

They sounded amazing at PNC Music Pavilion in NC. They even played their ‘Blank Space’ by TS cover. I assume they were only doing their newest album, which is fine, just didn’t know much of it. They only got to play like 5 songs bc the venue stopped the show due to “severe weather,” ALL IT DID on my 4 hour drive home was SPRINKLE RAIN. No lightening, no thunder, no nothing. Be weary about this venue if you’re seeing other artists here. Other than that, no complaints.

  • IPrevail was fantastic. Venue not so much.

by Chloe on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

IPrevail was amazing. The venue cut their set in half due to a storm that never came. Really sucked paying that much money for half a show. Super disappointed.

  • Amazing 🤘🏻

by Dee on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

I Prevail & Halestorm were amazing. Such a great concert. Sucks the facility stopped I Prevail’s concert short due to weather & there wasn’t even a cloud on the weather radar in the area & it never rained all the way back to the motel just down the road. Sucks we paid that money for half of a show.

  • Awesome show, but...

by Geejaycee on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

I understand the venue has to ensure the safety of everyone at the venue, but stopping a show during the headlining set because of "severe weather"when there was not a drop of rain, not a severe gust of wind, no lightning in sight (aside from heat lightning) was pretty ridiculous. Despite this let down, the show was phenomenal. I just wish we all could have seen it through to it's end.

  • Great Show, Terrible Ending However

by Vkirby on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

The Whole Show was amazing until the very end when I Prevail had to cut their set short due to "Inclement Weather". We proceeded to sit outside in the parking lot in traffic for an hour with not a drop of rain. They could've finished their set but PNC cut it for literally no reason, thankfully I didn't pay a crazy price for the tickets but it was unfair for the ones who spent good money to see them.

  • Great concert

by Djohnson on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was absolutely amazing! I took my daughter (who loves I Prevail) and we had an amazing time. Up until PNC Music Pavilion decided to stop the show early “due to inclement weather”. There was NO weather around us, we sat in the parking lot for a hour after the show ended and had NO rain, NO thunder, and NO lightening! BUT we will be back to see them when they come to Charlotte again!

  • The Venue Cut I Prevail's Set

by Meg on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

The songs that I Prevail got to play were absolutely amazing. But, the venue cut their set due to "severe weather"THAT NEVER HAPPENED. The band wanted to continue playing, but the venue abruptly cut everything, even though there were no storms or lightning in the area, and I sat in parking for 45 minutes after the show concluded to make sure. It would've been a killer show if they had been allowed to continue.

  • "Weather"cut the show short

by Mike on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 4 out of 5

Was pretty bummed show got cut short mid 9r sooner thru main event...and then after sitting in the parking lot...it never rained.... but hollywood undead and halestorm were amazing...fit for a king did good too

iPrevail was great even though the weather cut them short. Their energy was amazing! The graphics were really good too.

by MM on 8/6/24PNC Music Pavilion - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

Upset that headliner was cut short by 40 min due to weather but from the time they stopped til way over an hour to leave parking lot it was only partly cloudy and no lightening in distance!!!! Pissed off and all of us should be refunded or new dates!!!

  • Love them!!

They get better with every tour! I’ve seen them twice before at earlier points in their career, phenomenal then! They’ve somehow gotten even better!! Amazing show!
